I cannot download from Amazon to a Kindle so cannot read/review this book - wish I could. I was looking forward to a bit of escape...guess it was not meant to be.
I had completely forgot what this was about and why I had requested it in the first place.
So I went into this with as mush as an open mind as I could and found that I just didn't like it or care for the characters.
Thanks to NetGalley for an arc in exchange for an honest review.
i really enjoyed reading these short stories, the characters were great and each story flowed with each other. I look forward to more from the author.
Tales of Freya is a collection of short, very steamy stories. They were a bit too instalove but I enjoyed them. They were easy to get through. The Viking aspect was probably my favorite part of the collection.
I received an arc from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
Thank you to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this title

Very interesting read. Very steamy lol. Not quite what I was expecting, but a great read non the less.
I’m afraid this is a DNF for me. The themes became a bit too repetitive, and it didn’t hold my attention. It’s not that it was bad or poorly written, it’s just not for me.
In this collection of adult bedtime stories, Sarah Dahl pulls back the curtain of history to depict the erotic lives of Viking men and women. Amid the stark landscapes of fjords, forests and snow capped mountain peaks, her characters search for love and passion. Dahl authentically illuminates the sensual side of a world of battle and plunder in an alluring collection perfect for every lover of gritty Viking romance.
Well, this was definitely different from my normal reads as I don’t think I’ve ever seen a Viking erotica book, let alone an anthology, before. I found it interesting and the content itself was different, but enjoyable. I think that if you like these specific genres you will enjoy this book. I recommend.
**I voluntarily read and reviewed this book
A compilation book of some of the stories written my Sarah Dahl, this has been put together thoughtfully telling a story in itself.
I'm not intending to break down each tale but there are some characters I can't not mention.
Aldaith and Nyssa, what a pair these two are. Both warriors, they are strong and fierce even in their lovemaking but there's flashes of tenderness between them. I loved the way Sarah Dahl placed different tales of these two throughout the book, telling the story of a Viking Warriors life and I especially loved the premise of the final tale.
Each tale shows the Viking world from a slightly different angle, mentioning battles of course but also marriage, farming and slavery.
I'm glad I read these tales together in one book, though being short stories they're a perfect length for short journeys or just before falling asleep, and I know there are more already available for me to read. I'll also be looking out for others as they get published.
I've always loved the Viking way of life, be it book or film, and I loved reading these too.
When I saw this was a collection of erotic short stories, I had low expectations, but I downloaded it because I'm auto-approved by the publisher. But Sarah Dahl really knocked it out of the park. There was a build to the climax (pun intended), and the characters were surprisingly developed. Overall, a solid collection.
DNF - no rating
I have to admit that after seeing this collection being described as "The Last Kingdom meet 50 Shades of Grey", I was too curious not to give it a try. Unfortunately, my experiment did not work out. Short stories format was not up to my liking (I could not care less about characters) and I lost my interest after reading couple of short stories.
