i always enjoy Mr. Jolley's writing and this book didn't disappoint. The characters are great and I really enjoyed reading this.

DNF at 20%. I couldn't get into the story, or the characters, at all. The writing was both stilted and pedestrian. I couldn't get a sense of the characters' personalities, other than the father's, and he was the worst character of the bunch. And for a book that's under 200 pages, it should move lightning fast...but more time is spent on camera angles and what the scenes look like than actual plot.
