I enjoyed this quick read about a young woman learning to trust others, face her fears, find the courage to make her voice be head on her own terms, and follow her dreams.
The ending was good but very quick.

This was a fun little read, written in journal entry format with fun little snippets of emails and a neighbourhood listserv. The story is written from Annie’s perspective as she’s going through some major life changes: leaving her job after being sexually harassed by her boss, her fiancé ‘needing some space’ as he travels around Paris, an interesting new neighbour. Will she break her new rule to herself? No new people in her life.

I found Annie to be quite endearing and quirky. She’s a science girl, like myself, and is very analytical when it comes to her life. I found her life very interesting, and would like to read more about this character.

There were so many laugh out loud moments in this book, which was a nice change from what I’ve been reading lately. The parts about the friend with the MLM business had me cackling 😂.

This was a sweet, fun and quirky novel. It wasn’t a standout for me but it was definitely something that was light to read and I enjoyed getting to know the main character a lot more. Definitely pick it up if your looking for a more unusual, slower paced book!

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review!

Wow, this one was way overdue! We're talking almost 2 years overdue! This one was a lot of fun. However, I do think it will be pretty forgettable for me, if I'm being honest. Sometimes all you need is a contemporary like this one to listen to for a few mindless hours, though. I don't rate books anymore, but if I did, this one screams 3 stars!

After Annie is sabotaged by her boss, feels used by her best friend, and finally her fiancé, Jon asks for space while traveling to Paris, Annie decides she needs space too-- from everyone.
Yet, Annie proceeds to make new friends in her next door neighbor Harper, and Mo, an amateur detective. Soon she has let these two people into her life, and suddenly Jon reappears- and wants her to join him in France. She's pretty sure letting anyone in won't end well; so she must decide. Is another shot at happiness worth the risk?
This was another great read from Camille Pagán. I have had the pleasure of reading a few of her books, most recently Forever is the Worst Long Time which I adored, and it became an all time favorite book.
This Won't End Well does not stand out as much as some of her other books, but what I love about Pagán's writing is that her books come off as light hearted, but they address important issues. This Won't End Well is a story about Annie's life, and finding herself in the midst of hard times. It's a witty, sassy, smart read that I'd definitely recommend if the subject sounds interesting to you, or like me, you've loved her other books.

I tried Hard to get into this. It sounded promising. But it truly failed to grab my attention in the first third of the book. And for that I have DNF. sorry.

THIS WON'T END WELL is an authentic and witty novel that follows a woman's journey of self-discovery, Annie. Through humorous and touching scenes, I enjoyed getting immersed into the protagonist's thoughts and also seeing the characters' development.

Annie is flawed, quirky, lovable and I found myself unconsciously rooting for her choices. With a balance of poignant and "laugh-out-loud" moments, in addition to the original format, this is a good story about life in general.
This book is a quick read that will inspire you and warm your heart. Truly a breath of fresh air.

This book was extremely quirky in a really fun way. When Annie loses her job in her beloved lab, the world becomes a very different place. She is engaged to a man that has decided to live his dream of living in France. During his time away, she opens up to life's new possibilities. and turns her introverted nature into becoming more open to possibilities. I liked that this was a good casual read and that the characters were so original. This author does not disappoint. Thanks for the ARC, NetGalley.

Annie Mercer loves order and organization. But lately, it seems like her life is anything but orderly. Her fiance, Jon, called her on the way to the airport after he decided he wanted to go see Paris for a month. She has just quit her job as a chemist after her boss was inappropriate with her and due to an unfair non-compete clause, she can't even work in chemistry for two years. And some strange bombshell has moved into the neighborhood. Annie has decided she needs a sabbatical from people. But when Annie sees the new neighbor with quite the shiner, she starts to worry. Who is this woman and who has been hitting her? While she is being a concerned neighbor she bumps into a private detective, Mo. Mo won't tell Annie why he has been hired to follow Harper, but she finds herself bumping into him quite frequently. For a woman who loves order and has sworn off meeting new people, Annie's life has turned into a chaotic mess full of new people. Will her life ever get back to normal or will she embrace the chaos way of life?

This Won't End Well is a light-hearted read told through a series of journal entries, emails, and text messages. Annie Mercer is a sweet character with strong elements of "Sheldon Cooper." She has a scientific brain and has a hard time buying into things like essential oils and chakras. And is even kind of mean to her best friend about it. I really loved Mo in her life for that very reason. Mo is a laid-back, take things as they come kind of guy. Together, they balance each other out. Jon, on the other hand, why would you leave your fiance and tell her not to contact you for a month? How can you expect to stay engaged after that happened? I know I sure would have kicked his butt to the curb. But it didn't really play out the way I expected. CLICK HERE FOR SPOILERS.

Bottom Line - On the surface, This Won't End Well is a light-hearted, witty novel. But underneath that wit are some hard-hitting topics like sexual-harassment, PTSD, racism, and school shootings. It makes for a fun and engaging story.

I did not enjoy this one sadly. It did not hold my attention. I may just not have been in the right place at the time to properly read and enjoy this book.

This was a quick read, but featured characters and a storyline I just didn't love. I felt the plot moved entirely too slow for my taste, and none of the characters were developed in a way that could allow the reader to truly connect with them. I did enjoy the combination of letters, journals and emails, which added a unique element to the story, but overall, this one just wasn't for me.

I loved this book - so delightful and is just what I needed to read right now. I loved the character of Annie, her quirks, and most of all the story of hope. If you loved Eleanor Oliphant or The Rosie Result, you will enjoy this one. I so didn’t want it to end.

I typically go for more dark and dramatic reads, so this lighthearted and humorous book just wasn't really my speed, but I think others may enjoy this.
