This romance was very sweet but just ok for me.
It is the lovestory between Vincent a former poor boy now self made billionaire and Reece a socialite who humiliated Vincent when they were kids.
Reece has always been very scared of making mistakes so she keeps to herself and the few friends she has and lives a very sheltered life. Vincent on the other hand is a playboy who parties a lot and does not have the greatest reputation amongst the people in the industry he works with.
And by the way they are neighbors and she has a big crush on him.
To help Vincent’s reputation and to help Reece have a summer of secrets and fun they make a deal. Six dates spread throughout the summer where she helps him make business acquaintances and show that he is settling down and he arranges for her something fun and steamy that she asks him for in exchange for these “dates”.
What will happen with these two very different people throughout the summer and can they keep away from each other when the arrangement is through?
They are a very sweet couple and they fit together. And I loved to read about how their views on each other changed throughout the story and of course their fun experiences too.
But my problem was her brother and all the drama and judgement he put on Vincent and then suddenly everything was just fine with him. That really annoyed me.
Vincent and his judgement on rich people and their entitlement also annoyed me.
And the misunderstandings in the end pulled the rating down to three stars.
I can recommend this book if you are looking for a sweet romance with steamy but fade to black sexy scenes, sweet characters and a lot of drama and misunderstandings.
I got this book from Entangled Publishing and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
4.5 stars - Fantastic read! It had all the heart, spice and character development that I need to really enjoy a read. I hope there’s a follow-up book for the brother, Landon, soon.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
We all know that looks can be deceiving. Reforming The CEO is a testament to that fact. Reece and Vin have a mutually beneficial agreement, fake dating. Vin is a self made successful man, and he needs Reece to fake date him to improve his image as the CEO of his company. Reece is a rich girl, family money, and she wants to have a little fun. There are sparks between them, and they do their best not to acknowledge this chemistry. While pretending to date, they learn more about each other than either could have imagined. This story is a good example of snap judgments and how incorrect such assumptions can be. Reece and Vin are much more than appearances show. I liked the characters and the interaction between them was entertaining and spicy. The premise of the story is not extremely unique, but I liked the message presented by the story. Overall, this is a solid fun read!
Reece and Vincent are from two seemingly different backgrounds. Reece is from a family of multi millionaires and Vincent had to make his own money. There is a history that they hide from each other that could bring them closer. This is a superb story with awesome characters. The author does a great job of highlighting the personalities that make the characters real and lovable. It gets a little emotionally intense when they both reveal the deep scars past events from their childhoods have had on them, but she makes it all better with the happy outcome.
I enjoyed Vin and Reece's story. To Vin, Reece has it made. She is the daughter of wealthy parents, a "princess" who seems to fit in all social situations effortlessly. Reece is impressed by Vin. He's a self made successful man who appears to be comfortable in his own skin. What they don't realize, and what causes problems for them both, is that looks are deceiving. They have to work through their issues to realize they are both worthy of each other. Enjoyable romance.
Oh how did I love Reece and Vin! The perfectly mismatched matching bookends. They both have their own agendas that positively made this story so perfect.
Reece is the youngest of an uber wealthy family she was adopted into as a baby. Out to prove her own worth, she decides to step out of the expected role her family has set for her, moving into her own place with her bestie and setting her sites on her distant, and extremely hot neighbor. Vin has known her since childhood, one incident when he was young with her in particular left him at very loose ends and set him on a course of proving himself. Owning now an extremely successful business that's about to go public, he is the talk of South Beach with his very public and not so private image. His board wants him to clean it up, meeting Reece at a charity event gives him the perfect opportunity to do that. It's the how they do it that keeps you flipping those pages and wanting to know more. Reece is all too happy to help and has her own suggestions as to how. These two have not only history but their own issues to deal with. The chemistry between these two is off the charts and I loved every minute of watching them dance around each other, and at the same time dealing with those unexpected feelings! Gah! So very delicious! There's supposed to be an expiration date, or is there?
There's so much more going on here than we can imagine and did that ever keep me sucked into this story. Perfectly written and I would definitely read it again. It's pure romance candy!

Reforming the CEO by author Marisa Cleveland is about Reece and Vin, a good rich girl and a bad boy who has worked himself up from the bottom. They are neighbors and agree to fake date each other in order to reach their goals. Vin wants to be taken seriously and gain new investors for his company and Reece wants to have fun with someone without having to commit to a relationship. Both find what they are looking for but during the course of their fake relationship, they also realize that the other is not who they thought they were. It made me think about how we make judgments about people without knowing anything really, and how much it affects.
I did like Reece and Vin as characters, but the side characters were a bit one-sided, we didn't really get to know them and see them as complex people. I am wondering if Marisa plans to continue writing about these characters as there were some things we did not get answers to.
Reforming the CEO is the first book by author Marisa Cleveland I've read and boy was I impressed. Great writing, super hot chemistry between the characters and just enough angst to make the story interesting. I'm looking forward to reading more by this author.
This is a new author for me and I really enjoyed this story. Its a fun 2nd chance at romance with a fake relationship angle between the rich girl and the bad boy who is now rich as well.
Vin and Reece have known each other since they were kids and now they are neighbors. She is the rich golden girl and he was the scholarship student at their school who was friends with her brother. The two start spending time together when he is a sponsor at a fundraiser Reece plans.
Reece is a rich girl who was adopted and her parents were kinda a nightmare. This caused some miscommunication with Vin when they were younger and so he kinda has always hated her and not really seen who she is. When he needs her help to help his company she agrees to fake date him if he will play the bad boy with her and give her a fling. And that is how they start to get to know the other.
I really enjoyed both characters and this story and cannot wait to read more from this author.
I have mixed emotions about this book. I liked Reese and Vin’s story, yet there was something that was missing. They had good chemistry, it did start very promising at the beginning and somehow seemed to unravel a bit.
Vin was charming, a real gentleman. He was even very respectful of an ex-flame that certainly had a stalker problem. She was a little over the top and yet he found a way to be nice to her and not put her off. Reese was our good girl that has her insecurities. Adopted at a young age, she grew up with the fear and insecurities. Fear of losing her family and insecure of what she contribute to the family business. She found in Vin the security and the ability to bring her hair down.
Like I mentioned, they had good chemistry and their little “ challenges” made it very interesting. Supporting casts where introduced and yet you wished you got a little more. The brother came off as a jerk instead of a over protective brother. We did not hear much of the parents until the end. The end felt a bit rushed too. It left me wanting for something else.
Thank you for the opportunity to review this book.
A sexy playboy CEO? Check! A good girl socialite who has a dirty mind and is looking for the perfect candidate to fulfil those elicit fantasies? Check! Lots of love scenes to play out those fantasies? Double check! This romance has all the ingredients to leave you blushing, hot, bothered and more than a little envious. You will not want to put this down, trust me!
Vincent Ferguson has only had one dream since he was eleven and that is to show the world and in particular one perfect princess that he is worthy. He built an empire from scratch and has clawed his way to the very top. Of course it wasn’t all work along the way. He has also made a name for himself as a bad boy player who has no intention to be claimed or tied down by any woman. But on the verge of going public with his tech company, he needs to clean up his player image. And what better way than to be seen with a squeaky clean socialite?
Reece Rowe has lived her whole life trying to please her adoptive parents. Organising one fundraiser after another she knows everyone to know in South Beach and is loved by all. Having lived a pristine life, she wants to just have fun for a change. Maybe have a summer of secrets with a man who seems to be more than capable to deliver and make all her fantasies come true. So she strikes a deal with her playboy next door neighbour. In exchange for her company for the summer, he will fulfil all her sexual fantasies. Sounds like the perfect plan until feelings start getting involved.
A delicious romance that you will finish in a heartbeat and leave you wanting for more. Hope that there will be many more additions to come!!!
I voluntarily read this ARC for an honest review - all thoughts and opinions are mine and unbiased
I really enjoyed this
Loved the characters and their chemistry. This is a quick, fast paced read
I really liked the characters. They had debth. The story was fast paced and Vin just makes you swoon. I love how it showcases that there are two sides to every story and that everyone is going through something. It's a solid, go-to, lovely book but the steamer scenes could have been a bit more elaborate as could have been the ending. It felt a bit rushed.
Reforming the CEO is a quick, sweet, fun story. However, it lacks reality and depth so I didn't find myself connecting with the characters. If you are looking for a second chance love with a unreal happy ending, then this is the book for you.
I received a free ARC from the publisher in exchange for my honest opinion. All thoughts are my own.
Reece and Vincent!
Reece Rowe enjoys doing charity work but when her family asked her to take over the family foundation she wasn’t so sure. Reece wanted to explore life a little bit more than dating the boring guys that her family expected her to date but when she found out that her neighbor, Vincent Ferguson needed to improve his playboy reputation so his company could go public as planned. Vincent had grown up in a poor family and used a scholarship he received from the Rowe foundation to be able to go to good schools and always felt he wasn’t good enough but when Reece asked him help her with her checklist, he knew that dating Reece until the company went public would help both of them.
Reforming the CEO is all about two people dating to help each other but things change when they fall in love but don’t tell the other and miss opportunities to actually talk to each other.
I’m hoping the next book is about Landon and Amelie!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Reece is an adopted rich girl and Vin a poor kid turned millionaire. They have a lot more in common than they know. And though they are neighbors, they have had hardly any interactions. But all that starts to change from the night they attend the same charity function.
Now that they have entered a mutually beneficial agreement, spending time together brings feelings into play, feelings they don’t know how to handle.
Reforming the CEO is a fun, entertaining and sexy read. Their chemistry is super hot and their interactions funny. I had a lot of fun reading this book and look forward to reading more from the author.
If you count a meeting when Vincent was 11 and Reece was 5, then Reforming The CEO is a second chance love story to top them all! Marisa Cleveland works her magic with characters who, although they are smart and successful, have moments of crippling self doubt.
Thanks #Netgalley for the opportunity to read this advanced copy in return for an honest review.
I loved Vin and Reece's story. I liked how it started, not your typical love story. This book was super sexy, steamy and funny. They both are clearly into each other but can't see what's right in front of their face!!! This book had me laughing out loud from time to time. Also I really like how the author wrote about Reece's past/ issues. How having money isn't everything and this character proves that. Great read!!!
This is a sexy and fun read that I thoroughly enjoyed. I loved the characters and the way they interacted. Reece is the adopted rich girl who never feels good enough, while Vin is the poor boy that made good.
They're neighbors who begin an arrangement to meet the other's needs and, along the way something more developed. Too bad neither thinks the other will put them first...
If you enjoy the genre, you will love this book. The ending was perfect and brought a smile to my face. Put this one on your TBR list. I'm looking forward to reading more by this author.
The CEO/Socialite romance was fun to read, but full of more lies and secrets than normal. Their problems with realtionships was all insecurity, but we didn't see any moments where they were alone and giving anything of themselves. Ultimately they wouldn't have gotten together without their friends forcing them to get over themselces and translating the other person's actions for them. They never seemed to build the foundation I wanted for their relationship to mean anything.
