Juliette Cross always amazes me, her Paranormal / Fantasy Romance is absolutely always perfection and Coldest Fire is yet another amazing read.
Not only was the romance on point, delicious but the action - Coldest Fire was dynamically thrilling. Ugh I loved Uriel and Nadya's story is probably one of my favorite romances, their obvious attraction and feelings that were being denied fueled so much of the storyline, I was left drooling and yelling at that from the book.
An unlikely pair that team to bridge the connection between heaven and hell. Juliette Cross’ series transforms the life of an archangel to life.
Coldest Fire is the third book in the Dominion series by Juliette Cross. It's a great story and makes me want more by this author.
I really loved this book. It was amazsing. The characters are awesome. Great novel! There was tons of action. I loved teh fight scenes and new world. Can't wait for teh next book in the series!
Juliet cross can do no wrong. She is such a force in literature. This book was so monumental a grab my attention from the first page I could not put it down I loved it so much it was so emotional so sexy so inviting the characters were so relatable I loved literally every page!
I absolutely enjoyed this book! I did read it months after it's publication and I regret it! I will be reading the first books in this series! This book was one of the best books I read in 2019! Nadya and Uriel are perfect together! And because I came into this series blind, I was really surprised with the whole story and world-buillding!
Wow I'm just stunned with how good this title was. I just had so much fun reading this title and getting to along for the ride with these amazing characters. I'm so excited to see what's next from this author.
Uriel and Nadya are quite the pair. As an Archangel Uriel has been benevolent towards humankind in the fight between Heaven and Hell. When he is captured and tortured at the hands of Vladek and his minors, it changes him.
Nadya belongs to the Demon world and has witnessed the atrocities her kind is capable of. She saw what her own sister put Uriel through. When she managed to escape she made it her life's mission to help humanity in any way that she can.
Uriel approaching her for help to eradicate Vladek and his reign of terror is the last thing she expects. Even more, she never expected that she would fall for him.

On a normal day, I don't really read very many paranormal romance books, however, I decided that Coldest Fire looked very intriguing, and I was wrong! It was SO MUCH MORE than intriguing, it was straight up EPIC, and now I need to go back & devour every last book by Juliette Cross. This is the story of Uriel, an Archangel, who is determined to get his revenge on the evil demon Prince, Vladek. See said evil demon Prince had imprisoned him in the past, and while he appears to be healed now, he still carries some dark rage towards Vladek, and I couldn't blame him one bit. He has to ask help from an unlikely source, in powerful witch, Nadya, who had escaped from her own torture at Vladek's evil hands. So since like pain recognizes like pain in this case, Nadya sucks it up to help him. So, off they go on a HUGE & DANGEROUS journey that kept me on the edge of my seat, not bothering to move until every last page was finished. Oh the intensity seeped out of the pages, while the twists had me doing my best to actually drop f-bombs, though I felt guilty for it in this instance. Oh, I can't forget to mention that whole issue of maybe just maybe hearts thaw & awaken on this journey. If you want to find out for sure, then just hit that one click button! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!
Archangel Uriel is hell bent on revenge on the demon prince Vladek. To get into the prince’s impenetrable fortress, he’ll have to fight in the pits of the underworld. And he’ll need the help of the last person he can trust –– the demon witch Nadya. The writing style didn't hook me in the start but then it slowly got better. I'd be interested to read more from the author
This is another great paranormal read from Juliette Cross. Archangel Uriel is back in the last place he wants to be. He needs help from witch Nadya if he wants to destroy the demon prince Vladek. Nadya has never expected to see Uriel again and is ready to help him when he needs her. Although Uriel hates witches- with a reason-he can not help but fall for the little Nadya. Nadya has so many secrets and is scared of what will Uriel think of her when he finds out. Will they stay together and be strong enough to defeat the demon prince. I liked the story and the characters. The way they heel eachother and fight for their love. It was great that the story was not predictable and that we saw the characters from other books and how are they doing.
I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for NetGalley
What a way to end a series!!! Giving the Archangel, Uriel a quest for revenge and a woman to wake his heart. Steamy, sultry and a duo to team up…both been tortured by the demon Vladek.
Uriel, who doesn’t like witches, must trust Nadya, a witch, to help him rise through the pits to get to Vladek.
Uriel is dark, Uriel is light and together they must find a way to conquer the evil and die trying.
Again, what a way to end a series! Cross’s writing style catapults the reader into the Dominion world and makes demons, angels, witches and so much more come to life.
Coldest Fire is the third and most recent installment of the “Dominion” series from this beloved author Juliette Cross. I meant to have this review out way earlier but it took me longer to read this book than I had planned ( last half of 2019 I had a pretty bad book slump) So I finally got this read and man why on earth did I WAIT so long for this book because it kicked my booty y’all!! I had such a fun time with this beloved story. Now I first want to point out that unless you are like me and can catch on pretty quickly, read the previous books. It has this world-building that is pretty extensive and other character lines that will probably make more sense if you read the connecting books to make sense of everything. I was a bit confused in parts and yeah that is my fault. But this story is still one of the BEST mythological fantasies I have ever read and I need more
Our story begins with our heroine who is Nadya, who is a demon witch and is in hiding from her enemies. She lives on the outskirts in a cottage and gives to others whenever she can with her healing abilities. But then she gets some unexpected visitors that need her help and Nadya knows she owes it to Archangel Uriel. Uriel is out for revenge, he is finally freed from captivity and wants to destroy his enemy but he needs the help of the witch to get into a series of mythological fight pit circuits and so he and Nadya join forces. But Nadya has her own personal reasons for helping Uriel, she feels shame in not helping him more and also she wants to get even with her evil sister but by joining with Uriel she not only will have to face her greatest fear but also discover a transcendent love with Uriel ….but she will need to learn to fight for the man she loves
Coldest Fire ….WHEW…..this book blew my mind away and I totally didn’t mind it hehe honestly though why have I taken so long to read this lady’s work before? Because I am going to buy the previous books and read them as soon as I possibly can because this book was spectacular in every way. I would describe this as a mix over between Mythological Fantasy and Urban Fantasy with plenty of delicious romantic entanglements in between. Now I want to say that if you are the type of reader that needs to read a series in order so you don’t get confused or lost by certain events or character connections—do NOT start with this book like I have done. It does have other connections and storylines that I was missing out on. Now I am the type of reader where I can catch on to it but many readers aren’t like that. So just beware of the world-building elements beforehand. Despite some moments of confusion I simply adored this story in every way.
The romance that builds between Uriel and Nadya was breathtakingly beautiful and precious. I felt so touched by their connection. Now at the first its a bit of an unrequited love especially from Uriel. He is pretty focused on his revenge and does view Nadya has an enemy at first but he warms up to her when he sees her true character and that she is vastly different from others he has known. Both Uriel and Nadya have both been traumatized and abused by their previous captors and so they actually have quite a bit in common. As they start to work together to take down their enemies, a burning desire builds between them and quickly turns into a deeper sense of love and devotion to each other.
Overall I found this story to be so exhilarating and this story so well written this author is up there with all those other powerhouse authors like Illona Andrews, JR Ward, and Nalini Singh. I honestly can't recommend this book enough especially if you love UF, Fantasy and PNR.....its a book that will blow your expectations out the window and captivate the hearts and minds of its readers....A TRUE JEWEL!!
Holy. Freaking. WOW.
I knew Uriel was going to be one seriously badass archangel set on revenge but damn! he totally blew me away with all his alpha badassery.
While the romance between Uriel and Nadya is a standalone and it can be enjoyed as such, I strongly suggest reading the first two books in this spinoff series, Darkest Heart and Hardest Fall. I’d even go as far as saying if you really want to know Uriel, starting with the Vessel Trilogy wouldn’t be a bad idea. Especially when it’ll explain in-depth how the world descended into the chaos, it is in and you’ll get acquainted with all the players on the board—good ones, evil ones and those in between.
Now, I don’t want to give anything away, so I’ll just say Coldest Fire is full of action with pit fights, combat and all-out battles along with an incredibly sweet romance and hot as hell sexy shenanigans.
Uriel is one powerful mofo, and although he was understandably closed off in the beginning after the ordeal he went through, he almost immediately found himself being melted by the lovely Nadya. Once he let himself start to feel and the more time he spent in the company of the witch, the attraction and connection they shared could not be denied. Uriel was a totally dreamy H, all gruff and broody, protective, bossy and alpha sweet.
I must confess that I was a little apprehensive at first about Nadya. You see, Ms. Cross writes the most kickass leading ladies ever, and I just wasn’t sure how sweet, caring and timid Nadya was going to fit that role. She wasn’t a warrior like Anya, Bone, or some of the ladies in the Vampire Blood series, but that doesn’t mean she wasn’t kickass. Her devotion to helping others, right wrongs, and her determination to keep Uriel safe even if it meant walking into her worst nightmare made her one hell of a fighter and I loved that about her.
Even though I was a bit disappointed Genevieve and Jude didn’t make even a small appearance to kick some demon ass, I absolutely loved everything about Coldest Fire. This was an epic ending to a superbly well done and incredibly interesting series and I hope to hear more from this gang sometime in the future.
JC has a wonderful knack for pulling together a fantastic angels and demons world with romance. This is my second book of hers and can’t wait to read more.
Set in a post apocalyptic world where angels and demons rule there is a new world order. Our heroine has survived torment and abuse at the hands of a demon prince and now lives in isolation. Archangel Uriel however needs her help to destroy is arch nemesis demon which catapults her back into the world she was trying to escape.
Both hero and heroine have emotional and physical scars having both suffered at the hands of evil but the way they both help each other to heal is beautiful. The complimented each other perfectly and led to one amazing romance. As the lover of all thing apocalypse and post-apocalyptic worlds do I wish there was more on that yes? But am I complaining I got all the romance? No! If you love paranormal romance then you need to check this whole series out (they can definitely all be read as standalones).
COLDEST FIRE is the third and final full-length instalment in Juliette Cross’ post-apocalyptic, dystopian DOMINION fantasy, romance series focusing on the fight for control and power- the Great War- between Heaven and Hell. This is Archangel Uriel, and witch Nadya. COLDEST FIRE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary. The Dominion series is a sequel to the Vessel Series
Told from dual first person perspectives (Uriel and Nadya) COLDEST FIRE follows the building relationship and romance between Archangel Uriel, and witch Nadya. For months Nadya had been imprisoned in Estonia by demon king Vladek, while Uriel found himself the prisoner and slave of a powerful witch known as Lisabette. Freed from his prison Uriel goes in search of Nadya, the witch he considers in league with the demons of hell.
Uriel is desperate to return to destroy the self-proclaimed demon king Vladek but his only way to Vladek is through the fighting pits with the help of a witch he doesn’t trust. After his tortuous months under the control of Lisabette, Uriel looks at all witches as a pock against the world. But Uriel needs Nadya’s help, and it’s with her help that Uriel will find himself falling for the woman that has stolen his heart.
The relationship between Uriel and Nadya begins as a business arrangement but our couple originally met when Nadya and Uriel were first imprisoned months before. Uriel needs Nadya’s connections but Nadya struggles with memories of torture and abuse at the hands of a demon Uriel is determined to destroy. As plans are made to get Uriel into the fighting pits, our hero finds himself falling for the broken witch. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without he use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.
There is a large ensemble cast of energetic and colorful secondary and supporting characters including demon king Vladek, Lisabette witch, high demon Yorick, and the high demon of Moscow Skaal. We are reintroduced to Kat and George (The Deepest Well .5), Anya and Dommiel (The Darkest Heart #1) and Xander and Carowyn aka Bone (Hardest Fall #2).
COLDEST FIRE is a character driven story of betrayal and revenge; of trust and forgiveness; of heartbreak and love. The premise is engaging, entertaining and thrilling; the romance is seductive, spicy and intense; the characters are sensitive, spirited and charismatic. Juliette Cross writes from the heart: her characters are enthralling, sexy and imaginative; her stories are brilliant and intense.

An exciting and gripping paranormal romance that kept me hooked till the end.
I didn't read the other instalment in this series but I will surely make amends and I really liked this one.
The world building and the characters are amazing, the plot is engrossing and entertaining.
Even if I had no issues with the characters or the plot I think it can more appreciated if the one read the rest of the series.
An excellent read, highly recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine.
Be still my heart! Coldest Fire is a magnificent ending to a phenomenal series by Juliette Cross. While the books are technically stand-alone, there are characters and references to the previous books in the series. I highly recommend reading the series in order.
Nadya and Uriel have something in common. Both slaves at one point - Uriel to Lisabette and Nadya to demon prince Vladek - Nadya and Uriel have escaped. The scars inflicted, internally and externally, have influenced how both characters have lived since escaping the clutches of their tormentors. Nadya is in hiding and Uriel has been planning a way to wreak revenge upon Vladek. When Uriel's plans involve infiltrating the fighting pits and clawing his way to Vladek, he knows the only person who can get his foot in the door involves the one woman he can't trust - Nadya, the demon witch.
As Uriel and Nadya plan how to move Uriel through the ranks in the fighting pits, Uriel learns that Nadya may not be the demon witch he has told himself she is since his liberation from Lisabette. Their relationship evolves subtly at first, neither character wanting to take the next step but not wanting to be without the other. Their romantic dance made my heart swell as Uriel and Nadya realize they were meant for each other.
This story is described in such an epic way that I visualized every scene, felt every emotion, and became so absorbed I thought I was there. The description of events at the beginning of Chapter 28 impressed me so much. I was in awe, excited, and had a definite "what now, bitches!?" reaction the way the author presented the scene. I couldn't ask for better writing than what I find in all of Juliette Cross's books.
I'm sad to see the stories of the characters from The Vessel Trilogy and the Dominion series come to an end. I enjoyed every book that lead to Coldest Fire. I was captivated by each story, the characters, and the setting of each book. The uniqueness of each story kept me interested, I was happy about the crossing over of characters, the writing style and plot kept me engaged, and the swoon-worthy romances lifted me up and filled me with joy.
Goodness, goodness me! This is another masterpiece of writing in this fantastic fantasy world created by the always fabulous Ms. Cross with spectacular characters and a thrilling storyline. This story finds Uriel, the beautiful archangel, on the mend after his escape from the torture by Vladek demon witch, Lisabette. Those two are such wonderful villains that you love to hate. Uriel wants his revenge and to stop Vladek's demonic treatment of humans and other creatures. That archangel is epitome of goodness! Uriel finds himself in need of help from the one person he has no interest in every seeing again, the human witch Nadya. Even though she aided Uriel when he was held captive, she's still a witch and Lisabette's sister and not to be trusted as far as Uriel is concerned. What Uriel doesn't realize is that Nadya was held captive and tortured by Vladek and was not a willing subject to the evil demon king like he thought. Uriel and Nadya have so much in common as they both endured atrocities at the hands of the demon king and Lisabette. Nadya doesn't hesitate to help Uriel even at great risk to herself. It doesn't take long for Uriel to see the true goodness and light that is Nadya and, of course, who wouldn't be all tingly in the presence of the sexy golden archangel. He's the bomb! As they plan Vladek's downfall, the attraction and love between the two grows into a beautiful romance. Spine-tingling chemistry and a sweet connection. I was a goner when Uriel used his special magic to heal Nadya of her scars from her time with Vladek. And there's some sexy role playing as Uriel works his way through the demon fighting pits to get to Vladek. Lots of tense action and a heart-stopping thrill ride as they finally reach their goal and the ultimate fight with Vladek that puts Nadya in danger and Uriel calling all his heavenly resources to defeat evil. All the old crew is there for the final battle and it's spellbinding, nail biting excitement. Another epic battle in this outstanding series. I can't believe this is the last story. What about the hunky Maximus and the German rocker demon brothers and the fierce humans? I want their stories! Maybe a new series? I hope so because this left me wanting more of the fantastic world where heaven and hell is unleashed on earth and angels and humans fight the demons for dominance in the timeless story of good versus evil. Plus all the swoon-worthy creatures and heart-melting romance. Absolutely terrific!
I feel like I’ve been waiting for Uriel’s story for .. like ever! Pair him up with an unlikely heroine that is Nadya and it ends up being an absolute win for me!
The one thing about Juliette’s books is that they’re so easy to get hooked on. The Dominion series is a phenomenal series with a super engaging storyline and top-notch characters that you’ll no doubt fall in love with.
I’ve gotta say that Nadya and Uriel had layers for days. There was sooooooo much to them that I should have expected, but it still managed to surprise me. These two have literally been through hell and back. And Uriel’s need to avenge what was brutally done to him, we only really see the surface of it until later on in the book. My goodness, he is a machine and that shouldn’t have surprised me at all. He’s an archangel, like hello!
Nadya was the perfect match for Uriel, they have a mutual understanding and their time together was a healing one. They were different, yet the same. And I was all about watching these two finally fall in love!
Such a great read and it was the best to see previous characters come in, which I’ve dubbed them the dream team.
An absolute must read!
