Even the busiest moms can make time for these short prayers, and any mom will find them relatable, inspiring, or a starting point for more personal prayer and reflection.
I didn't read every single prayer for this review, but I read many of them, both at the beginning and throughout the book.
A great book with quick, easy to follow daily devotionals for the busy parent. It's refreshing that they are short since it gives a busy parent a moment to stop, read and reflect, and hopefully, regain a sense of balance, in their current level of chaos.
Thank you to the author, publisher and Net Galley for my ARC of this gem!
Inspiring and wonderful devotional. As a mom to a medically complex child, this devotional was a wonderful addition to my nightly routine after putting the little one to bed. After feeling overwhelmed and run down with all the day to day routines needed for my child, I was definitely called to this when I saw it on NetGalley. Thank you for the ARC. I will be purchasing multiple copies for other mom friends!
I absolutely love the ministry behind and through this book. There have been countless times I’ve come across a post of theirs on social media and it was a reminder that God sees me and I’m not stranded. This book is one big reminder. Wonderful work, inspiring, and encouraging!
Oh my goodness! I love this! These prayers are simple and so fitting and relatable. I am definitely going to be using this through the year. I love that I received this ARC on January 5. So I can start fresh. Thank you so much for this copy to use when things get tough or when I want to focus on what's important. I am a busy mom of three and sometimes it can get overwhelming. This book is set up in an easy use way and will be so helpful.
I found this devotional very interesting. The devotionals are more like 3 minute devotionals. But very pointed. With journaling and prayers these devotionals can start your day off on a good foot. The only thing that I would suggest to add would be a topical index so if I needed an extra touch of encouragement for a particular reason I could automatically flip to thee devotional.
I received a complementary copy of this book. I was not required to write a positive review.. the opinion I have given is my own. I am disclosing this according to the guidelines.
this is a great book of prayers for moms. i really enjoyed the devotionals, would highly recommend..
This book is like a lifeline sometimes, and a good guide at others. It definitely helps you bring to mind things you might not often pray for. In that way, I loved it. I like that you could keep going through it yearly and be able to pray over different mothers every day. At other times I wanted to cry because the prayers were so well put for things I was going through. It bolstered me thinking that someone might be praying those prayers for me that day. It’s a cool addition to your nightly prayers.
This book is exactly what my mom heart needed. In the trenches, up all night, scared and wondering if I am doing any of this right at all.
Loving my children but being exhausted and overwhelmed by trying to parent in a wholesome way every day.
This book gave me hope, comfort, and peace that all moms face hardships. It gave me that support and understanding in small doses, to remind me every day that I am not alone.
I think this book is a great gift for any mom or mom to be.
This is a beautiful book of prayers. I love that there is a variety of prayers and if a situation applies to you, then it can be balm to your heart. By having such a vast selection of prayers, it also allows the opportunity to take the focus off yourself and pray for other moms.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions in this review are my own.
This was a lovely devotional book that really spoke to my mother's heart. Wonderful gift for any mom, especially those with younger kids.
This is a great little book of nightly prayers for Mom. It's very uplifting and reminds you to pray for other Moms.
I received a complimentary copy from WaterBrook & Multnomah via NetGalley and was not required to write a review. All opinions expressed are my own.
This book is so different from what I’ve ever come across in a devotional. It is a book that unites moms who are up for whatever reason to pray for each other. “ @some one needed that prayer” tonight is what I am left thinking as I finish reading off a prayer.
I have frequently received messages from my friends going through this book as it’s dated and we would find each other praying over the same prayer—I find that so neat. Some days it hits home to someone I know and other times not.
Like I said it’s a different devotional that is a quick read per day—maybe a minute or two of prayer. I would recommend a kindle copy just because I find it convenient for those late night reading and prayers.
Maybe not something I would have picked out for myself but it is a book that I like utilizing with other moms. I recommend having this book done with others.
Thank you to Netgalley for providing me with a review copy of this book to read.
All this content was already readily available on their Facebook group. I did not find this helpful.
What a necessary read for all moms today! Thompson and Pitts are able to know exactly what moms are going through and put it in words. This book was an absolute life saver and I have told every mom friend I have to purchase it. Many nights I knew I was getting nudged by God to read this book as it was just what I needed for the trials in my life. Grateful for your words and time put into this book.
This is a great book for taking a little time out of your day to focus on uplifting others in prayer and acknowleding just how difficult yet rewarding being a mother is. I really enjoyed that the daily prayers were short but meaningful. Midnight Mom Devotional is a wonderful way to honor other mothers and reflect on your own emotions around motherhood.
This might be a bit of a “cheat review”, but I requested this book because I knew my best friend and single mom of two young boys needed some comfort.
I requested it so that she could read it while staying with me.
She has been struggling and feeling overwhelmed, because it’s not easy to raise two small boys all on her own.
So, I let her read this book while she’s been staying with me and she said she felt relieved and that it gave her hope and strength, and made her feel like she wasn’t “failing as a mom”.
She’s a very devoted and spiritual person, so I knew, I just knew, that this book would help her.
And after reading it, she immediately went on to order a copy for herself and for other mom friends of hers.
So, even though this isn’t a “direct review” from myself, it comes straight from her, and she’s giving it a full 5 stars, because she said, and I quote, “This was what I needed in this moment!”.
Extremely grateful to NetGalley, the publishers and authors for allowing me to receive this book and review it honestly.

I have read a few things from Becky Thompson and have enjoyed what I have read. I was excited to pick up another devotional book and have on my phone to read in bed at night. This one isn't formatted as well, unedited version I guess. And realistically, it's a short little idea presented and the sentence Today I am praying for... and space for the person to write in. If that's what you are looking for, then you have found it. It wasn't what I was expecting. Seemed a bit dry and empty..
I all too often just fall into bed and exhaustedly exhale my consciousness towards God, sort of a desperate plea for some sleep and a better day tomorrow. This book has helped me be a little more intentional as I say goodnight to my Father. Although the prayers are from a variety of perspectives and not all directly apply to me, they help turn my thoughts towards others I know, rather than just on my own exhaustion.
I do wish there were Bible verses along with the prayers so I could meditate on my Father’s Word as I drift off to sleep.
Some other reviews complain that they are just her Facebook posts, but that’s ok. Authors are allowed to publish on a variety of platforms. As for me, I appreciate a real book in my hands as I look for many more ways to live offline.
I gratefully received an ARC from the publisher and NetGalley in exchange for my unbiased review.
This is a great devotional for moms. I started following Becky Thompson on Facebook after reading through this devotional. This book has some of her past Facebook posts plus new ones. I have purchased this book for a couple of friends as presents. I am recommending her book and Facebook site to friends.
