‘How to Develop a Winning Self-Image: A Psychology of Personal Growth and Development’ by David A. Joyette is a self-help book.
This is a book for those who suffer with a bad self-image. The advice given is designed to help the reader make progress if they are serious about doing so. Along with advice, lots of discussion is made about how self-image can be damaged by ourselves as well as others and institutions like discrimination.
I think the book has the ability to help those who follow the advice given. This was a good book, but the writing style kept pulling me out of the book.

How to Develop a Winning Self-Image is written by a respected Human-Resources-Management trainer and coach. I’m not sure why, but this book simply didn’t resonate with me. I suppose I was looking for something a bit more academic in nature. I’ve been in the personal and professional development profession for many years, so perhaps that is what I come to expect when read books in this genre. Having said that, I’m certain many will appreciate the easy to read style and broad approach. That is truly what this author excels at – breaking down theory and principles into easily understood concepts and practices.
