Loved this book!! Great story and just an upbeat tempo throughout the whole thing. Great weekend read to get you ready for the week ahead.
This book is a real account of what it is like for immigrants coming to America looking for the American dream. The author was brutally honest about the depression and anxiety she experienced during hard times and the strength it took to move to a new Country and start over. I don't watch the author on TV, so was unfamiliar with her prior to reading this book. However, I enjoyed this book a lot despite not having a connection to the author.
Suitcase of Dreams is the story of Hazell McKenzie. It talks about her life as a child immigrating to the United States. It also talks about her life living in New York and all the hardships she went through. It all leads up to her time on Food Networks Worst Cooks in America.
I really enjoyed this book. It is filled with a lot of emotions and I felt all of them as I read this book. I got so much out of reading this and I will definitely read it again. I highly recommend this book and already plan to buy copies for my friends for Christmas.
I voluntarily ready this ARC for an honest review - all thoughts and opinions are mine and unbiased

Well written and engrossing - would be great for book clubs
I really enjoyed Hazell's story and her point of view. It is refreshing to see this side of the story and see how she achieved her version of the American Dream. It wasn't like it was easy but she didn't give up. I liked reading this story and I feel like it would be good for discussion groups too.
