This book offers so many great projects to do with children, especially on those rainy days that you're stuck indoors! I'm a grown adult and enjoyed this book just as much as my 7 year old niece, if not more, and can't wait to do more of them. Easy step-by-step instructions and beautifully bright photos bring the pages to life.

I loved this book so much that after my review copy expired I bought the electronic version of the book. I also follow Alyssa Jagan on Instagram (craftyslimecreator). Watching her videos has become a quick form of stress release (she posts videos of her kneading her slime creations. Some of them are so unique). I would recommend this book to parents with kids, but also to adults looking for a stress relieving alternative to a fidget spinner!

As an educator and the "cool aunt" to boys ranging from 5 months to 23 years old, I try to stay up on trends with youngsters, but slime had passed me by. The author notes at the beginning that "in 2016, slime took social media by storm, and the community is still thriving." She has 800,000 followers on her slime-themed Instagram account. Who knew?

The slimes in this book are all based on common household ingredients, including Elmer's School Glue or Glue-All, baking soda, and contact lens solution. Various additions create different textures, colors, and sounds. There are also ideas for decorating and molding different designs. This is a great rainy day book for kids and adults, especially ones who like tactile hobbies.

Thanks to the publishers and NetGalley for a digital ARC!

Ultimate Slime Extreme Edition is a perfect introduction to the world of slime. Jagan provides detailed instructions and tips that provide perfect results. The recipes included are perfect for both novice and experienced slime enthusiasts. While the book is geared for older children and beyond, there are many activities that can be tackled by smaller children with assistance.

❀ FUN AND INTERESTING

There are so many fun and interesting additions that the author has included to take your slime to the next level. Items such as foam shapes, beads, and scents will give your slime an even more exciting sensory experience. The only word of caution I will add is the fact that the title indicates the recipes are borax-free. This is somewhat misleading, as the author provides instructions for a variety of activators that are not all free of borax.

My 9 year old daughter is all into slime and this book is a dream come true! The book is bright & colorful with great pictures. I had no idea there were so many different types of slime! The recipes are easy to follow, give tons of suggestions for projects and also talks about safety & storage.
Great book for any slime lover!

This book definitely feels like an ultimate edition. There are so many different, fun ways to make slime now, and you can really cater it to your budget and audience to make something unique without a big price tag. I have worked with homemade slime before, and grew up using Borax to make slime and home grown crystals, so I'm really interested to see that Borax isn't needed anymore. All the materials are something I could pick up at Walmart, and if I buy too much, I would likely use them for other things around the house, unlike the box of Borax I have stored in a dark corner from 3 years ago. I would definitely recommend this to parents, caretakers or children's programmers who need to entertain on a budget or need to adapt a more common slime recipe to add texture, or unusual elements. Even looking at the pictures, some of the recipes I just wanted to reach through the picture and touch for myself. I can definitely see the foil and colour slime in my future!

The Ultimate Slime Extreme Edition is certainly a book I could have done with a couple of years ago when the Slime craze hit the UK and my daughter want to make it! Many a day over the summer holidays was spent making the stuff.

This book is divided into an introduction and six sections which cover:
- Slime Startup
- Add-ins for epic slime
- Secrets of clay and snow slime
- Extreme slime recipes
- Hybrid slimes
- Project and ideas

Slime Startup provides the base ingredients and recipes, though many of the Activators appear to be American products or contain boric acid which we struggle to get hold of unless you bought a kit.

Add-ins gives ideas on adding colours, fragrances, glitter, beads and more, and provides a number of instructions on how to make some of your own mix-ins using household items, polymer clay, sponges and foam. Adding clay and fake snow to the slime changes its texture.

Extreme slime recipes allow you to make slime that changes colour, or uses the add-ins made previously to make slime that contains pompoms or chunks. Hybrid slime is the combining of two different types of slime.

Finally the projects and ideas provides details on taking it further with designs, mixing and sculptures.

Each project, recipe or design comes with steps to follow and full colour photography. Measurements are in both imperial and metric. There is a list of suppliers at the rear of the book, but appeared aimed at the American market.

I received this book from Netgalley in return for a honest review.

Thank you to Net Galley and Quarto Publishing Group for an e-ARC of this title in exchange for my honest review. I have two granddaughters that helped me vet this book. They are 6 and 9 and loved it. The formulas are fun, easy to do and we loved doing the activities together.

Wow didnt know that slimeology could get this technical. Visually appealing. So many varieties. We have played with color changing slime when exposed to heat or cold. There are ways to make/fix your slime.

Fantastic for children. Not so much for the adults. My daughter went daft about this book. And begged me to buy it. So you have definitely made a huge impact on the correct age group

This book is a complete guide to making slime. It’s incredibly detailed and the pictures are fantastic! My five-year-old and I had a blast trying several of these slime recipes. The author goes through every detail you could think of and makes a point of explaining all of the ingredients that go into slime and how they work. There are even some trouble shooting tips.

I would definitely recommend this one if you enjoy making slime!

The Ultimate Slime Extreme Edition is jam packed full of new ideas to make slime. The pictures are big and colorful and the instructions are easy to follow. The author divides the book into different categories such as basic white slime, clear slime, and extra thick slime. The next section is all about the mix-ins. There are recipes for typical slime such as glitter, colors, and scents. This book takes slime one step further and includes instructions for charms, pom poms, and even foil. I can't wait to try some of these slimes with my kids. They will love it!

I was surprised to find that the author of the book is an eighteen-year-old collage student. Good for her!
If you have slime obsessed kids, then this book is for you!

So so fun! I have three kids and all of them LOVE slime. I never understood the fascination with it but they love to play with it. We tried to make our own slime before reading this book and it failed miserably. This book has a ton of slime variations and easy to follow directions. I would definitely recommend this to all slime lovers.

I was given an ARC from Netgalley in return for my honest review.

Ultimate Slime Extreme Edition is a must have book! Slime is becoming more and more popular with kids. Every child I've babysat have wanted to make slime so this book was the perfect book to read!
After receiving this book I couldn't wait to use it with the kids I watch.

A lot of slime recipes include borax, which is not good for your little one's hands! Then on the slime kits it has a warning not to get the activator on your bare hands. Well this book is made up of slime recipes that are safe for your children to make! All slime recipes in this book are borax free! To make it better all the recipes are easy to make and are so much fun for the kids to play with.

I highly recommend this book! It would be great for your kids or even as a gift to a child in your life. I will for sure be buying a copy for all the kids I babysit!

This really is a book for older kids who love to make and play with slime. There are so many recipes and a lot of information. I love how detailed everything is. It gives you lots of ideas of things to add in and there are a lot of pictures which are really helpful. It's definitely not a just a basic book. I will be trying some of these with my grandsons as they get older!

I was all over the place with this book. Two of my kids (the youngest and oldest) really like to make slime and my 12 y/o son's friend is also really into it. I see the appeal, and this book has some fun ideas for making creative slime and some good basic recipes.

I like the fact that she gives a basic recipe for about three types (clear, regular and another) and then she tells you different things you can use as activators in each. Some people like using contact lens solution, for example, while she uses Tide Free and Clear detergent with borax.

It's kind of strange that the book advertises all over the place (even in the title) that it is borax-free and then never once goes into why people might not want borax in the recipes. Incidentally, I agree and I avoid borax for my kids' craft recipes too, but if you're going to make a big deal out of it then put in a blurb about why some people want borax free. Also, it's kind of ridiculous because she says her favorite activator is Tide and you have to get the one with borax. And if you're avoiding borax because of health concerns and toxicity, do you really want to just use other toxic things to make craft recipes?

I'm also concerned that so many of the recipes are designed to look and smell like delicious food. She even has you buy bread scent to make a fresh bread dough slime. Why on earth would you want to buy bread fragrance and make a poisonous product smell and look like tasty fresh bread dough? For goodness sake, make a loaf of bread and knead the dough! It's pretty similar in texture, is cheap and easily made, and you can eat it when you're done. There are also recipes for slime where you cut little foam pieces to look like cereal, ones to look like sundaes (covered in shaving cream) and lots of other food versions where you add pieces of brown plastic to look like chunks of chocolate and so on.

I really think this book is best suited to people who are REALLY into making slime and are older. There are a lot of teens and young adults who like slime, and this is more for them than for kids. These are pretty complicated and fiddly and they're more for the fun of making something really cool to show off than to play with as kids play IMO. And basically, the first few pages tell you how to make the recipes and the rest of the book is just "add this and make it look like this" kind of stuff. I don't even know that I'd want to add a lot of it, like pom poms that she says will break down after a while in it and foil pieces that will soon turn it green.

And my last concern is as an admittedly over the top natural-minded mama. I kept thinking time and time again how awful everything about this book is for the environment. Buy a bunch of toxic chemical-based products, then buy equally environmentally disastrous add-ins like glitter and small plastic things, and mix it all up, then repeat often as most of this stuff is more fun to make than use for long and doesn't last long anyway, and then make the next and next. It's spendy (compared to standard kitchen concoctions), terrible for the earth, and dangerous for little ones if they try to eat it. While the slimes are pretty, I am more likely to make homemade playdough and dye it with natural dyes we make ourselves (fun fact about elderberries is that the dye even colors depending on how acidic or alkaline your dough is!). I know that environmental friendliness is not a factor for most people when looking at craft books, though.

As a small note, I'm quite impressed with the author, as she's only 18 and this is something like her 3rd or 4th craft book. She's also very successful on Instagram and other places online. She's clearly an expert on this (not just slime making but marketing herself and understanding the system) and has a bright future.

In the end, I recommend this highly to people who are already really into slime and want to take it further, especially teens and adults. Parents might want to just look up a basic slime recipe online and then experiment with all of the other wonderful concoctions you can make up with your kids. It would also make a great library read for inspiration and to get you started.

I read a temporary digital ARC of this book for the purpose of review.

When my daughter was 10 she was obsessed with slime. Every container we owned was filled with the concoctions she created.

This book brought me back to that. I don’t dare show her for the fear of my house being over run with Cloud slime, snow slime, smelly slimes, crunchy slimes... you name it it’s slimy.

Great how to book with actual recipes. Slime is actually a really cool experiment a. Fun for kids to play with. Supervised.

If your kid is. A slime officianado like mine was I definitely recommend this book
