It’s been ages since I read a book like this, and I really enjoyed it. If it was a film on one of the streaming services I would definitely have hit play!
In short it’s about a wealthy American who wants scientists to reproduce the first cellular life on Earth, thereby disproving the existence of god. He offers up a huge sum on money, and so the race is on across the world to do it, with the obvious religious opposition.
However, fossil evidence found in Bolivia has not yet been made known which will blow everyone out of the water.
It is, rightly so, a very sciency book and you do have to pay a lot of attention to the technical bits even though it’s an easy read. I did get a bit lost at times but it didn’t stop me from enjoying it at all.
My thanks to Netgalley and the publisher
This is an interesting book there a a lot of characters and threads to follow throughout the story but it's well worth reading
Kingdom of the Blue Diamond began in an intriguing way, with the crashing of a meteor in the highlands of Bolivia. From there, however, the plot became generally difficult to follow, with few points of storytelling clarity. The writing, while not totally unreadable, suffered from numerous grammatical and spelling errors as well, contributing greatly to the dragging of the tale.
There were aspects I enjoyed - such as the story's suspenseful execution and its diverse cast of characters - but, overall, this book fell short of its potential.
