There is a lot of data backed information in this book. I definitely learned a lot about the condition of PCOS and about the science behind the DASH diet. I believe I can implement the framework easily and look forward to my results.
The recipes, while tantalizing, do seem on the expensive side, I may look for an alternative DASH cookbook to supplement .

I read all I could of this book. I did read over the recipes and I do intend to try a couple of them out. I was diagnosed with PCOS in 2009 and I try to read what I can about diets that are 'supposed' to help with this condition. Some of the recipes can have a positive impact on PCOS. But at the same time a person must take into consideration the fact that everyone is different just as every disease/syndrome/illness is different. Because of these differences what may work for some might/will not work for others.
The recipes all look amazing and sound really good and I hope to someday be in a position to change my diet to suit my life and disabilities.
I will recommend this book to other friends and acquaintances that may benefit from this diet.

As someone who struggles with PCOS and has many of the embarrasing symptoms, I'm always looking for a natural, easy way to reduce the symptoms without filling myself full of medicine. I was excited to come across and be approved for this book when I came across it on NetGalley. The introduction from the author was a good background on PCOS and insulin resistance that is beneficial for someone with PCOS, as well as someone without PCOS. My doctors just want me to try all kinds of different medicines to reduce my symptoms, so I was excited to see that I can potentially manage my PCOS by changing my lifestyle. Overall, the recipes in the book look relatively easy to prepare and many of them appear to have a reasonable amount of required ingredients. I'm excited to try out some of these new recipes and hope to get on a postive path to managing my PCOS!

Meh. For a person who isn’t very adventurous with food, the cookbook didn’t really bring many recipes that looked appealing. I guess it’s a matter of taste. Bad pun.

This book is highly informative and I feel it is useful not only for PCOS sufferers but those that have insulin issues. I don't have PCOS however, my husband has polycystic kidney disease and is prediabetic. It is a difficult transition for him to move to a healthier eating lifestyle. I found this book useful for many reasons. Health is a whole body approach and this book has solid techniques for making life changed by adding exercise getting proper sleep and changing your eating habits. Admittedly harmone factors are not the same for men but these recipes focus on many of the things he needs to change and it was still incredibly useful because he has high blood pressure and insulin issues. I did have to modify some recipes because certain ingredients needed to be reduced for his kidney health But that was easily doable and I really like this book. I received this book from NetGalley for an honest review.

This is an excellent guide for anyone suffering from PCOS. It starts with background information on PCOS then explains the author's modified version of the DASH diet and how it can help PCOS symptoms. I don't think "diet" is right word here because it makes me think of extremely restrictive eating that cannot be sustained long-term, and that is not what is presented here. I would describe this as the "DASH eating plan." The author provides practical steps to take and recipes to make. I haven't tried any yet, but I'm going to. They look easy, yummy, and healthy.
