I love Mack. I loved him in Bromance Book Club, and I loved him even more now that he got his own story. He was the biggest appeal of this book, and the focus on him made me like this book better than the first. Usually I am all about the female characters in romance novels, butI really did not like Liv. However, I feel like she did grow a little by the end. All in all, super enjoyable and I really hope we get a book about the Russian (and a whole lot more Braeden Mack)

Ugh, this one is even better than the first! I loved that there was a side plot to keep the action going, and I LOVED Mack and Liv. Makc is this super macho guy who acts like he has it all together and like he's got the perfect love life, but once we meet Liv and see them together, it's clear there's a ton lacking from that part of his life. The side characters, the action, the love story, and the writing were all awesome. Would definitely read again.

Thank you to the publisher for the early review copy via netgalley.

I definitely still really enjoyed Undercover Bromance, however not as much as The Bromance Book Club. Undercover Bromance follows Mack and Liv, both characters were in book one as secondary characters. We still get a small amount of the Bromance Book Club and the characters. But this one was nowhere near as funny for me, the main funny parts were basically fart/ poop jokes about the Russian. The other thing was the first book had a bunch of passages from the book that Gavin was given to read. In this book Mack chose a romantic suspense and we got one very short passage from that book.

So this book still was a great romance but that's why I dropped this one down to a 4 star. It just didn't have the same feel to me.

Let me start by saying that I adored the first book in this series so I had high expectations for this next story from the Bromance Book Club. Lyssa K. Adams met every one of my expectations and then some. This book expands on the framework set up in “The Bromance Bookclub” and continues the stories of all the characters with a focus on Mack and Liv.

I don’t want to get into too much plot, but will issue a significant content note for sexual assault. That said, Adams tackles the topic with a deft hand. The characters all respond in many uniquely human ways (good, bad and everything in between) while carefully navigating what it means to address sexual assault and be a survivor. That this topic was addressed while also weaving a romantic tale of two difficult people finding each other is a testament to how well this book is written.

The most unique part of the book is the friendships forged by the members of the book club. Genuine male friendship and intimacy is hard to come by, in literature and in life, so seeing this group of men bond and support each other is a wonderful parallel plot element. What separates “Undercover Bromance” from the herd is this vein of masculine kinship that just feels so great.

After a long dive into historical romances, this series has reignited my love of contemporary romances. Add this one (and the first book in the series) to your “to-be-read” lists immediately!

The Bottom Line
This is an enjoyable romance that manages to bring that heat, heart and humor while also addressing some serious issues. I’m definitely sticking with this book club to see what happens next.

I enjoyed the second installment in the Bromance Bookclub series. It was a fun read that I finished over the course of a weekend, however I don't think it was quite as good as the first book in the series. I didn't really connect with Liv or Mack, although I do enjoy the 'bromance' aspect of the books. I like the side characters and I am interested in future books featuring their stories. There is mention in the book of sexual assault and harassment, so if that;s something that really bothers you, you might want to tread with caution. It's not intense but just fyi.

Undercover Bromance is funny, sweet and fierce romance. Lyssa Kay Adams attempts to tackle many themes in this book and in most cases she succeeds. The book does deal with the sensitive subject of workplace sexual harassment so Trigger Warning. However the way that this subject is dealt with is interesting and I enjoyed the ways that Adams examines it. Both the hero and the heroine are fierce and combative but it is such a treat to watch them lower their guards and fall in love. I think if I had one complaint it would be that there were times that the romance seemed to be put on the back burner in favour of the other plots.

This book continues the awesome male relationships that began in the first one. I love reading about all the guys getting together and working out their problems. It's such a positive picture of male friendship and there are many times in Undercover Bromance that capture this. It was fun to read Mack's story - especially since he was the founder of the bookclub - and watch how he struggled to follow his own advice in wooing Liv but also his reconciling of his past. He was such a standout in the first book and appreciated that we got his story next.

Liv was such a great character and just like with Mack, I loved watching her character progression. I liked the position that the author put her in and I felt like how she dealt with the situation was really interesting. Liv was such a tough, fierce heroine and the author did such an amazing job with bringing her walls down, making her vulnerable and yet never diminishing her spirit.

The Bromance Bookclub was a great, fun read and yet I loved Undercover Bromance even more. This book is fun yet poignant and after reading this I look forward to seeing what comes next.

A group of men who read romance novels in a book club to help them be better partners to their women? Sign me up. When chef Liv Papandreas loses her job at a trendy restaurant due to a #MeToo situation, the last person she expects to help her is Braden Mack. Inspired by the romantic suspense in his bookclub, Mack sets out to help Liv get justice, but somewhere along the way, they may just want to find each other.

Let me just tell you, I am hooked on these male romance readers and I hope Lyssa Kay Adams writes these books forever and ever! I love how she created voices and plotlines so distinct from The Bromance Book Club and it did not feel like she was writing the same plot with different characters over again. A sure sign of talent to me...now, how long before we get book 3?!

4.5 Stars!

I really enjoyed the second installment in this series, but I didn't know if it was as strong as the first one. I will say that I am ready for the Russian to find love!

This was such a fun read! I loved it just as much as the first book! The first few pages had me laughing so hard 😂 This gem doesn’t come out until 3.20 so you have plenty of time to read the first book in this series (Bromance Book Club) before picking up book two (Undercover Bromance). I AM READY FOR BOOK THREE!

Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with this E-Arc in exchange for an honest review.

I thought this was cute, it only took me a day to read but I connected more emotionally with the first one "Bromance Book Club." This one missed the mark on my heart strings. I enjoyed the plot, reconnecting with the book club guys, and the romance was good but there was something incredibly emotional about the first book that I was missing here. Also one inconsistency that got to me is they never showed Gavin stuttering in his dialogue which was a huge part of the first book so I thought that was strange. Overall, this was a cute and easy read but didn't quite live up to the first installment.

Minor Spoilers:
Also I would like to note that this book contains mention of sexual assault, harassment, and a plot to take down the person doing those things. That could possibly be triggering to some readers so caution if that is something you like to avoid.

If you have not picked up the Bromance Book Club which is the 1st one in this series. Then do it ASAP. This one comes out in March 2020. I was lucky enough to get an ARC from Netgalley to read early for review purposes. I'm now sad because everyone else will have something amazing to look forward to in March and I will have to wait who knows how long to read the next. Please, please be the Russian's story. These books are full of fully drawn men with weaknesses, emotions, and such surprising strengths that you will find yourself laughing, crying, stressing for all involved. And that is just the men. The women are full of snark, sarcasm and vulnerability. I love Lyssa Kay Adams writing style. I love the humor, and complicated back stories that abound in her books. Please write faster!

The perfect rom-com novel!

I found that this book had everything I wanted from this type of book. It was like an ultimate ice cream sundae, layers of laugh out loud moments, frustration and sadness, sprinkled with with bits that make me smirk, all topped with some saucy steaminess! All together is was the perfect blend.

This is the second in this series (could definitely be read as a stand alone but it would just make you want get the first one anyway as it’s so good) so I went in with high hopes and it did not disappoint and I will definitely be any future books by this author.

The sequel to Bromance Book Club, this book was entertaining and enjoyable. This follows Liv, Thea's sister, as she attempts to bring the owner of a restaurant to justice for the harassment (both emotional and sexual) of his female employees with the help of Braden Mack. Trigger warning for discussions of sexual harassment and rape.

This book had the same humor that propelled Bromance Book Club forward and I loved the continuation of the Bromance book club in this story. Watching the tables turn on Mack after all the grief he gave Gavin was very entertaining. Lyssa Kay Adams sure knows how to surround her main characters with some gems of secondary characters. My only issue was, with all the charm this book has, it lost me a bit about three quarters of the way through due to some of Liv's choices and reactions to information revealed. She comes around and it all ends well but I wished for more compassion and understanding from her given her stance on issues in general.

All that said, readers are in for an entertaining follow up to Bromance Book Club. I'm excited to watch this author develop.

This book was so much fun. I love the slow burn romance and the intensity of it when it finally came to fruition. I loved the characters. They were so individualistic and fun.

The only issue that I had with this book was that some of the modern aspects that were discussed were a bit preachy. I totally agreed with the points they were making, but it just wasn’t done in a way that wasn’t completely subtle or maybe they didn’t mesh well with the writing. I’m not exactly sure, but I liked the vibe and the goal of the story and the conflict. However the execution wasn’t done as well as I would have hoped.

The boys are back! The was a cute sequel to The Bromance Bookclub. Liv is a pastry chef and sister to Thea, the heroine of the first book. She is prickly and not looking for love. Mack is the founder of the Bookclub and knows how to romance the ladies but has trouble going deeper.
Their worlds collide when they take on a sexually abusive celebrity chef. There is a lot of good examination of the #metoo movement and the responsibilities of both male and female bystanders.
There are fun side characters and a randy rooster and goats!

Thank you to the publisher for the review copy!

This book made me happy. It was even better then the first one, first because of the themes explored and the whole intrigue. I loved the characters betters and the writing seemed improved in every way : more natural conversations, less repetitive self-monologues, etc.

For the book in the book element : I liked that it was less present in this one. The part we got was more meaningful. It helped me get into the main story to not be interrupted all the time by another storyline.

The only thing I must say though is that I keep not liking how one of the characters is just constantly being referred to has "the Russian". I get it, it's a group of guys, they have very basic surnames... But in fact not really. Every other (American) character are called by their names and it just makes me uncomfortable that the comic relief is the "ahah-farts-russian".

I liked it and recommend it to romance fans. You don't have to have read the first one to read it imo.

So cute! I loved the playful banter of the main characters. It was like watching a rom com but it was actually so funny! I loved our main characters and can’t wait to see what’s next

I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED The Bromance Book Club. It is one of my favorite books of all time. Maybe, because of this, I had such high hopes for this book, but unfortunately, I didn't love it quite as much.

What I Liked:
The Bromance Book Club is a book that I was eager to read as there is so much hype surrounding this one. For the most part, this one pans out and it is a funny and heartfelt read.
I liked that this was a second chance romance featuring a married couple. Anyone who has been in a long term relationship or marriage, knows there are plenty of ups and downs, and that a relationship takes constant work. This is a story about a marriage that is in the working phase. I liked that both parties were at fault, and that they both made mistakes. I enjoyed watching the two work through their differences and try to figure out how to make it work again.
I adored Gavin. I felt like he was trying so much harder than Thea. He was the one who refused to give up, and he put the effort into the relationship. I liked that he was kind, caring and that he remembered the small things. I especially appreciated the lengths he was willing to go to save his marriage from joining the Bromance Book Club, reading historical romances, to art supply store dates. He isn’t perfect, and he makes some mistakes, which makes him all the more adorable.
Thea is prickly, and I admittedly struggled with her character. However, it was easier to understand her actions once her back story was revealed. Once I knew why she behaved the way she did, my heart went out to her. One of the best scenes in the book for me was when she went to see her dad. It was poignant and heartfelt. I liked that the author kept it real too.
The Bromance Book Club was hilarious. It was funny to see big star baseball players reading steamy historical romance novels on the sly and then discussing and dissecting them to gain insight into their own marriages. If only this happened in real life. The scenes where the Bromance Club met were some of my favorite in the book.
Another thing that I loved about the book was that the author took wealthy, successful baseball stars and made them relatable. I liked seeing the guys struggle with their own insecurities especially when it came to their wives and girlfriends. The author doesn’t glamorize the baseball players or make them seem larger than life.
After lots of reflection, the book ends in a happy moment like it should. I thought it was the right ending, and I was completely satisfied with the end.
And The Not So Much:
Even though I understood Thea once her backstory was revealed, I felt like she was overreacting and being a little too nasty. Yes, Gavin made mistakes, but she did too, but she was never willing to step up and take responsibility for her actions. Meanwhile, Gavin was analyzing his behavior, apologizing and doing everything in his power to make it right. I felt like she wasn’t even willing to try for most of the book, and her reasons were shallow. I wished I liked her more. She redeems herself, but it was almost too late for me.
I adored the Bromance Book Club, but I was disappointed that the author didn’t bother to flesh out more of the guys in the club. Maybe it’s just me, but I was bothered by the fact that she didn’t even properly give one of the characters a name. He is referred to as the Russian throughout.
The Bromance Book Club isn’t your run of the mill romance. I liked that this was a second chance romance all about repairing a broken marriage. This was a story about reflection, change and righting some wrongs with a little help from the Bromance Book Club. I enjoyed the heartfelt moments as well as the hilarious parts too. This is a fun, flirty read perfect for anyone who wants something different in the romance genre.
