This was a DNF for me. The writing wasn't bad, but I felt like the story was pretty much a travel guide. While I get that Zandra was a travel photographer, I was more interested in the romantic side of the story than the travel side. Also I found Zandra annoying. I know she's been sheltered, but she's way too immature for my tastes, and doesn't listen. She has no problem putting herself in harms way. I liked Blake and I thought he was a good hero. Although this was a DNF, I would give this author another read.

The cover drew me in. I loved how the main character traveled and it gave me the travel bug. I also felt the connection between the characters. Recommend!
Zandra York just got her big break, photographing a major project for a travel magazine. So what if she’s never traveled out of the country before? Or that she’s more adept at deciphering fraudulent financial statements than reading German train schedules? Her brother Jackson is on his way to act as her guide, and she can’t wait to experience Europe with him.
But when Jackson’s overprotective best friend gets off the plane instead, Zandra knows this will not end well.
This was an ok read. I love to travel every year with my family, so a book where the main character is doing just that, I really wanted to try it. I did like Blake’s character, but not so much for Zandra. I found her a bit annoying. The book itself was rather quick and light. Worth the read if you have time on your hands.

Zandra has traveled to Germany for her big break as a photographer, but instead of her brother Jackson showing up to help her out she finds herself face to face with his best friend, Blake. The two of them share an attraction, but Blake doesn’t want to break the bro code and get involved with Zandra. Days and nights of traveling together through Germany however prove that resisting their attraction is impossible. They agree on a no-strings relationship, but it’s obvious that there is a lot more between them than sex. This was an okay read for me, but not one that I would pick up to re-read. Recommended.
Wow I'm just stunned with how good this title was. I just had so much fun reading this title and getting to along for the ride with these amazing characters. I'm so excited to see what's next from this author.
The places they visited were interesting and the humorous moments made me chuckle . Blake is a likeable character with a good hearted personality. Zandra annoyed me, and I found her a bit obnoxious at times. The story just seemed to be missing something and felt flat. It's average but not remarkable-good for an easy read.
An entertaining read with some stand out characters.

This story was sexy, sweet and charming. Lots of smiles and giggles. Such an awesome read. Melia Alexander has an easy flow to her storytelling and she shows this throughout the whole book. She also showed the strong connection between the characters and I couldn’t get enough of them. Such a delightful read that you need to pick up. Happy reading!! 4 1/2 stars ⭐️
Review seduced by a soldier by Melia Alexander .
Zandra is a photographer who has been given an assignment by a prestigious online travel magazine. The assignment is in Germany and it is her first trip abroad on her own away from her over protective wealthy parents. She is supposed to meet up with her brother but it was her brother best friend Blake instead who she has known since childhood. He is a hunk of a man and he will be escorting her to her destinations .
It was a very slow mediocre story line. Nothing real eventful happened the first three quarters of the story just their journey through quaint parts of rural Germany & about the people they met on there journey. No real story to speak of . Very disappointing.
However I did quite like the characters but their storyline didn’t really go anywhere..
Zandra is an annoying heroine. Blake is a great hero but he deserved better.
Many thanks to NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for my ARC. All opinions are my own.
Sweet and steamy…”Will they, won’t they”?
I truly enjoyed this story but it seemed to take soooo long for Zandra and Blake to accept their mutual feelings. With all the sexual tension in this book it still took to chapter 10 for the first kiss and then chapter 22 for sharing the bed. Btw, those scenes are beautiful and my mention here is not truly a spoiler. They really need to be read to be appreciated.
Zandra 2.0 is on her new adventure. She’s left her family’s accounting firm to do what she is passion about, which is photography. She’s been given an assignment by an ezine to cover some events in Europe. Needing help, she called on her brother Jackson who is in the military. Due to a scheduling problem, Jackson sends his childhood BFF Blake who is also in the military but takes time for his best friend’s little sis. Blake is going to be her “tour guide” and “pack animal” on her adventure. Blake is such a sweet, caring and loveable guy. You only want the best for him, which in this case is Zandra.
This is a well-written, sweet and steamy romance. I loved the character development and angst Ms. Alexander has poured into this story. The passion figuratively flows throughout the book: Zandra for her photographic subjects, Blake’s love and protectiveness for those he loves and lastly for each other. I just wish it hadn’t taken quite so long for this couple to stop fighting their mutual attraction. I volunteered to review an ARC of this book through A Novel Take PR and it comes highly recommended.
I found this book very difficult to finish. The H was OK, but the h was very immature and annoying. I'm not sure if the author was trying to make a character relatable to a 20 something tied to their phone/social media, but for myself I could not connect with the h or care what happened to her.
What a fun adventure this book was! I loved the sarcastic and then fun banter these two had together, which only comes from knowing someone a very long time. Blake was so protective, supportive and encouraging with Zandra. It was very endearing and she loved it, to have someone other than her brother on her side. She was determined and didn't want his help, other than being her photography assistant. But he came through for her on more than one occasion. They made a great team and I loved how they both realized they were perfect for each other. Their ending was way sweet and perfect for them, going with the flow, and not in a rush.

Seduced by the Soldier by Melia Alexander, is a complementary romance, and my first book by this author. Zandra York, a photographer, just got a great assignment for a travel magazine, but she has never been out of the country before. Zandra is expecting her big brother to travel with her, but instead his best friend, Blake shows up instead. Zandra is not happy at first. I loved the travel in this book, I have never been to Europe, so it was fun to take the trip with them. If your looking for an fun romantic escape, I recommend this book. It's predictable, but that's what is great about a good contemporary romance.
I reviewed a digital arc provided by NetGalley and the Entangled Publishing, LLC. Thank you.
This was a fun, quick read full of adventure and chemistry.
The descriptions of the travel locations made me want to travel there myself. The unique people they met along the way. The conversations they had and the banter. Such fun.
I loved the relationship between Zandra and Blake. Starting out as long time friends and then growing into more from there. They didn't hide their feelings from each other and that's something I can get behind. Honesty. I like you, you like me. What are we going to do about it?
Unfortunately, both Zandra and Blake had strong plans for their futures. Plans that made it almost impossible to think of a future for them as a couple. Zandra is just starting her dream career as a photographer and Blake wants to go to Law School when he gets out of the military. Something he has always planned on doing. Will they be able to figure out how to have their dream jobs and each other?
I'd really like a book about Zandra's brother Jackson.

This was a cute, sweet read about a soldier who falls for his best friend's little sister after years of knowing each other. Their love felt very genuine and there was great chemistry and banter between them. However, I felt the story went off in unnecessary tangents at times and the ending was way to abrupt for me. I would have loved to see them work through their relationship a little bit more than just a mention in an epilogue. Overall though, this is a great way to warm up your heart this holiday season.
I received a free ARC from the publisher in exchange for my honest opinion. All thoughts are my own.

I usually loved romance that involved brother’s best friend with best friend’s sibling. How the involving parties navigated the so-called bro-code, the familiarity already built between the two MCs; those are among the huge plus. Combined with the blurb, I had quite an expectation of Melia Alexander’s SEDUCED BY THE SOLDIER. Which is unfortunate - for me - that I wasn’t amused at all by the start of Blake and Zandra’s adventure.
See here, I’m not a frequent traveller whatsoever, but even I’m a bit jaded and paranoid over the security of my stuff. If - and it’s a big IF - I had a personal guard/guide along for the trip, I would definitely leave my VALUABLE to that person when I went to powder my nose. To present this character in such light really ruined the story for me. I mean - WHY THE HECK THE NEED TO BRING CAMERA BAG TO THE TOILET!! - NOT LIKE THEY STASHED MAKE-UP INSIDE SAID BAG, SURELY! Oh yeah, I’m fuming. There’s ingénue and there’s stupidity. And this main character practically killed the story before it even started!
What followed to me was a lukewarm flirtation between Zandra and Blake, that I wasn’t bought. And I found the hopping between transportation and “deep thought” the two MCs had to be a bit boring (instead of entertaining). And don’t get me started on the Instagram-ing LIVE in public place (the frequent crime series lover in me howling for stalker/villains in any situation, so it’s kinda hard to take it easy and just enjoy the rom com).
But the silver lining of the story is how the author didn’t rush in nudging the pair to start their HEA. That’s a plus in an overall dry escapade. And I especially like Blake’s interaction with his family, which revealed where he came from - a kind of heartbreakingly touching moment, followed closely by Blake’s relationship with Zandra’s brother. The reader in me clamored for a make-over of Zandra’s persona, though I might be among the minority who felt that way. Oh well...

This is the first book by this author that I have read and I thought it was an ok read. A brother’s best friend to lovers’ romance and this is one of my favorite tropes but I just couldn’t get into the story. The characters were ok but they were not enough to keep me invested into the story. It was a quick read. I was just hoping for more.
I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Zandra is finally going to make it as a photographer only problem is that her brother has organised for his best friend Blake to travel with her. This is the story of how they realise what they feel for one another and how they grow as they travel together. Blake is on leave from the military he is extremely good at what he does but it is time for him to start the next part of his life he has had an interest in his friends little sister for years but knew that he couldn't go there. As they travel through Europe those feelings grow and are reciprocated Can they have a future together.
This is a sweet story that draws you in It is a little slow getting started so do persevere
When I saw this book on Netgalley I was immediately intrigued. There’s just something about that cover that really made me want to read it. So I requested it, and I was super excited to received the email saying I got approved to read an ARC of this book.
There are several things about ‘Seduced by the Enemy’ that stood out to me. For one, Blake’s character. I just loved him. He was this strong, caring and sweet guy. And I really found his character amusing and fun. And the moments he spoke about his reasons for living his life they way he did.. Well.. Lets just say I melted!
Zandra’s character on the other hand was harder for me to like. I found her a little irritating at times. Not sure why though. There was just something about her that didn’t work for me. Luckily I liked her more in the end. But she definitely wasn’t my favorite.
What I really enjoyed was all the traveling in this book. It just was super fun to read about how these two main characters traveled through Europe. Especially since they also visited Lucerne, Switzerland and the bridge where my husband proposed to me. I could easily imagine them walking there. So fun.
The thing that I didn’t like about this book was the beginning. It just felt like I missed something. From the moment this book started I felt like I missed information about Blake and Zandra. Like I missed the first chapters where there is a little introduction about how these characters met etc. Because of this it really took me a while to really feel the connection between Blake and Zandra.
Overall, ‘Seduced by the Enemy’ was a fun read. The romance was sweet, the characters mostly fun and the setting was definitely good. And that cover.. I love it!
