Wow! Such a beautiful cookbook! I love how this book turned out. I love my air fryer, but I don't use it to its full potential. Now I will! I love the fonts used in the books and the photos are really beautiful. The recipes are easy to follow and everything is very clear. The organization of the cookbook is also really wonderful. Great job!
I am incredibly new to air frying injure recently purchasing ours. I absolutely love this book. It has many delicious recipes and handy tips on how to properly prepare food in an air fryer. I thoroughly enjoyed it and I’m sure I will refer to it often. This book is a keeper and I highly recommend it if you enjoy using an air fryer. I received this book from NetGalley for an honest review.
I've been using my air fryer for awhile now and I absolutely love it. I wanted to check this out to see what else I could cook in it since I tend to do just the same handful of things. I was really surprised on what I can cook in there now after looking through this book. There are several that I can't wait to try but my one and only issue is I wish there were more pictures. For me, I'm a visual person and some of the recipes I would've loved to see what it looks like before I attempt it.
I own an air fryer and find it to be easy and quick. However I always feel stumped on what to cook and how to prepare. This was a great book to review and full of a wonderful assortment of recipes! I am looking forward to preparing the asparagus and goat cheese frittata, patatas bravas, tempura shishito peppers, and crispy fried shallots. I highly recommend for anyone interested in an air fryer!
Thank you, Quarto Publishing Group and NetGalley for a digital ARC.
I love this cook book so many recipes to try, first one on the to do list is eggs in a basket for breakfast. Information about air fryers is informative I knew I could cook a big range in my fryer but this cookbook has given me the confidence to try even more. Photos are bright and make the food look desirable and more tempting to try for myself. Information and tips will make my food taste even better.
Comprehensive write up about the recipe with easy to follow instructions and nice ingredients list hi-lighted making them easier to follow.
Epic Air Fryer Cookbook by Emily Paster is a fantastic selection of yummy recipes. Starting with an introduction on how to use an air fryer it then features many recipes for many different occasions.
This book is amazing, full of fabulous ideas and recipes I’d never considered before and definitely not in an air fryer, well presented and formatted, bright, colourful and clear instructions. This book is appealing to the eye, mind and mouth (drool). Fabulous cook book, highly recommended to all air fryer owners
Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for a free copy for an honest opinion
As an air fryer owner, I've consulted many cookbooks geared directly to this appliance. Because it heats food differently than an oil fryer or a conventional oven, it's usually necessary to use recipes specifically made for an air fryer. I've found many air fryer cookbooks to be very basic or even poorly formatted and unattractive.
Emily Paster's Epic Air Fryer Cookbook avoids these pitfalls and introduces the reader to appealing and interesting recipes that aren't covered in other air fryer cookbooks. While reading, I found myself eager to try the recipes for Korean Fried Cauliflower, Falafel, and Lemon-Lavender Doughnuts. Many of the recipes in Epic Air Fryer Cookbook feature international cuisines and I appreciated the opportunity to try new foods using an air fryer. I also felt like the cookbook made use of many different techniques like frying a batter or dough, which I didn't even know was possible in an air fryer. While there were one or two duds, like the recipe for Shakshuka which only used the air fryer to fry the egg, not make the tomato gravy, these were outliers.
Overall, I appreciated that this cookbook introduced me to new recipes and techniques. It offers a unique perspective on air fryer cooking and gives the reader an opportunity to try fusion recipes with flavors from many different cultures. It's also attractively-designed and easy to read.
I'm not typically a cookbook kind of person. I don't buy them, I rarely peruse them and yet a few weeks ago I went ahead and requested the Epic Air Fryer Cookbook by Emily Paster. And honestly, my reasoning for this was solely because my boyfriend had just bought an air fryer for our apartment. It seemed fated, somehow, that such a book should show up on NetGalley right after we'd gotten one.
Now, there's no way I could have possibly tried all the recipes in this book by now--I'm far too busy for that anyway--but I'm delighted to be able to say that this is a book with recipes I plan to keep in mind for many future meals that we'll be using our air fryer for.
I was most excited to see the large mix of recipes available in this book. It doesn't just stick to American fried food--which, overall, I've kind of grown out of wanting to eat for the most part--and to my delight even featured recipes for Indian foods. A little known fact about me online though one very well known to my friends is that my favorite foods in the world happen to be Indian foods. Samosas and Chicken Makhani are some of the most amazing meals I've ever had.
I'm obviously no expert on cooking or cookbooks, but I was incredibly impressed with this one.
I was provided a free copy of this book via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Epic Air Fryer Cookbook by Emily Paster is a Harvard Common Press publication.
Fresh, Fun, and Easy!
I got an air fryer for Christmas last year and now I wonder what how I ever survived without one. I’m always looking for new and fresh recipes to try out and am especially interested in ones that are unique to air fryers specifically.
This cookbook, as promised, has one hundred recipes, divided into the usual sections one expects to find in a typical cookbook.
Included are:
Breakfast foods
Party Foods and Appetizers
Vegetarian meals
Main Courses with Poultry, meat and seafood
Side dishes
Deserts
As you will discover, the air fryer is not just for traditional ‘frying’ but also works like a convection oven. I have tried one or two air fryer cookbooks right after I first got my fryer, which got me off to a good start, while I acclimated myself to the device.
This book is a nice addition to my growing collection! I’d never even thought about trying some of these recipes in the air fryer!! It really is very versatile and a much healthier choice. In fact, we had given up on some favorite foods because of the health risk, but now we can enjoy them again in moderation.
One recipe included was for fried green tomatoes- which was timely for me. We just experienced our first freeze of the season and I still had tomatoes on the vine in my garden- all still very green. So, I had already planned on looking up a recipe for FGT- and now I have one I can use in my air fryer- guilt free!
The other recipe I tried was the Baja Fish Tacos mainly because I had many of the ingredients on hand and was in the mood for fish.
Overall, this is an exceptional air fryer cookbook. If you have an air fryer or are thinking about buying one for yourself or someone else, be sure to pick up this cookbook to go along with it. There are color photos included, and most recipes are very easy to make and do not require hard to find spices or ingredients.
Bon appetite!
4.5 stars
Wow so many great recipes...You can literally find anything in this book- from Chinese to Israeli foods, all kinds of meats, vegetables, desserts...And thank you for a great tzatziki recipe! Highly recommend this book for people who need fun, tasty creative and easy recipes for their air fryers.
I have to admit that after reading this cookbook I decided not to purchase an air fryer, but that's not because this isn't a great cookbook. Paster gives a wide variety of recipes for breakfasts, lunches, dinners and appetizers, and many sound deliciously decadent. I loved how many international treats were included, too. I do wish there had been a lot more photos. There are photos of maybe 1/5 of the recipes. Most of these recipes still aren't healthy, they're just better than a deep fried version would be. Nutritional information is not provided, though I would have loved to see a comparison of the fat content of each recipe as a fried version versus an air fryer version. Recipes use a fair amount of flour but a GF mix could be substituted in most. There are many vegetarian recipes. Some recipes seem like the typical Instant Pot recipes where you make a recipe to work in that gadget but it would really just be better in an oven. For instance, I really wasn't convinced that I need an air fryer (and a separate pan I have to buy to fit into it) to make a frittata. That said, there are some creative uses past the standard chicken fingers and fries.
I've been tempted by air fryers for a couple of years now but I feed a large family and prefer more nutritious foods so I decided it wouldn't be a great tool for us after all after reading this. Also, I now understand that an air fryer just works by being a hot oven with a fan to move the heat around, and you spray the foods with oil. It's basically a convection oven. Since you have to spread each batch of things in a single layer in a tiny basket and then basically just bake them batch after batch, I don't think it's worth the hassle for me. I might steal some of these recipes and make them more traditionally though. :) All in all, it's a fantastic book for those who have air fryers and are looking for more recipes for it.
I read a temporary digital ARC of this book for the purpose of review.
These recipes look amazing! I got my son an air fryer 2 years ago and he has only made fried chicken and french fries in it. We are making the glazed ribs tonight. This way of cooking is so much healthier and we are excited to try the other recipes!
I went to the grocery store immediately after receiving this ARC because I was so excited. & this cook book lived up to my hype! That first night, I made three recipes from it and they were all SO delicious. I've made a few more since then.
The book is filled with lots of different recipes and it was not the same ol, same ol. That being said, there are a lot of non-common recipes which means non-common food. I love the wide range of food that this book covered.
I've had my air fryer for over a year now (thanks for the wedding gift!) and have cooked in it for a while now. But this book opened my eyes to even more possibilities.
The pictures are also beautiful and make you want to make everything!
I got an air fryer a few months ago because I have heard such good things about them and so far I love mine! I have a couple of air fryer specific cookbooks and they have been good but pretty similar in nature so far. Epic Air Fryer breaks the mold from just southern based "fried" foods (fried pickles, fried chicken, ect) and adds fun food from around the world like falafel, eggrolls and samosas. I can't wait to try out these recipes and see how the compare to their less healthy, deep fried counterparts. A cookbook of delicious food from around the world without the saturated fat or guilt is exactly the kind of cookbook I want on my book shelf!
I have an air fryer on my Christmas list so you could say I'm planning to hit the ground running. There were some very helpful tips here for beginners like me and I didn't really feel that any of the information given nor in fact any of the recipes felt beyond my skill set. If I'm honest I thought a few things could have done with a simple mention rather than an entire recipe page because they seemed more to illustrate what the fryer is capable of rather than anything intricate - for example fried tomatoes and prosciutto wrapped asparagus. Another small suggestion would be more photos as I felt that these were lacking for a cookbook and that is a shame since there were some great shots. Still a very good introduction to air frying with a wide variety of recipes from loads of different regions.
Such a great book, I've had an airfryer for a while now and it is my most used item in the kitchen but I had no idea just how much I could be making in it!
I like there is a section on choosing an air fryer and using your air fryer. Some very handy tips.
Some of my favourite recipes here were
Apple fritters
Fried Shrimp with sweet chili dip
and the Parmesan Chicken
I made the chocolate chip pan cookie sundae last night and it was delicious! I'll definitely be trying out lots of other recipes from this book.
Who knew you could make these recipes in an air fryer!?
I’ve been using an air fryer for over a year. I have staples that I exclusively cook in it, but have been wondering what else I could use it for so that I didn’t have to heat up the oven, or settle for soggy food from the microwave. Seeing the Epic Air Fryer Cookbook instantly made me want to find out what recipes it held.
Emily Paster has done a great job with this cookbook. Before getting into the recipes, she goes over air fryer basics, which is really good if you’re still starting out with one. The recipes come next, and are divided into different sections to make it easy to find the type of food you want to fix. Each section is color coded, which helps you to quickly see which one you’re in.
I may not use all of the recipes due to personal tastes, but I found plenty that I want to try, and found some ways to supplement what I already make in the air fryer. Whether you are new to air frying, or it’s something you do on a regular basis, the Epic Air Fryer Cookbook has plenty of recipes to pick from.
I received a complimentary copy from the publisher through NetGalley. All opinions are my own.
This cookbook is fantastic. I am completely in love with my air fryer and use it almost daily but I will admit to being in a "panko crusted boneless, skinless chicken breast" rut...but no longer!
This cookbook has tons of easy, approachable recipes that not only look delicious, they appeal to my husband and finicky teenagers. Win!
Thank you so much to Emily Paster, Quarto Publishing Group – Harvard Common Press, and NetGalley for granting my wish and gifting me with this AMAZING cookbook! I wanted it so badly and it is everything!
I love my air fryer. I fry perogies, fries and vegetables. I had no idea how much I was missing with that the air fryer has the potential to do (I need to check mine to see if I can buy the extra pieces).
I found myself drooling at so many of these recipes and how easy quote a few of them are. I love how crispy and delicious things are when I cook them in the air fryer. I think it’s so great to ditch the oil without sacrificing the flares and the crisp.
These recipes are (for the most part) all recipes I would serve to my family.
