I have been working on decluttering my life for the last 10 years and this book has truly given me some wonderful advice with which to succeed!!
As someone who is a recovering hoarder and has tried several self help advice before this was perfect. Lipp explains things in a way that is simple without being condensing. Just what I neeeded.
Will definitely buy this book.

An excellent book to motivate you to declutter your home...and to give you guidance to actually do it. Realistic.. Five stars
My husband and I have been working on decluttering our house, but it's an overwhelming process and will take all the help I can get. Kathi Lipp does a great job of being gentle yet direct. I'll be referring back to this book whenever I need a reminder for a cleaner home!

I thought this book hit this subject undeniably well. It was more than just becoming a minimalist but truly looking at each area of my home and then each item in that area and asking myself questions to see if what I’m seeing fits. I can be a very sentimental person and there’s just something about stuff, sometimes, that is hard to part with even if it doesn’t fit my space. This book went into that and it really just comes down to giving yourself permission to let someone else get use out of an item and that someone doesn’t have to be me. Sounds like freedom.

Wow, this book was a huge eye opener to me and I learned about my attatchment to clutter in my home and have learned some very useful and helpful information from this book to help me not only declutter the rooms in my home but also how to declutter my life as a whole.
From reading this book I have begun to declutter my home one room at a time and will be using the lessons learned about myself and my home from this book for years to come.
An obsession in the current climate of keeping clutter free and tidy. A good self help book useful to gain tips and ideas to declutter your home and life.

Kathi Lipp gave us recommendations on how not only finish the clutter at home but how to keep it with an easy and uncomplicated approach, I like how she explained how important is to have a clear vision of the use and what we want on each part of the house. I know I am not the only one that wanted to clean the closet and then start “saving it just in case”. I confronted it by what she says and how when we don’t let go the all we are attach to poverty thoughts, it takes time and compromises from everyone in a home it could be a reality. And finally what I like the most and the reason what I think you should read this book, is because it has a Christian approach. Which makes it more agreeable and works according to the lifestyle of each family values.
Perfect read for anyone who feels the pressure of trying to sort out their clutter and it is carefully paced with realistic goals. I liked her ideas and the way she felt that one hundred percent was unrealistic as well as giving us four stages to do things and her own examples of reflecting on tasks.
I really wanted to read this book because my house has been a cluttered mess for as long as I can remember and no matter what I did nothing seemed to change. I felt like I would have to hire a 24/7 maid in order to maintain a semi organized living space. This book was an easy read and really gave me the motivation to tackle my clutter and make my house work for me.
I really enjoyed reading through this book and especially appreciated that it is written by someone who really struggles with clutter! It's full of practical tips and steps to get started, working room by room. It even includes spaces to think about and visualize what you want your spaces to look like as you work through the decluttering process. It's full of personal experiences (good and bad!) and it is refreshing to hear advice from someone who is right in the struggle with you. (not just someone that comes by "simplified living" naturally and claims to be an expert!) If you're looking for a practical place to start in working towards decluttering your home, I recommend this book!

This helps bring ideas for a peaceful decluttering to your home. If you are looking for ideas to declutter your home and reclaim the space in your home you’ll find some organization ideas in this well organized book. Through various chapters with helpful bullet points featuring room-by-room details the author provides a helpful process. Many of the thoughts here you might have heard before or you might even consider common sense, but if you want some help it is nice to have a schedule and ideas to help get you going on a clutter-free home. There is more to it than organizing your home though and decluttering stuff. The subtitle refers to life and by helping organize your home it can help get a life routine in place too. Sometimes being cluttered stresses us or makes it difficult to find things. Finding a way to organize or declutter helps. She helps give thoughts to motivate ideas for decluttering. Her ideas even helps readers rethink the use of the home and how we use the space before us. There are also some helpful worksheets to help the clutter-free process easier too.
I have read quite a few books about clutter. They tend to have many similarities but this one doesnt stand out for me, although it may for others. I have a lot of items in boxes that I don't have the emotional fortitude to go through, and I have a small living space, so when I get tired of coexisting with the clutter, I read a book like The Clutter-Free Home by Kathi Lipp to help inspire me to take charge of the clutter. The problem with Lipp's book is that she doesnt spend as much time on the motivation as she does on the method. So if you're not inspired by the first 1/3 of the book, you may start to tune out like I did when she goes into talking about how to organize each of the spaces. The Use it Up, Wear it Out, Make Do, or Do Without chapter was a good way to close out the book, but overall, I think this book is good for someone who needs a roadmap for how to get started on a big de-cluttering project. If you're not there yet and you are still in a fairly comfortable coexistence with the clutter, this book is probably not the one to snap you out of it.
I feel that, for many, clutter is an ongoing battle so I like to read books on decluttering to spur me on or jumpstart my motivation. This is as important to me as the specific plan. A lot of books have similar processes, but if a book makes me want to actually work the plan, that’s valuable.
While a lot of the process was familiar, there were a few new ideas that I really appreciated. I felt that the author was pretty realistic. She encourages small steps that will lead to big results if you just keep doing them over and over and over again. She talked about spending an hour a week in a deep declutter of a room. She talks of doing this “until you get to a week where you walk in and feel at peace in the room (usually at about 60% decluttered)” (location 356). I found this to be freeing and again, realistic. I’ve found that things get to a point where I’m okay with them and I’m antsy to move on to the next trouble spot.
Lipp talked about using your senses as you think about the purpose of each room. Because of that, I bought an Alexa because I realized I wanted to have music in the kitchen when I’m cooking or cleaning. That one tip has made it easier and more fun to do dishes and cook. I’m definitely going to apply the same techniques as I think through other rooms in my house.
If you’re someone who feels that clutter is a stressor in your life, give this book a try. It was enjoyable to read, full of grace and encouragement, and helpful. Thank you to Harvest House for providing me a free e-copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
The Clutter-Free Home: Making Room for Your Life by Kathi Lipp is an important book for anyone overwhelmed by all their stuff. I picked up this book because I sincerely wanted to free my life from clutter. I think the sub-title really encapsulates what Kathi Lipp brings in this book--- make room for your life. Ms Lipp clearly explains how to think differently about so many little things that add to big, meaningful changes for you and your entire household. You can be free of clutter. I highly recommend this book. It's one to read and re-read as needed. I received a digital copy of this book from the publisher with no obligations. These opinions are entirely my own.
The Clutter-Free Home: Making Room for your life is a well-written guide for decluttering your home. I appreciated the authors approach to writing this book by including practical and realistic ways to get rid of clutter in your home while also including her own personal stories readers could relate to. One strategy that stuck with me was to ask yourself three questions when going through things in your home. They are do you love it, do you use it, and would you buy it again? I look forward to incorporating some of her strategies soon. Every time decluttering seems overwhelming, I will just remind myself of her suggestion to do just do 15 minutes a day and 60 minutes of deep decluttering a week to avoid feeling like it is hopeless and giving up.

The Clutter-Free Home by Kathi Lipp is an excellent book that will not only motivate you to declutter your home but will also give you a specific plan in order to accomplish the decluttering task. Why are you decluttering? What do you want the room to look like ? What questions do you ask in order to determine whether to keep an item or not? There are even checklists of what will probably need to be decluttered in each room. This is just a must have book. I am motivated now to begin my journey of decluttering my home. I will be using this book as a reference as I declutter each room. I have read several books on this topic and The ClutterFree Home by Kathi Lipp is the best one I have read . Let the decluttering begin!! The publisher and netgalley allowed me to read this book in exchange for a fair and honest review.
I love how the steps are clearly defined. Decide, dedicate, declutter, and do your thing for each space and then repeat! It makes it easy for me to accomplish one room at a time without feeling overwhelmed.
This book has changed my perspective in my heart and in my home! The author writes like a friend and helps the reader process their thoughts, feelings, and emotions about clutter. She challenges the reader and motivates progress and overcoming obstacles! I highly recommend this book and I will be keeping a copy on my shelf to revisit the concepts in the future!
