Oh how I love a CJ Tudor novel! This was a creepy, dark and eerie story t had me on the edge of my seat. I was totally immersed in the characters’ lives and read late into the night to see what would happen. I love a good suspense story that gets my heart pounding and gets my stomach in knots. Highly recommend and look forward to CJ’s next book.

4.5 stars. This book was like a puzzle, each chapter a puzzle piece giving me satisfaction of piecing together the mystery. I enjoyed the entire book and can’t wait to read more from this author.

Gabe comes home to a crime scene and police telling him that his wife and daughter were murdered. But this can’t be possible. As he was driving home, he saw his daughter in a car ahead of him on the road. He tried to follow the car but lost it in the chase. Gabe spends the next three years looking for the car and his daughter.

Meanwhile Fran and Alice are on the run from “someone.” Alice is a mysterious child that is afraid of mirrors, has some form of narcolepsy, and carries a sack of beach pebbles around with her like a security blanket. She collects these pebbles anytime she wakes up finding herself in a bathroom with a mirror.

There are also some chapters that begin with a girl in a hospital bed. Her identity is not know until the last half of the book.

Then comes the mystery of The Other People. Who are they? How do they tie into the lives of Gabe and Fran.

It’s just so good. Many mysteries that all somehow tie into each other. Highly recommended for mystery-thriller lovers! Many thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for this eARC.

Honestly this book was just okay for me. In my opinion it was super repetitive and seemed like it just drug on and on.

I gave this book a four out of five stars. I read most of this book in less than 24 hours. I guess wrong on who Fran was related to. I would have enjoyed it if it happened to be my guess. I guess correctly about a plot point to do with the Samariten. I really enjoy the whole book. I liked the different P.O.V.'s. I plan on getting myself a finished copy and plan on recommending it to others. I'm going to work on reading others works by the author.

Very dark and twisted book. LOVED IT!! CJ is an absolutely fabulous wordsmith. I really enjoyed this one. Would make a great movie!!

I am becoming a huge fan of this author and was so excited when I was offered an advanced copy of her latest, "The Other People" and she did NOT disappoint!

This author has a gift with her clever writing style and sets the stage for a dark and creepy atmospheric book. She is becoming a master at the thriller/horror genre and I will read each and every book she writes.

Imagine being on the highway traveling home and see your 5 year old daughter in a car in front of you, a car she shouldn't be in. Just as Gabe starts wondering if it actually is his Izzy, she mouths the word "Daddy" and the car disappears. Three years later Gabe is still searching for his daughter and will not stop until he gets answers.

“Terrible things happen... but they happen to other people." Creepy and clever, this book will keep you on the edge of your seat. 4.5 stars! I highly recommend!

After reading the above quotes in the synopsis, and the opening of the novel, I was buckled in and ready for a suspenseful ride. After the police tell Gabe that his daughter and wife are murdered, the novel for me, started slowing down. From 15% to 45% I was debating if I should give in and DNF this one, but the reviews from other readers and my love for The Chalk Man kept me trying. The Chalk Man was also a bit of a slower burn, but I was so immersed in the story and characters I could not stop listening to it. Having read the synopsis I figured his daughter was still alive and someone who disliked him was behind the murder and kidnapping. As the book dragged I found myself not caring how it all ended. At 55%-75% I started waking up and was again back in the game. The end for this book just didn't make sense or fit into the story, I thought. It almost seemed like a puzzle piece that didn't fit but was forced in to finish the project. I didn't care for The Hiding Place either for many of the same reasons. (view spoiler)

C.J. Tudor has done it again!

The mere thought of seeing your child in the car of a stranger, when she should be at home with her mother, is absolutely terrifying! What a fantastic way to start an amazing book!

You can always count on C.J. Tudor to deliver a creepy, dark read. This is a suspenseful book full of twists and turns that hooked me from the very first chapter. Not only is this story an addictive mystery/thriller, it also has an intriguing element of paranormal that only she can write and not have me running for the hills.

This book pulled out an array of emotions from me. It was frightening at times, very intense, and to my surprise it even pulled on my heart strings from time to time.

In case you haven’t noticed, I have held back from talking about the plot, as well as the characters. This is no accident. All you really need to know is in the synopsis, but if you really want to live on the edge, then I would suggest you skip the synopsis altogether and let the story carry you away.

I cannot wait to see what she dreams up next!

This was a great follow up to the Chalk Man, which I loved. This one grabbed you right from the beginning and had some nice twists and turns.

Fran and her daughter, Alice, put in a lot of miles on the motorway. Not searching. But running. Trying to keep one step ahead of the people that want to hurt them. Because Fran knows the truth. She knows what really happened to Gabe's daughter. She knows who is responsible. And she knows that if they ever find them, they're dead.

I am left speechless. I can't give this book the justice that this book deserves. I loved to the max. It was my everything. It had everything that I love in a thriller. It was dark and creepy. If you love creepy, then I think you will be crazy in love with this book too. It also has a supernatural vibe to it.

I love this author and I have loved d all of her books. I loved this one the best. Her books get better and better. She cracked this one out of the ball park. This book was so bizarre. It's horrifying and so clever. It made my heart pound and I could not put this book down. Also it's full of twists and turns with characters that are so well developed.
I am jumping up and down with excitement on how much I am crazy in love with this book. This one is one of my favorites for this year. This one is a must read for thriller fans.

The Other People is a little bit mystery, a little bit thriller, and a little bit...other. I really enjoyed the previous book I read by CJ Tudor, but felt like it was missing something. This story, I really enjoyed. It kept me engaged and on the edge of my seat, especially the first 2/3 of the book.

My main complaint is actually my most favorite quality. The other aspect of this book was a little too paranormal to be be considered magical realism, but not plausible enough or fleshed out enough for me to really love it.

Overall, I enjoyed this book. I thought the writing was good and compelling. It definitely kept me on the edge of my seat. There are things I wish would have been more fleshed out and developed, but I recommend this if you are a fan of the author's previous books.

A perfectly twisty thriller with that special CJ Tudor touch of just a taste of the potentially supernatural. I really enjoyed this book, it seemed utterly implausible in some places, but the author kept all the moving pieces nicely tied together and wrapped up everything with a great little bow. Creepy, suspenseful, and at times wtf-ish, it was a quick, entertaining read.

C.J. Tudor crafts a great story! Her writing is gripping right from the start, and the point of view characters (especially Gabe and Katie) are complex (but still sympathetic) protagonists. A few of the twists are predictable, but the specific ways in which they occur kept the suspense alive. I did feel that the plot rested a bit too heavily on coincidence at times, and the vague supernatural element didn't work for me at all. It's not a trope I enjoy generally, but I find it especially frustrating when no real attempt is made to explain it—in this case, the most unbelievable aspect to me wasn't even the supernatural activities/scenes themselves, but that no one (not even DI Maddock?) seems all that concerned about them. That aside, I was drawn into this story from the moment I picked it up. This is a compelling, fast-paced book, just as a thriller ought to be. I look forward to reading more of Tudor's work!

My Highly Caffeinated Thought: A heartbreakingly intense thriller filled with duplicity, regret, and revenge.

THE OTHER PEOPLE is by far the best book I have read by Tudor. The author completely upped her game with this one. The level of suspense and tension were perfectly balanced with the emotions the characters were dealing with. Then you add to that a constant looming threat to all involved in this intricately plotted novel. Brilliant!

This is a difficult book for me to review because I loved it so much. I don't want to give away anything, but I also want to express how fabulously real, affecting, eerie, and darkly menacing it was. All the elements were there. The gutted father on the desperate search for his daughter whom everyone else tries to convince him is dead. The mysterious man lending a helping hand, but has secrets of his own. The carefully intertwined story that slowly reveals itself as the characters learn their connections. It is all revealed with twists, turns, and shocking moments.

THE OTHER PEOPLE is a must-read book for anyone who loves positively addictive thrillers.

Another page turner! The Other People was great. Evertime I thought I had it figured out another piece of the puzzle would drop in my lap. It was a bit of a short read but kept me engaged from beginning to end.

Not the best thriller I’ve ever read, but it hooked me in the beginning and kept me entertained! Does anyone else give up on e-books way faster than hard copies? It always seems harder for me to get into an e-book so it says something when I stick with one! I think I would have enjoyed this one a ton more if the slightly fantasy elements were left out, otherwise solid read! Thank you @netgalley for the review copy

Let me start by saying that I love a good thriller, but it seems like there are many authors trying their hand at penning one and they just don't have the knack. C J Tudor has written a good one though, a dark and creepy ride with just enough revealed along the way to keep you on the edge of your seat and reading late into the night....If you dare. The Other People reminded me somewhat of Dean Koontz's earlier books so I would recommend it to anyone who is a fan of his.

This was my first book by CJ Tudor and overall I enjoyed the plot and the characters, but I really disliked the supernatural element. It just seemed half baked and didn’t contribute anything, it honestly almost took things away because I would think “what is this weird thing going on with seashells and pebbles” I think the book could be improved by taking out those parts, but overall I still enjoyed it
