It’s January and Sarah Winston has an estate sale that she picked up during her slowest season. But it’s not just any estate sale, it’s the home of a former couple who worked for the CIA and things get down right interesting from the get go. While Sarah is working through the contents at the home, the son of the deceased shows up and is knocked out while in the office going through papers. Turns out it’s not the son and he escapes from the hospital.

In addition, a young wife is murdered on the base and Sarah is asked to keep her eyes and ears open to help with the case. When one of the officers wives is suspected of the murder, the woman asks Sarah to help clear her name. With so much craziness going on and conflicting stories, how does Sarah separate fact from fiction? Can she or will she be the next victim?

This series is always a fun break from reality. Well written and a solid whodunit with a list of suspects and red herrings to keep you guessing until the end.

The Garage Sale Mystery books are in my favorite top five cozy mystery series. They’re interesting and informative about garage sales and life on a military base, and I can’t understand why they’re still being issued as a paperback instead of a hardcover book. They certainly deserve to be.
Sarah, living in a Massachusetts town right outside a military base runs garage sales for a living, and always seems to be in the middle of murder and crime investigations. Sell low, Sweet Harriet has four mysteries Sarah’s involved in. There’s the murder on base of a young woman, the house Sarah is readying for a garage sale keeps getting broken into, someone is after cheese store owner Mike, and Awesome is acting strangely towards Stella, his girlfriend and Sarah wants the answers to all.
Great plot, wonderful characters this series is a must read. Start with this book or the beginning and you won’t be disappointed.
