This is part of a series and I think it might have been useful to have read the three earlier books. I wasn't that keen on the heroine. She's gone back to her father because of her financial situation. The father seems just awful and I couldn't help but think she'd have been better getting a job! The Hero was a little 2 dimensional and the romance , for me, took too long to get going.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own
Ugh....where do I start with this book. I have read books from this author that are far superior. This book was just plain silly. I absolutely disliked the heroine Georgina. She is so ridiculous and the hero Rob isn't much better. Then you have a host of other characters such as Lulu the dog that are there for nothing but comic relief. I'm not a fan of this book and I feel like I wasted my time reading it . This review a an ARC from Net Galley
I received an advanced reader’s copy in exchange for an honest review
A slow burn at first but built up to be pretty, uh, spicy 3.5 rounded up
A twisted tale of kidnap and a contract to marry a cur foiled by a second kidnap. The story begins to take off when the humor of the warring parties besets the principals. All is well that ends well with the widow making a love match and the cur facing his doom with more character than he showed initially. An enjoyable fast read.
I’ve really enjoyed this series. I liked Rob’s carefree attitude, but also his loyalty. Georgie was strong willed but also up for an adventure. While the constant back and forth of danger did start to drag a bit, I still loved the story. The chemistry between Georgie and Rob flared off the page. I can’t wait to read more by Jenna Jaxon
St. Just is a true hero. Not once but several times did he prove his heroism. Lucky for Georgie, who shows us that she's also able to save herself when needed. It's just more fun when you let a handsome pirate do the saving.
