Loved reading this book. Amazing story and the characters lend to the charm of this book. I would highly recommend this book. You would not be disappointed.
I really enjoyed this story. Rosanna wants a family and a future. She wants everything she is supposed to have but has had difficulty finding. When she meets Henry she thinks she’ll finally have what she wants. She ignores all the warning signs about what Henry can’t give her. She ignores the signs that he’s not the right person for her.
Until the baby appears on her doorstep. Then she learns how much they don’t see eye to eye. Especially on the topic of what their future together looks like.
Paul is the trusted friend who has been there for Rosanna for years. As a friend

I enjoyed reading Rosanna's Gift, although it was a little slow at times. Rosanna is given a baby as the birth mother decides the baby would be better off with her family. She is busy with raising and taking care of Mollie and recovering from a letdown of the failure of her "first love" Henry. It's obvious to everyone reading that her friend Paul is interested in Rosanna, but it's slow going there.
Having the baby opens up Rosanna to highs and lows among the community, but Emma is a great friend and sidekick that adds a little more spunk to the story.
Overall, this was a good book, and I would recommend it.
I received this book from Netgalley in exchange for my review. All opinions are my own.
Good read by a new-to-me author, Susan Lantz Simpson.
I received an advance copy of this book from netgalley and the publisher in return for my honest opinion.
I had the opportunity to read this wonderful Amish book. I enjoyed it and loved the story line, I recommend it to others.
This is a beautiful Amish Christian story that is well thought and very well written. It has relevant life lessons for today. I loved the characters. The author gave them a depth and each chapter revealed more about each character. The vivid descriptions too me to the Amish Community. I wanted to cook with them and babysit the children.
The author has a nice easy style of writing. Her story is captivating and has some surprises. The dialog is realistic and smooth.
I highly recommend this. I loved the Christian and inspirational messages. It gets a 4 out of 5 stars from me.
This is a sweet story. Roseanna’s caring heart shines through on every page of this book, especially when she unexpectedly becomes the legal guardian of the abandoned new-born baby, Mollie. This is not an easy decision for Roseanna, as she realizes that because she is willing to adopt Mollie as her daughter, she may be giving up her chance of courting and finding a husband. Will Henry still show interest in her; or is Paul’s true interest in baby Mollie rather than Roseanna? I loved Roseanna’s family, especially the way they rallied around to help Roseanna with baby Mollie. This heart-touching story highlights self-sacrifice and faith in God’s guidance. I enjoyed reading this book and thought it was very well-written.

Susan Lantz Simpson's new release, Rosanna's Gift was a pretty good Amish read. I would give it four and a half stars. I look forward to more by this author in the future.
Rosanna’s Gift by Susan Lantz Simpson takes us to an Amish community in Southern Maryland. Rosanna Mast is training to be a midwife by working alongside her mother. She fancies Henry Zook and hopes that he will take her home from a singing. An Englischer who gives her name as Jane comes to them in labor and they deliver her little girl. Jane surprises Rosanna when she states that the baby now belongs to her and has papers giving up her parental rights. Jane scoots out the window and into a passing car while Rosanna is fetching her mother. Rosanna names the little girl Mollie and is happy to discover that the legal paperwork she received is all in order. Then Rosanna learns that Henry will not raise another man’s child especially a child that was born to an Englischer. Rosanna wonders if any man will want to marry her. Paul Hostetler has admired Rosanna from afar and regrets not having acted on his feelings sooner. He can see that Rosanna and Mollie are meant to be together and supports her decision to adopt the baby. But then something unexpected happens that could derail the adoption. Paul has a suggestion, but he is not sure that Rosanna will be receptive. Rosanna’s Gift is a sweet, heartwarming Amish romance. I liked this unique story with charming characters and the adorable little Mollie. I thought the story was well-written and it moved along steadily. Rosanna is a kind, thoughtful woman with a big heart. Her love of Mollie and her family was evident. Paul is such a sweetheart. He is a thoughtful, caring man who will make a wonderful husband and father. I like how Paul was there for Rosanna. I enjoyed seeing their relationship develop over the course of the story. We get a glimpse at the life of Amish in Southern Maryland. Faith, love and family are the prevalent themes in Rosanna’s Gift. My favorite line was Rosanna’s Gift is, “Life is full of surprises, for sure and for certain.” There was one character that I found entertaining (I cannot say more because I do not want to spoil the story for you). She was quite unique and humorous. Rosanna’s Gift is heartfelt story with an unexpected blessing, a stalwart friend, a supportive family, an unforeseen hurdle, and a contented conclusion.
Good story about a young unmarried woman who is given a baby from and woman who does not want to be a mother. Rosanna goes through raising a baby without a father for it, as well as giving up her single life and friends to be a good mother. Her family is supportive as well as a young man who likes Rosanna. All is going well until a relative of the baby shows us and challenges for custody.
Rosanna's Gift is a sweet Amish story. I love stories about midwives and their experiences. This book is well written and the characters are believable and well developed. I am really glad I was chosen by netgallley to recieve an arc, the opinions are my own
Rosanna is often called upon to aid her mamm, Sarah, in midwifing and delivering babies. When an Englisch girl shows up at their door in labor, the two women spring into action to help the girl deliver her bopplin. Once the baby is delivered, the young girl wants nothing to do with the infant and gives the little girl to Rosanna. Rosanna falls instantly in love and when she finds out that the girl has named her permanent guardian, decides to keep the babe.
Rosanna's Gift is a sweet read that details the struggles Rosanna goes through by adopting this baby girl. She pretty much gives up on marriage and having her own children because of her responsibility with this baby. For a while she liked Henry Zook, but he never really seemed to like her. Paul Hertzler seemed to be a good friend, but she never really noticed him.
Susan Lantz Simpson writes using great detail that colors the plot to make an engaging storyline. Her characters are fully fleshed out and even the minor characters add something worthwhile to the narrative. This is a five star book with two thumbs up, and a gift of invaluable price.
My thanks go to NetGalley.com and Kensington Books for providing the galley I read for this review.
Rosanna never figured as a young unmarried Amish woman she would have a baby before she was married. But sometimes things happen for a reason and only God knows why and what the plan is. Rosanna never figured an English girl would give her, her baby, right after Rosanna and her mother, who was a midwife, would hand her a legal paper saying she was giving the baby to Rosanna. The love Rosanna and her have for the new family addition is truly amazing and what happens as the story goes on is one of a heart warming love and of many uncertain things to come. Hard to put down once I started reading it.
I received this through NetGallery and all opinions are my own and the only compensation I received was the Kindle edition of the book.
I have read and loved every single one of Susan Lantz Simpson's books.
The setting is Southern Maryland, serene Amish country.
A baby is a true blessing from God no matter the circumstances surrounding it's birth and parentage.
One does not have to birth a child to be it's mother in the true sense of the word. Adoptive parents are every bit as much parents and in many cases more of a parents than birth parents.
Working with her midwife mother,Rosanna Mast is an Amish young woman who has hope for the future with the handsome Henry Zook.
Sure they have differences but those can be overcome right?
Never expecting a young Elglisher girls utterance of a few words could change her whole future after she gives birth Rosanna never expects to feel such contentment and protectiveness of the newborn she's been given to her.
Shocks gives way to love and she has plenty of experience with newborns since she helps her mother with midwifery tasks.
Her mother worries none of the young men in the community will want a ready made family with taking care of another man's child. She needn't worry because Paul Hertzler becomes Rosanna's staunch supporter. Should she continue to keep him at arm's length while she sorts her feelings or let him show the love and devotion he has for her and her child? Really, really enjoyed this one. Can't wait to read the next book by this author!

The Lord God gives us a special gift in adoption. To give a child the gift to be loved and cherished.
Rosanna lives in an Amish community in Maryland where she helps her mother be a mid-wife in their community. When an Englisher comes to their door ready to give birth, they do not think twice about meeting her urgent need. However, when the young girl tells 21 year old Rosanna that the baby is hers and disappears, she realizes that God has given her a special gift. With the support of family, she names the baby Molly and her mother finds an English lawyer to start the adoption processes.
Rosanna with her sacrifice begins to realize that she is now different. A young mother that is not married and not single. She has her eye on Henry but he wants nothing to do with her now that she is a mom. Paul does have his eye on Rosanna but his sensitive heart does not have the words to let Rosanna know how he feels about her and Molly. A journey of romance and sacrifice, Rosanna must fight to keep Molly and know what love really is. A sweet Amish Romance.
A Special Thank you to Kensington Books and Netgalley for the ARC and the opportunity to post an honest review
Rosanna's Gift was a sweet, wonderful and heartfelt book! I loved the story and the development of the characters was well paced. Rosanna and her midwife mother help Amish women deliver their children and Rosanna finds herself helping a non-Amish woman as she delivers a baby and leaves it with Rosanna with the intention that Rosanna will adopt her child.
Her friend Paul loves both Rosanna and the child in her care. The story is a wonderful romance with caring and loving characters. Rosanna's family is supportive of her decisions despite some community member's feelings.
I enjoyed the book. It was a good read.
I received a ebook copy from NetGalley. All thoughts are my own.
Rosanna’s Gift is a sweet Amish romance. Good plot and well developed characters. I highly recommend this book. I received an arc from the publisher and Netgalley and this is my unbiased review.
I enjoyed this read, especially after reading a really heavy heart in your throat, this one is sweet, and almost unimaginable, but then!
Made me think how desperate this young mother had to be, but as the story unfolds, you begin to understand her reasoning,
Will Ms. Kane succeed? Will Roseanna see what is before her eyes, or pine for what she thinks she wants? Her Amish training takes in as she has been taking care of little ones almost her whole life [being the eldest daughter] and now a midwife.
Come along and see how this all works out, maybe not how you thing!
I received this book through Net Galley and the Publisher Kensington, and was not required to give a positive review.

Thanks goes to the publisher, via Net-Galley for the opportunity to read and review Roseanna’s Gift prior to publication, a heartwarming Amish romance. My opinions are my own and are not influenced in any way.
Roseanna’s Gift is an emotionally charged Amish fiction novel. The story concerns choices and decisions that could, and do, impact a young Amish girl’s future dreams of a husband and her own family. The writing flows beautifully, and Ms. Simpson gives an authentic feel for the Amish culture. The pacing is perfect flowing with the ebb and tide of the story.
Roseanna Mast’s character is endearing. When she accepts a newborn from a young Englischer who gives birth at her parents’ home, she realizes this could ruin her chances with Henry Zook, the young man she’s wanted as her husband. I could feel her torment when he does as she expects and moves on to another Amish girl in their community. I fell in love with her from the first page for her nurturing ways toward the sweet little boppli, Molly.
Paul Hertzler is the young man who steps in, offering his friendship and support. He’s such an amazing man who has loved Roseanna from afar for years. His care of for the wee little one touched my soul. I truly wanted him to win Roseanna’s heart.
This is a story of a young girl's willingness to trust in God's love to guide her in her decisions, even when faced with possible alienation from her community and the destruction of her fragile connection with the man she believes she loves. Roseanna's Gift has a beautiful message.
The romance is sweet, as in most Amish fiction, and is based on friendship and mutual respect. While it takes Roseanna’s a good bit of time before she recognizes Paul in any kind of romantic way, when she does it warmed my heart.
If you enjoy Amish fiction that has a lovely romance with engaging characters and a few twists along the way, then you will love Roseanna’s Gift as much as I did. I will definitely be looking for other books by this talented author. In fact, I’ve just downloaded the first book in this series. Happy reading!
