When a man goes overboard on a yacht and a vicious sports writer's body emerges from the same waters, Marley McKinney, the owner of Flip Side, a pancake house in Wildwood Cove, begins pursuing the case. In spite of reminders from the sheriff about dangers of her involvement, she questions people she encounters who are in town for the Golden Oldies Games. Marley prepares for her wedding with Brett as she runs her business and pokes her nose into the investigation. Although I did not read the previous five installments, I really enjoyed the setting and the central characters for this series. I want to go back and read the earlier installments. It's a perfect read for when you need something on the cozy side. I received an advance electronic copy through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. (3.5 stars)
I was absolutely thrilled to have book number six in the series to read. I am guaranteed a great read from this series, I am never disappointed!
There are so many things I like about it, including the strong female lead character Marley, the small town setting and the inhabitants.
As always, a well written whodunit, which kept me guessing and engaged right until the reveal.
I highly recommend this book, and I look forward to reading the next in the series.
I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
First, let me say how much I love titles that are a play on words, they always make me laugh. The punnier the better!
I received an advanced reading copy of this book and I had not read books 1 through 5. I loved this book! The author does a great job of bringing you into this character's story even if you haven't read her previous books. I think we all have a little Marley in us, we are all curious, we all let mysteries keep us up at night while the information plays over and over in your head.
I love that Marley is a realistic character, she is a business owner, trying to plan a wedding, during tourist season and the Golden Oldies Games. We all juggle so much these days.
I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to enjoy a great mystery with awesome characters.

Much Ado About Nutmeg was my first book in this series, but it won’t be my last. Set in a cozy coastal town in Washington, the story takes place during the Golden Oldies Games. After two bodies are found, everyone is a suspect.
This was a fun, quick read - perfect for this lazy time of year between Christmas and New Years. I loved reading about The Flip Side, our main character Marley’s pancake house. And for what it’s worth, I think Ivan is definitely my favorite character!
This would be a great intro to the cozy mystery genre for readers who are interested in giving these books a try.
Thank you Kensington Books for providing me with a NetGalley copy.
I never read the first 5 books to this series but I didn't feel like I was missing much other than the love that I felt for this very cute book. The book had a great plot and some amazing new characters for me to love. I can not wait to get the others as well as continue with this series.
Sarah Fox has done it again.
Great read , always look forward in reading about Marley and Brett .
With a wedding to organise and two murders to help solve Marley is certainly kept busy!
With plenty of suspects and a lot of secrets to unfold not everything is plain sailing for Marley.
It was a surprise ending never saw that coming.
Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for my advance copy.

My Review:
I try to always include the blurb about the book so that people can easily read the summary and then my review and hopefully if a great review consider reading it or at least adding to the next "must read". The 6th installment of the Pancake House mysteries does not disappoint. Marley is at it again investigating two murders and preparing for her nuptials.
As you can imagine mayhem ensues and all bets are off. Follow Marley through twists and turns as she gets too close to the case. I was provided this ARC in exchange for my honest opinion and I love it!!! The characters are well developed and it has enough mystery to keep me interested until the very end.
Definitely recommend this book!!
This book read like I was watching an episode of Murder, She Wrote with my gran back in the day. That’s not to say it’s a bad book, I just think it’s rather slow and predictable. Perfectly enjoyable for the rainy days during the holiday season, but nothing more.
There is 0 character development and I felt no connection to any part of the story. The only connection I felt a craving for breakfast food.
Alright book, not the best book for me.
The 6th installment of The Pancake House mystery series has Marley investigating two murders and getting ready for her own wedding. Marley is supporting a friend and regular customer in the Golden Oldies Game (over 50 competition) things get off track when the body of a sports reporter Yvonne Pritchard is found and it is clear her death is no accident. Yvonne had more enemies than fans and the one admirer Ed has asked Marley to investigate. Twists and turns abound and Marley is even pushed into the road and cyclists which tell her she is getting close to the murderer. This was a good fast paced and enjoyable read and the Marley is such a great character with such warmth and caring for her town and her regulars. Recommend.
I have read all of the other books in this series and I felt this one was not quite up to the same standards as the others. While it was interesting to read and it went along at a good pace, the book never seemed to concentrate on developing characters or relationships between characters. If you had not read this series before, it may have been more difficult to understand how everyone fits in. Marley does not spend much time in the Pancake House which seemed odd. In fact, often the timing of things in the book seemed odd. Like days passing all of a sudden, or Marley doing lots of things and yet it is not yet noon and then suddenly it is evening. I felt like it just pulled me along for the ride and while it was perfectly acceptable for an afternoon read, previous books have developed the story better.
Book 6 of the Pancake Shop mystery series offers up some pre-wedding jitters and some murder among the elder olympics happening in town. Familiar characters are back, and the food mentioned in the book will have you running for the kitchen, thanks to the included recipes! Add a few twists and turns, and you have a charming read that doesn't disappoint! It is easy to put down and pick back up, making it perfect for holuday reading, so don't miss this latest addition to the series!
I enjoy this series. I really like the characters and their relationships. Marley trying to stay out of the investigation since she realizes it makes her friends concerned for her was a nice touch. Marley and Brett planning their wedding, so that it shows people moving forward in their lives is also nice. The one thing that drove me nuts was how many blonds were in the book. I counted 5 before a brunette was mentioned. I didn't even start counting from the beginning,
Thanks you to the publisher, the author and NetGalley for my eARC in exchange for an honest review.
The surprisingly insidious world of seniors’ sports descends on Wildwood Cove in the latest Pancake House mystery. Decades-long grudges, complicated relationships and wedding planning intertwine to create a thrilling novel that’ll have you on the edge of your seat.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I was not paid for this review.
rating: 4.5
this is the first time that I've read a book that the title has nothing to do with the story line but other then that I loved it and can't wait to read more by this author, in fact this is the second series that I'm reading by her and can't wait to see more of it and what else happens to the characters
Marley McKinney, owner of The Flip Side pancake house in the seaside town of Wildwood cove, is getting ready to welcome seniors competing in the Golden Oldies Games.
Then one of the competitors drowns and a pushy female sports journalist is found murdered on the same day.
Not only that but Marley is getting ready for her wedding in a few weeks.
But when an old friend pleads with her to investigate the murder, Marley cannot refuse.
Only the murderer is determined to make sure that some secrets are kept safe - no matter what the cost.
Have you ever tossed and turned, trying to get to sleep, couldn't so you pull out your Kindle and then read an entire book? It can't be just me, right?
I loved seeing Marley and Brett begin their married lives together! I've read this series from the beginning and I'm impressed with how well the author creates new ways for murder victims to come about since you can't have a whole town dying off and all. A sweet cozy mystery that will leave you waiting for the next one.
Thank you netgalley for an advance copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is a fun, fast-paced mystery with interesting characters, a beautiful coastal community setting, delicious food descriptions at Marley;s Flip Side restaurant and with an ending you will not see coming plus a wedding! Marley is delighted that the state-wide Golden Oldies athletic competition is coming to town because it means more business for her cafe. But when two competitors are found dead - one a beloved member of the games and one a nasty reporter, Marley is convinced that the two deaths are related and, at considerable personal peril, she is proven right.
I enjoyed this book although I felt that it was overly long in places. The investigation didn't seem to go anywhere, the main character kind of fell into the murderer. But it was well-paced and interesting. The characters were fun and the golden seniors are an inspiration. #MuchAdoaboutNutmeg #NetGalley
arley McKinney is busy running her pancake place and planning her beach wedding during tourist season. One of her regulars is in a sporting event for over 50’s as she wants to cheer them on. Everything seems to be going smoothly until a sport reporter seems to start trouble.
Not surprisingly a body is washed up on shore and it is the sports reporter. It will be up to Marley and Ed Herman an admirer of the reporter to figure who killed her. But then another body is found as they must quickly find the killer before more people die in between wedding preparations.
It is a charming cozy read.

When a nasty reporter covering the Golden Oldies competition turns up stabbed through the heart Marley can't help herself but investigate. However her suspect list grows longer by the minute and so does the danger to her life. A poignant story of how the need for revenge can take away everything you hold dear. I couldn't help but feel very sorry for the murderer in the end.

When I started this, I was not aware that it was part of the series, but that makes sense background to the main characters – it does standalone, but I am sure it would be better if you were familiar with the previous books.
We join Marley McKinney in her Pancake Shop in a small town, that has been descended on by many visitors for the “Golden Oldies Games”
When a gentleman falls overboard from a boat, it is seen as an unfortunate accident – until a females body is found on the beach ... our heroine soon becomes a sleuth, trying to uncover what happened ... when she is involved in a minor accident (was she pushed?), she has to question whether she will become the murderers next victim if she continues ...
It is a perfectly acceptable cozy mystery but nothing special - the writing style is primarily conversation with very little description. I’m afraid it didn’t work so well for me.
Disclosure: I received a copy of this book via NetGalley. All opinions on my own.
I think this is a fun, well written series with awesome characters (human and pets!) and a great small town atmosphere. In this one, Marley is continuing to run her pancake house and preparing for her wedding to Brett, but then a sports reporter who seemed to want to cause some trouble is found dead.
This book, and series, hits all the right points for me for a cozy. The main character, Marley, is great without going overboard as an amateur sleuth. I love both Marley and Brett as a believable relationship, and the ending of this book is perfect for them. I love Flapjack in particular, probably because I'm a cat cozy kind of reader. Great series if you like cozies!
