This is my first book from this author and I loved everything about it. The hero was to die for. I also loved the heroine. Definitely will be reading more this author.

I enjoyed this book so much more than the last one in the series!

Quade finally returns to earth and I love, love, love that it's the heroine who rescues him rather than one of his friends. We found out in Alpha's Promise that Haven was somehow meeting with Quade telepathically in the dimension where he was trapped. Well, turns out, not only does she have the power to visit other worlds, she has some abilities to manipulate those worlds as well.

Haven has spent her whole life considering herself crazy, but when Quade turns out to be very real, it sparks a major awakening in her. I loved watching her grow in her self-esteem and confidence. She is powerful in her own right, but not in a traditional way. She is special...unique. And she has a lot of baggage to deal with from her past at the same time she is dealing with some real danger from people hunting her in the present.

Quade was surprisingly funny. The guy has been away from earth for centuries so he's got a lot to learn. I loved the running joke about how he loved toothpaste. Not to mention his reaction to everything from clothes, to cars, to The Bachelor.

The book touches on some of the major series arcs like the problems with the Kurjans/Cyst, the conflict between the Seven and the heroes of the Realm, and of course, Hope, Drake, and Paxton.

The only thing that detracted for me was the far too familiar vein of forced dominance, spanking, and withholding orgasm...which reappears in every one of these books. I guess someone out there likes it... I'm just not that someone.

Otherwise, a solid installment. Can't wait to see where the series goes next.

Pretty good story. I think the only thing I would complain about is how much Haven keeps getting kidnapped.

I officially have a new favorite paranormal romance!!! While Hero’s Haven is book #11 in the series, this was the first one I read. You can definitely jump in here - I didn’t feel lost at all - but I’m excited to go back and read the first 10 books immediately!

Quade is a half vampire/half demon who has been tortured on other worlds for thousands of years. He’s given up hope and is ready for the end. Until Haven appears to him and they are brought back to Earth. Haven has grown up with humans - never knowing that she is a fae/demoness hybrid - or even knowing that anything paranormal actually exists.

I love how this put them both in a fish out of water situation right at the start. Quade is amazed to learn about hot water from the tap and cars and the Internet. And Haven is thrown into a world of fairies, vampires, demons and shifters. And suddenly learning that her visions all her life haven’t been a sign of mental illness.

Quade and Haven are fated mates but both are determined not to be mated for different reasons. Their chemistry is 🔥🔥🔥🔥. But even beyond the amazing romance - this is a story of belonging and family, both the family we are born with and the families we choose. I loved this book SO MUCH - I laughed, I teared up, I squeed with happiness. Highly recommend!!!!

Thank you so much to Netgalley and the publisher for the advance reading copy.

I have never read anything from Rebecca Zanetti before, but I will definitely be seeking out more of her books. This was pretty freaking amazing! There's plenty of action, lots of interesting characters and factions to get to know, and plenty of romantic encounters.

Sure most of the boys are ridiculously old fashioned and archaic, but they are mostly matched with women who know how to handle it...mostly.

Quade Kayrs is the last of the Seven to return to the home world. Centuries have gone by without him. It's funny how he refers to modern day things like cars as moving shelters. But he's quick to learn and Haley, literally the woman who saved him from the jaws of death, seems to have things mostly under control. Quade is a ridiculously fast learner. I'm not sure if that's because he's a vampire/demon hybrid or what, but he picks up on things at an extraordinary rate. But he just seems to have an issue with shaking his archaic values.

Haven always thought she was nuts, until she pulls Quade from her dream into the real world and he doesn't fade away like hallucinations should. He tells her she is a fairy/demon hybrid, which is crazy, right? Only things keep happening and suddenly it seems more and more likely that he is right, and real, and she's not actually falling into a psychotic episode.

Even though this is pure fantasy, I totally believe that Haven could be a real person. She has flaws. She has insecurities. And she sure as hell isn't going to be some woman who hands over all her decisions and life plans to a hot, muscular man she pulled out of her dreams...well not all of them.

Now I get this is a book with an alpha male thing going on, and I did thoroughly enjoy it, but I must say I did not enjoy how whenever Haven tried to and successfully ignored Quade's commands it turned into an argument that turned into Quade using sex as a way of pacifying and controlling Haven. I also didn't enjoy how Pierce went from a shifter who just wanted Haven to bear his offspring because he saw the advantage it would give them, to a crazy, psycho, stalker who pretty much promised she'd grow to love him. These and a few other little things were the only reason why this book didn't receive a full 5 star rating from me.

What I did really love was the fact that when I thought "Man this chick has to stop always being hit in the head" Haven literally comes out with a line something along the lines of "dude, you have to stop hitting me in the head!" I got a good laugh out of that. Maybe I was projecting, but I thought it was a clever way for the author to communicate that she did notice how often she was using that particular move as a way of moving the story along. I notice this with all the neck strikes Quade acquired throughout the book. But I guess if taking off your head is the only way to kill you, you'll probably have a lot of people trying to aim for your neck too. I loved how original the plot and world building is and the overall quality of the writing. This isn't just a smutty book, this is a literary work of art.

So now I have to go back and catch up on everyone else's story...then wait until the next book to see how Ulrich next tries to make his return to dominate the world.

I will never get tired of this amazing world! And that’s saying something when I will fight to the death to keep myself from getting pulled into a series, especially a long one. But not only do I love this world and all the characters, I never want it to end.

Most of the heroines in the Dark Protectors are pretty tough with the ability to fight but Haven was not, and I actually loved her character more because of it. She was actually pretty vulnerable but she was still capable of taking care of herself and standing up to Quade when needed.

I adored Quade and his adjustment to this new world as well as his determination to protect Haven and his confusion when she didn’t just let him do his job to do so. He’s definitely the type of hero I love.

“Ask me again. Your question.” His voice was so hoarse the words were garbled.

She swallowed and tried to force out words. “Wh-what do I taste like?”

“Mine.”

While this has a lot of sizzle from the very beginning, it takes this couple some time to get the deed done. There is a lot going on so the pace never slowed down or became repetitive. Despite the number of books in this series, this was a fresh, new plotline adding to not only the past storyline, but introducing a new one as well. I loved seeing all my old favorites and I can’t wait to see what else is in store for this group.

3 to 3.5 Stars

It’s a been a while since I dived into this world, this series. As some characters made their appearance in this story, I found myself stopping and searching on GoodReads to read the blurbs of their books to refresh my memory. ”Oh yeah! That’s who they are!”

I’m sure someone has a made a family tree somewhere online and that would’ve been helpful because there are a LOT of people! Anyway, once I figured out who was who, I’d dive back into Haven and Quade’s story.

Ohmigosh, I really loved Quade, the toothpaste eating alpha! He’s the main reason why I enjoyed the book as much as I did. Haven? I’m sorta meh about her, to be honest. I just like my heroines more snarky and kickass. And I love it when they can fight. Though she is strong and resilient, Haven wasn’t ever trained to fight; hence, my meh-ness... *shrugs*

In closing, I do have to say though that I find myself impatient with this series. I so badly want to fast forward everything to get to the end. Like just tell me already!!! But that’s just me. I don’t really do well with a series that runs super long.

HERO'S HAVEN will capture you, hold you tightly and when you get to the last page you will not want to let it go. It is a fascinating read with all sorts of action, drama, danger, romance and to top it off we get to see more of the Kayrs, the Realm and the Seven. What more could we want?

Hero’s Haven, written by Rebecca Zanetti, is the eleventh book in her Dark Protectors series. This is the first book I have read in the series, and I think it could be read as a standalone, but I enjoyed it so much I want to go back and read the rest of the books in the series. Hero’s Haven was fun to read; It's a crazy mixed-up jumble of every fantasy trope character you can imagine along with helicopters blowing up and evil villains and their minions out to destroy the world along with an incredibly steamy romance. Quade Kayrs, a 2000-year-old wild vampire/demon hybrid, is one of the Seven sent to alternate worlds to prevent Ulric from destroying the world. Haven Daly is a Demon/Fae mix abandoned as a young child. She was raised by an abusive preacher who tried to exorcise the demon from her until Children’s Aid took her at age 14, and she’s been on the run from the preacher and his church ever since. When Haven saves Quade just before the world he was on blows up, he discovers that she’s his mate, and although he’s sworn to the Seven, the brand on his hand has him rethinking his vows. Haven shocked to learn she’s not human and that the worlds she visits in her dreams are real, thinks Quade is hot, but she’s not a forever kind of girl and while a fling would be great, there is no way she’s going to be someone’s mate should they manage to survive. I received an ARC of this book to read through NetGalley in exchange for a fair review. I received a free copy of this book from NetGalley and in return I agreed to post an honest review.

Rebecca has once again brought us another awesome story! It can be read as a standalone but once you start reading it you will probably want to read more of the books to learn about these other great characters!

Haven and Quade are our main characters, our mates to be. Haven would dream about Quade for the longest time, she would also visit him in her dreams. When Quade returns he seeks out Haven. Neither character really believes in love, which is sad, but Quade does know Haven is his mate.

There is something different about Haven although Quade can't quite figure it out yet. Unfortunately
others are looking for Haven and she needs to get to a safe place. Her adopted father is looking for her, a wolf shifter who thinks she is his mate and demons who say she has the power to bring back their leader who is imprisoned on another dimension.

Can Quade keep Haven safe? Will she finally commit to become his mate?

There is so much I want to say but can't without giving away some of the story. The Dark Protectors is such a great series and fans can't get enough!

I really wanted to like this paranormal romance, but it wasn't for me. I didn't feel any connection between the characters, and the beginning seemed a little depressing. I wasn't drawn in and it was hard to finish it. I received an advanced reader's copy from Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.

Whew - this book packed alot of action in it. The Dark Protector series has so much going for it. It took me a little while to realize Quade was one of the Seven but then I remembered them looking for Haven. I can't imagine how horrible her childhood must have been and how wonderful it was going to be to finally have a family that accepted her as she was. I love the concept that Haven's paintings could be more than just paintings for her. The characters were so real and I hated to put the book down to get anything else in my life down. Excellent read if you enjjoy the paranormal.

5 - "Stop being a jackass and bite me…" Stars!

I always love returning to the Dark Protectors universe, it is hands down my all time favourite PNR series. But I did question at the start of this reboot as to whether the author was just going to rehash tropes that had already been used in the original books, I am so glad I was wrong, because although there are similarities there is no escaping the fact that The Seven and the story playing out around them, Ulric and Hope Kyllwood-Kayrs has grabbed me completely.

"You’ve been to my hell… Take me to yours."

Quade Kayrs has been trapped in another world throughout the previous books in this series, he has been through unspeakable things, died a thousand deaths, and given up all hope. The one light has always been the infrequent visits of Haven Daly, artist and another character we learned about in the previous book. Turns out she’s not only a gifted artist, but has a few special talents of her own, and one of them ultimately saves Quade’s life.

He was the first person in her life who saw the real her…

As you would expect with a Zanetti Dark Protectors novel, you get plenty of action, emotion, sexy-times and the inclusion of the original characters (Talen & Dage anyone!) I loved Quade and his addiction to toothpaste. Haven was sassy, not enough to annoy me but she bounced off Quade perfectly, especially when he was trying to learn how things are in the current world compared to what he knew before he left it. Some parts had me giggling like a school girl with her first crush.

Without trying to… he made her feel special.

Loved it, love this series, I think 2020 may be the year I make the time to re-read it from the beginning. Looking forward to October when Guardians Grace, the next book is expected to release (although we also have a 1001 Nights novella to look forward to in the summer!).

ONE word WOW!!!!!

Hero's Haven was so damn good. OMG I don't know how Rebecca Zanetti does it, but she is amazing. God I love that woman. Every book she writes is gold. Quade and Haven were better than even my expectations, which were super high. The plot was action packed, the banter was hilarious and I loved both Quade and Haven. They were both well developed characters, relatable and very lovable.

Quade was delicious. Sexy, protective, alpha without being annoying, and funny. He was the total package. Quade suffered so much, for so long I was so glad he got his HEA. Gone from this world 100s of years Quade didn't understand modern times. I loved reading about him learning all the new technology and inventions like toothpaste. OMG him eating all the toothpaste, I laughed so hard. Haven was perfect for him. She was smart, sassy, with a touch of vulnerability. Haven's past was heartbreaking and sad. Her adopted parents were crazy assholes and I really wanted them to get some comeuppance. I felt they got off too easy and I wanted them to feel the pain. I know I can get bloodthirsty about some fictional characters but that's me. Haven was talented, independent and most of all a survivor .

Haven and Quade were great together. I felt their relationship had a nice build up, with tons of chemistry. I loved how supportive they both were with each other. They are favorite couple of the new series arc after Rebecca started writing more in the Dark Protector world. I totally flipped the fangirl out when Talen and Dage entered the story. OMG I need more Talen in my life. * HINT HINT * I would love more Talen and the older couples of the series in the up coming books. *HINT HINT* I'm sure I'm not the only one, but the second Talen entered the book I squealed. Then every time he talked, made a smart ass comment or got pissed I was OMG it's Talen OMG.

Truly I am crazy about that man. I don't care that he isn't real. He is to me! Any- fangirl- way the ongoing plot was really good. I loved Hope and Pax. I am so glad that Zane is checking into Pax. I totally melted at the part with Hunter and Haven. What a cutie. I loved every single minute of this book and I can't wait to get my hands on the next one. Grace, Adare and Garrett's books are going to be so damn good I just can't wait!!!!!

Wow, Wow, Wow!! I absolutely LOVE this series!! I don't know how Rebecca Zanetti is able to write all of these characters with their own individual and unique personalities and still keep her readers engaged and begging for more!! This story is just another success and I LOVED LOVED LOVED it!!

This story is centered around Quade and Haven's relationship and let me tell you... it starts off hot and fast and it just keeps getting better!! The dynamics between Quade and Haven are simply fantastic. I love the sweetness and ... I don't know the correct word... maybe 'honesty' between Quade and Haven. I found myself (again) laughing, crying, and sucked into this world. I thoroughly enjoyed Quade thinking toothpaste is 'delicious' and wanting to acquire more so he could eat it all the time, the nod to the movie Airplane ("Don't call me Shirley"), and the reference to a rose ceremony. The subtle hints to 'daily life', that I could relate to (& I assume other readers will relate to), make this story even more enduring. I love how Quade & Haven both learned to trust and love again throughout this story. Sure, in real life there aren't vampires, witches, Fae, shifters, etc, however the relationships that are built throughout this series is what makes it so fantastic. If you haven't read any of the books in this series I would highly recommend you taking some time and diving in to this world... you definitely won't regret it!! Happy Reading (I can't wait for the next book in this series!!)

Haven Daly has always believed she had mental problems and that the worlds she travels to in her dreams are a part of that. But that quickly changes when she travels to Quade Kayrs dimension and pulls him out when it explodes. She finally learns the truth about herself and her heritage. Together they must stop Ulric from escaping his prison dimension, all while fighting Cysts and dealing with their mate bond.

I loved this book. Quade and Haven were so cute together. Quade was an extremely protective, sexy alpha male, who was also pretty funny. He has suffered so much and to see him finally happy made me giddy. I loved seeing him learn and struggle with all the technology and inventions. His obsession with toothpaste made me laugh so hard. Haven was smart, sassy, artistic, and emotionally fragile. Her past was so heartbreaking and I am glad she finally got some closure. I do wish her adoptive parents had more of a painful ending. They really deserved it.

Haven and Quade were perfect together. Their relationship was filled with chemistry and was just perfect for me. Together these two healed each other and learned how to love. They were so supportive of each other, even when they were butting heads. It was perfect. I can’t get enough of this series and really can’t wait for the next book.

4.75 Hearts Dark Predators!!!! REBECCA ZANETTI!!! Two of the best things to yell when you are talking paranormal authors and series!

Boy as much as I love Quade (and who doesn’t love Rebecca’s guys?) I really liked Haven in this story. I loved she was so independent but broken. But it works with Haven. Something about her makes you want to be her friend. Makes you want to stand behind her and whisper in her ear… “You can do this. Go for it.” And clap as she does.

Now about Quade! He is a typical Zanetti guy. He is alpha and a bad-ass but yet you cheer for him.

I would say… DO NOT START HERE! This series can not really be read as a stand alone. But then if you go back and read the first one you will not be able to put this series down. But then I would say “Lucky you” for getting to read this series without having to wait between books!

Haven and Quade's story. Really liked this one, but I have read others in this series. If you have not I suggest you may enjoy this more if you have more of a base of this world created by the author. When Haven is on the run, she finds an injured Quade and together they help each other escape the multiple groups searching for the both. Liked this one: characters, plot, banter, etc. Great story and one I highly recommend. hard to put this one down.

Hero’s Haven by Rebecca Zanetti

Dark Protectors book 11. Dark paranormal romance. Best read as part of the series.
Quade, after centuries of protecting the realm and fighting for his life, is finally freed by Haven, who can travels between worlds in her sleep. It’s now his job to protect her from the ultimate enemy.

Lots of characters from prior books. It can stand as a romance on its own but there is so much back story and an overall arc that it’s better if you know some of the story. Haven has been featured in the last several books. This is her story.
As is typically with this series, the men are protective, willing to fight to the death for justice, and a bit overbearing. They do learn to love fully if only after they give a spanking during sex play. The women are independent, smart and just as willing to jump into a fight to protect their family.

A fast, and electrifying read.
Hope, the expected resolution of the entire series, aka world, is still a child. That means potentially a dozen more warriors falling in love and enemies slain before the series concludes. Good thing this author writes an appealing story. I look forward to the next episode.

I received a copy of this book from NetGalley. I also purchased a copy to share.

Hero’s Haven is the 11th volume in the Dark Protectors series by Rebecca Zanetti, and the 3rd volume in the new story arc.
This time the story features Hero Daly and Quade Kayrs. The latter appeared for the first time in Demon’s Mercy, the 9th volume although because he’s a member of the Seven, he’s been mentioned from this arc’s first volume, Vampire’s Faith.
As for Haven, we met her in Alpha’s Promise, the 10th volume. At this stage, you’ll have understood you must absolutely read the volumes in the order.

Hero’s Haven follows on from Alpha’s Promise where a lot of information are given. In Hero’s Haven, we understand the link between our heroes, that is the fact they met for years in the young woman’ dreams. When the story begins, Haven is hiding from the three women she saw in a dream and who are looking for her. But she doesn’t know if they are nice or not, so she preferred to flee. These three women are heroines from the previous volumes.
Haven has the gift of foresight and she draws everything she sees: people, landscapes and world. As the hero gradually discovers her paintings, the plot is also revealed and we come nearer from the bad guy of this story arc: Ulric. During almost the whole book, I thought it would be the last volume where the group would get rid of him but no, it’s not finished. Let’s say they’ll have some rest. In any case there are still three heroes to marry off so I thought it strange.
Quade has been imprisoned for centuries in an especially horrid world. It’s Haven who succeeds in freeing him and so, like in Vampire’s Faith, we have a character who discovers the present world and lots of funny scenes and dialogues. The toothpaste scene is a must.
I can’t say more about the plot without revealing the story. Let’s say the book is full of action, twists, and I must say Rebecca Zanetti really knows how to play with our nerves.

There are still some elements that go on annoying me in this series. First, the previous characters still talk about the creation of a virus that could stop the mating in some cases. Personally, on this point, I’ll be inflexible: in my opinion, no HEA if this kind of virus should see the light of the day. Without taking into account what the bad guys, who’re still looking for females willing or not, could do with it… We’ll see.
There’s also Paxton’s problem with his father that I already told about in my review for Alpha’s Promise. It seems like there’s a beginning of evolution on this part, let’s hope to see its conclusion in the next volume.
And finally, once again, the heroes must manage alone for a long time when the Realm has the best scientists and informaticians in the whole world. Eventually it becomes a bit tiring.

Apart from that, this is a book I had trouble putting down because I really wanted to know what would happen for our heroes and Rebecca Zanetti knows how to keep the reader on tenterhooks. Quade/Haven couple works well. We believe in their attraction and their HEA even if I thought the heroine hesitates too long. The sex scenes are not numerous but well brought.

To conclude, I’m left a bit disappointed even if Hero’s Haven is an excellent volume in the series. We need stories for Adare, Garrett and Benjamin. So, there’re still at least three books. I don’t know what the author is planning but I can’t wait.
