I have been impatiently waiting for Quade’s book. His story from the beginning seemed like it would be compelling and somewhat emotional.

Quade is relieved that it is finally time to let go after centuries of suffering in the hellish dimension he has been in. After so long, he knows nothing but duty, barely remembering friends, loved ones and family.

Knowing there are no more portals or get out of jail free cards for him, he has come to accept his fate.

In dreams he finds surcease with a woman he does not know but is compelled toward.

Haven has been dreaming of a man for years. So much so that she believes she might be crazy. It doesn’t help that she feels inexorably drawn to both him and places she has never been or seen before. She follows this compulsion and realizes that Quade is flesh and bone and that they are both in danger.

After Haven meets Quade, she still is pulled toward different dimensions throughout her dreams and is still being inexorably pulled toward one portal. A portal she is scared to go through. Especially since Quade cannot follow.

What is behind that final portal? Will they survive long enough to explore the love that they could have?

This was an action-filled read and a story that kept me on my toes. I loved Quade and Haven together.

From the beginning I was thrust right into the action and adventure. It kept me on my toes from one minute to the next and I reveled in the mounting tension leading to the final battle with Ulric.

I loved Quade and Haven together. I had been waiting for their story and I can say that I’m quite satisfied with the result.

The saga continues as we get ever closer to that final battle. I cannot wait for more.

I received an ARC via NetGalley of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I will leave a review on Amazon and B&N on Jan 21, 2020

I received Hero's Haven by Rebecca Zanetti from NetGalley and the publisher and this is my fair and honest review of this book.

This is the 11th book in the Dark Protectors series, although it was the first one I have read in the series. Having said that it wasn't that hard to follow along with the storyline. I absolutely fell in love with Haven she was such a strong and amazing character, with all she went thru growing up. I have fallen in love with this series and will be going back and reading the other 10 books that I haven't read. The book is action packed, and hot hot hot! I would definitely recommend it to those that enjoy paranormal romance.

It’s been a while since I’ve read a Dark Protector book, and I’d forgotten how much I liked the world with all of its magical beings. What was especially nice was that I didn’t feel lost having skipped several books before picking up Hero’s Haven. Zanetti does a wonderful job of weaving in the supporting cast from previous books along with their story so that everything flows.

I won’t write a recap of the book because I don’t believe in giving away spoilers. However, I will say that I really liked Haven Daley. She was spunky and feisty and even though this was a new and somewhat crazy world, she did her best to embrace the new, instead of checking herself into a mental health ward like you’d expect. She also didn’t take being bossed around—not from the bad guys, not from psychotic, obsessed shifters or the love interest. She tried to do what was right and despite a crappy childhood, she had a really good heart.

As for Quade. Well, at times, I wanted to slap him. I hate the male dominance trick in the bedroom. That’s not how you get a woman to listen to you and I really, really hate it when authors use it in books. But hey, I know some people love that stuff. So, to each their own. When Quade wasn’t being a macho jerk, he was cute. Loved his obsession with eating toothpaste because it tasted too good not to eat it. Loved how he tried to understand this new time and world and his love of his brothers and oath, as well as his weakness for Haven.

Great supporting cast. Lots of fun moments mixed in with the fast-paced action. Super sexy. Prepare to have some emotional punches especially when it comes to Haven’s backstory. As with all of Zanetti’s series, whether it’s paranormal or romantic suspense, this story was well written and pulls you in from the first page and holds your attention to the last.

Rebecca Zanetti hasn't disappointed yet! This was such a good book, I didn't want to put it down once I started reading. I loved Quade and Haven and enjoyed catching up with her previous characters. I can't wait to read the next one.

HERO’S HAVEN by Rebecca Zanetti is the eleventh book in the Dark Protectors paranormal romantic suspense series. It worked as a stand-alone novel for me and is the second book that I have read in the series this year. However, I believe reading the previous books would likely add to a reader’s enjoyment of the novel.

The story takes place in several fantasy worlds as well as several western USA states including Montana, Idaho, Wyoming and Utah. Haven Daly dreams of a tormented man every night and thinks she can talk to him. During the day, she paints him and has even got a showing of her art in a gallery. Meanwhile, Quade Kayrs has experienced pain, torture, and isolation for lifetimes. He keeps his sanity through visions of a beautiful woman. Haven is a strong, independent woman who doesn’t easily succumb to heavy-handed protectiveness. Much to her amazement she is also an unusual blend of species making her a target for multiple groups. Meanwhile, Quade is dealing with new technology, family reunions, and a woman who won’t do as he demands.

The story had me hooked quickly and the tension and action as well as the romantic sparks did not let up throughout the book. The main characters are compelling and well developed with clear goals and motivations. The story delivers on the promise of its opening scenes and includes demons, vampires, steamy romance scenes, species hybrids, fae, humor, enemies, other dimensions, murder, kidnappings, brotherhood, vows, family, adoption, humor, the expected alpha males, and so much more.

Overall, I enjoyed this well-written novel and recommend the series to those that enjoy this genre. The plot was engrossing, fast-paced, action-packed, entertaining and thought-provoking. The world-building was intriguing and very visual. The ending was satisfying and intense. I look forward to reading the other books in this series.

Hero's Haven happens to be my first read of Zanetti's work. I took a giant leap into the Dark Protectors series and still found myself well acquainted with the characters. The history of each of the characters is revisited so that I didn't find my self lost. Considering that this is the eleventh book, I was hesitant to dive in. I am thankful that the author took the time to reflect on past events that are missed by not reading the former books.

This is a beautiful creation of a universe where worlds collide, and many different species coincide with one another. We are introduced to vampires, demons, fae, shifters and hybrids throughout the story. All of which play an important part in the premonitions of our heroine, Haven. Her unique blend of species raises questions within the realm of the paranormal and mark her as evil in the eyes of her adoptive human parents. Making her a target for all to chase. One lasting ability that lies within Haven, is the power to transfer through portals in her unconscious state. A power which was stripped away with the return of our hero Quade. The fight to bring back the main villain, Ulric, to Earth's dimension starts an ongoing battle.

Haven's character is independent, strong-minded, and defiant towards Quade. His over protectiveness makes it, at times, unbearable for her. Because of his time away, Quade has no knowledge of modern technology and the man is quite the traditionalist when it comes to mating. There's no if, and, or but once that decision is made...but the romance is heavy once you get halfway through the book.

I was constantly entertained by all the non-stop action that takes place. One thing happens right after the other and there's not much room for breaks in-between. I didn't feel the connection between Quade and Haven for a while, and that's the only reason why I didn't give this book a 5 star rating. I will however start back at the beginning of the series to catch up on everything I've missed. This book was very enjoyable and pleasing!

Dark Protector Series has not slowed down, this one is jam packed with action. This is hunky alpha hybrid Quade and crazy, or is she, Havens story. Humor.... toothpaste, lol. You have to read the book. We see the King and Queen, the Seven, Alphas and their mates. There is evil, Ulric, there is obsession. We see Hope, and what's going on there? All these little nuggets of things still to come. Well done and awesome for book 11, still going strong. Thank you NetGalley, Lyrical Press and Rebecca Zanetti for the arc. I freely volunteered to share my thoughts and opinions.

Hero's Haven is a wonderful addition to the Dark Protector series by Rebecca Zanetti. Haven is introduced to the paranormal world rather suddenly and as with all great heroines, takes it and owns it! Quade has been in a bubble (literally) for centuries and comes back with very antiquated views. Haven, being the strong lady she is, keeps him on his toes and provides for great dialogue between the two. While the underlying story is continuing to develop, it's doing so very slowly. I am hopeful that this series will come to a conclusion soon so we can see how the underlying story ends.

I’ve pretty much been looking forward to Quade’s book ever since The Seven were introduced to the series. And he did not disappoint! And neither did Haven, both of them fought their mating till the bitter end but it was so very entertaining to watch them resist. They both had hard lives, neither believing that love or ‘mating’ was in the cards for them but once they started to trust each other it helped them find their way to a HEA. Very much enjoyed this couple, they couldn’t have been more different yet they found a way to compromise and work together (Though Quade fought it till the very end lol)

This series gets more intense with each new book. The big fight is coming and you feel it in each book more then the last. This one was full of action and humour which I always love. And we got lots of time with some favourite characters from previous books. Really hoping we get more books focusing on the Fae, I find them really fascinating and think they have so many stories to tell. Excited for the next book! I can’t decide if I want Garrett or Benny more. Either way I know I’ll enjoy it!

Trapped in an alternate world he found hope in the visions of a mystery woman, until the day she saved him and then they are forced to run for their lives. Tons of adventure, mystery, romance, and deception I was enthralled with this book and the mysteries of others. The characters are wonderful and the story so engaging I did not want to put it down, just when you thought that things were settling another surprise pops up. I'm very interested in reading more about the seven.

This was another great entry to the Dark Protector's series. I love Rebecca Zanetti and think I have read everything she has written. She is an author that is an automatic buy for me and she almost never disappoints. We are progressing forward on the Ulric story arc and we get to see Quade finally come home. I enjoyed seeing the relationship between Haven and Quade and there was non stop action almost from the first page. Man, I hope they finally can find a headquarters that isn't blown up...well, we can always hope. :)

Another winner from Zanetti. Read it quickly and am looking forward to the next installment.

Thank you to Netgalley, Rebecca Zanetti and the publisher for my advanced copy for which I leave my honest review❤️

Hero's Haven is a gritty dark paranormal romance. There are few others as skilled at characterization act his author. How much fun to return to this series. Within this already built Dark Protectors world (this book is well into the series- #11), we get the return of a half vampire/half demon to our world who's been away so long all the modern changes are new, not that they slow him down. Fun jabs at the processed food world. This wasn't a scheduled return for the immortal but a surprise. His life collides immediately with Haven, both of whom have met in dreams many times over the years. she's a woman who believed herself human, although she is most definitely not, despite some unusual issues that clearly point to otherworldly abilities. There's insta-bonding on his part and much to my delight quite a bit of reluctance on her part. Much more realistic than the insta-love thing which is written into the code of this world.

This is a non-stop, action filled story with some super hot sexy times (when they finally give in to the heat). There were overtones of antiquated mentality toward women that the two of them had to work through. It's not an easy road but what a fun story.
Great fun, fast read.

Haven has been visiting vampire-demon Quade Kayrs in her realistic dreams for years, thinking he was not real and she was mentally ill. She's been painting him, other worlds, and people she hasn't met. She didn't realize that she was traveling through portals to other worlds and that her paintings were prophetic. Haven eventually learns that she's not human and not mentally ill, but I won't spoil any more of that here.

Quade has been on another world keeping the evil Cyst Ulric contained. His world implodes and he expects to die, but Haven yanks him back to Earth.

Quade and Haven go on the run from enemies on multiple fronts, all the while searching for Quade's brothers--in blood and in arms--the Seven. It's a fast-paced book in which Quade and Haven jump from one fire into another into another.

There's a lot of Zanetti's signature humor in the book. One kidnapping scene in particular is actually very funny. The Seven are quirky and at times inept.

Hero's Haven is full of suspense, humor, an alpha male getting used to a new era, and love. Highly recommended.

This book was everything we needed in the series! Getting to see Haven come to the realization that she isn’t crazy was amazing. Seeing Emma, Dage, and the rest of the Karys clan was great.
The story was great. The story of Quade has been one that drew me in. The idea of Quade living this crazy secluded life for a million years.
Haven, living this crazy life where she didn’t understand what made her different from every one else.
The added sideline with havens adopted family thinking she was possessed by a demon *snickers* made this story pretty close to perfect.

Well that was absolutely perfect! Everything you want and need to sum up this series.... although I’m sure it’s not over yet. I loved how she pulled this this all together with past connecting characters ang with all the feel good and lol moments.

This was Quaid and Haven’s story. She is a fairy-demon highbred and he just returned from the world he was stuck in for centuries. They’ve had a connection for years during her dreams and now they’re figuring out this world together. There of course is a lot of action and adventure and battles and a few sexy times mixed in as well. It’s everything you I have come to expect from this series. Hero's Haven is the latest book in the Dark Protector's series and should be read in order with the rest of the series. Quade has endured a lifetime of hell as one of the Seven protecting the world from Ulrich and isolated in his own dimension until a spunky demon/fairy hybrid drags him back to Earth. Haven's childhood was rough with a zealot father who believed he could drive a demon out of her. She escaped all the while questioning her sanity but now she knows the truth and the big sexy man she rescued is her fated mate. Danger comes from all sides as Quade and Haven learn to adjust to their new reality and fight the good fight while falling in love. Full of action and an overbearing, sexy hero, the story draws you in and the pages fly by for another winning installment in the Dark Protector's world. My voluntary, unbiased review is based upon a review copy from Netgalley.

Hero's Haven by Rebecca Zanetti
Not really into vampires and other creatures but I do love the author's works so thought I'd give this book a try.
Like the things I learn as there is no diecast for what each of the creatures can do from author to author.
It's all in your imagination that makes it work. This author is very descriptive, enough so you can picture it in your mind and the scenes.
Found some parts I really liked and some I just don't understand-not being a reader of this genre.
Sexual scenes were a bit off the top and I really liked how they moved in their travels and used latest technologies to achieve it all.
Like meeting their relatives and we find out over time why each one has relationship problems from their past.
Like some of the scientific things-portals, traveling from universe and back and forth, blood letting and how it made they stronger with healing-wish it'd work for humans with the disease we have these days.
Toothpaste incidents are hilarious!
Finishes up with acknowledgment and other works by the author are highlighted. Wouldn't mind reading more of this series.

Hero's Haven is Quade and Haven's story. I'm so glad Quade has finally come home. It was pretty fun to see him adjust to technology after being away for so long. He's still got that famous Zanetti alpha personality that I love so much.

Haven is one of my more favorite heroines in this series. She's not a fighter at all but that never seemed to be a handicap for her. It's cool to find out what she is and the capabilities that she has. She played such a big role in this book.

This couple was fun. I really loved how he tried to insert his dominance and she just said no. Their banter was entertaining.

I'll never get tired of seeing everyone again in each new book. I just love this world that RZ has created. This is one of those series where I hope we get tons of books but also makes me anxious to see how this is all going to play out with Ulrich.

I'm willing to be patient because we have more Zanetti males to find their mates. Benny is going to be one crazy ride!

Hero’s Haven was good, but it wasn’t what I was expecting. I’m not exactly sure what I was expecting, I think I wanted a little more time of Quade and Haven apart before coming together. But I did enjoy it and it was a solid addition to the Realm world. I can’t wait until the next book, who I really hope it is about Adare.
