Usually I can see twists coming. Not always, but usually at the end of the book I feel like I knew what direction it was going.
But this book. Oh man. I had no idea this was going to happen, I did not see it coming. I really enjoyed this book and I would recommend checking it out if you like being shook...
Never saw that twist coming. Good solid book was an easy read and got right into this one.
Thanks to the publisher and Net Galley for an early release of this book.

I got totally engrossed in The Argument that I read it in under a day. Such a simple concept but it works so well. You feel the plot is building throughout adding tenseness and angst with each turn of the page. A brilliant psychological thriller that many will also enjoy.
Thank you to NetGalley, Bookouture and the author for the chance to review.
How many times have you seen a book cover that says there's an incredible twist in the story, and then when you read it you're like "wait, that was the incredible twist? I saw it coming from a mile away!" ? Well, "The argument" is not that book. The TWIST (and I write that in caps that incredible of a twist it was) made my jaw hit the floor when it happened.
I will keep my review short cause I don't wanna give anything away. For the first half of the book it's more of a domestic suspense story, with a pretty complicated mother-daughter relationship, where I must say I was more on Hannah's side, not understanding Olivia's brattish behavior. I think this part was a bit slow, dragging along in some aspects. But then the TWIST happened and the story became an unputdownable thriller. I literally have no nails left! I couldn't put it down for the last few chapters so engrossed was I.
"The argument" was my first book by Victoria Jenkins but certainly won't be my last.

An intriguing story with a unique plot.
Olivia (15) attends a party that her parents did not approve of. Her mother, Hanna (34) and Olivia have a big row when Olivia returns home at 11:30. Michael, Olivia's father, is out of town on business. Olivia's comment to Hannah is - "I came back, didn't I?" The three wines Olivia had at the party fuel her belligerent behavior and Hannah confiscates her phone. Olivia decides she will show her parents. She gives both of her parents the silent treatment. Olivia lies awake thinking that she is glad she did not mention HIM to her mum. However, her diary is a different story.
As the reader becomes more familiar with the characters in the book the plotline becomes quite surprising. The characters are well depicted (even if you do not like them!) The are a few twists that lure the reader to read non-stop to the end!
Excellently written. Recommend!
Many Thanks to Bookouture and NetGalley for a fine read.
