Nick and Charlotte’s story is an emotional and moving tale in The Billionaire in Boots by Julia London, book three in The Princes of Texas series. Nick is the eldest Prince children whose wings were clipped with the death of their father. Unlike the twins who had the freedom to do what they wanted, Nick was forced to take over the management and operation of the ranch and clean up all the messes his father left behind. All Nick ever wanted to do was become a pilot and travel. As office manager Charlotte knows it’s her responsibility to help Nick but he’s been grumpy, sad, and brooding and she just wants to make him feel good. Nick knows that Charlotte is off-limits and Charlotte knows that Nick is not long-term material as he’s trying to leave but when these two work together the office steams up from the heat and electricity between them. I love the way Charlotte uses humor to make the situation easier between them. Her humor is hysterical and she definitely makes Nick laugh, even if she’s making him crazy. Nick is torn between wanting to stay to be with Charlotte and going to flight school. Knowing this responsible man, he will figure out a way to make it work; especially since these two belong together.

Ms. London wrote a wonderful, emotional, humorous story that is not to be missed. She provided a tale rich with sexual chemistry, amusing banter, lots of laughs, and charming characters giving Nick and Charlotte that chance at love, family and a future together. I highly recommend The Billionaire in Boots to other readers and look forward to reading the next book in this series.

Nick and Charlotte are have become one of my favorite couples after reading this book.
Charlotte runs the office and business that Nick owns after he inherited it when his father passed away but doesn't want. He would rather be flying.
Charlotte wants to have a family and is searching for the right guy. Unfortunately, her search is filled with men who aren't what they seem online. Her heart keeps hoping on Nick.
The book had me laughing at time as Charlotte dealt with Nick, both as a boss and friend. And the secondary characters of Nick's mom, Cordelia, and Nick's grandmother, Dolly, brought added life to the book.
Nick and Charlotte help each other find exactly what they need and had been searching for. Although not without a little heartbreak along the way.

This is the 3rd book in the series. It is still a strong stand alone. We are back at River Ranch and the gang is all back. Nick has had his dreams crushed and is trying to make the best of it, while still holding out hope. His feelings for Charlotte have gotten stronger but he doesn’t see a point to them. He’s the kind of guy that won’t eat meat because he loves his animals. Charlotte is like a strong breeze in a storm. She knows what she wants and goes after it. I love their playfulness, the banter and emails! It’s a wonderful story with strong other characters in between.

This is the third book in the series about the Prince family. Nick Prince is the oldest and as such, the death of his father landed all the running of the family's ranch and cattle company on his shoulders, a ranch and company that was heavily in debt due to his father's gambling. Problem is, he never wanted to stay on the ranch, his life's dream is to be a pilot, eventually with one of the big airlines so that he could get out of town and see the world. But he reluctantly takes on the job, grumbling all the time because no one ever asked him what _he_ wanted to do.

Charlotte Bailey is worried that she'll never marry or have a family. She knows Nick wants her but he is afraid to take the first step because he's not ready to settle down long-term and knows that she is. She works for the cattle company as office manager/secretary, and her interactions with Nick are both hysterically funny and sad at the same time. There's a lot of back and forth flirting that had me laughing out loud.at times. Then you add in the other siblings, on both sides, and his mother and grandmother, and it's hard to keep a straight face.

I'm glad there will be at least one more book in the series -- can't wait!

If you've read the books prior to this one then you might like me been waiting for Nick and Charlotte's story. We've gotten a glimpse of them in the prior books and you have to wonder how they'd be together.

Well, your wait is over. I have to say that Charlotte cracked me up for most of this book. I just loved her. When they email each other you can't help but chuckle a little. So funny. It really started the story so nicely.

This was not an easy relationship. First off they both wanted different things in life. Poor Nick felt like he had been locked into a business he didn't want to run. Not for a minute. I think that made him angry and also lonely. He had all the weight of the family on his shoulders. It's very sad to me. Since I really enjoyed the family I hated that he wasn't happy.

I think because of his unhappiness he was at times a hard character to like. But if you looked down deep below the business stuff he is a wonderful man who cares about those around him. He just wants to do him.

Now on to Charlotte. Poor Charlotte everyone is moving on and having families and she wants that so badly. Too bad she falls for the one man who doesn't. She deserves a life and someone who will love her wholely.

Even when these two aren't together they are cute together. When Nick draws her into his life as a pilot and what he's doing is so cute. It shows just how perfect these two are together.

As a whole, this is a good story that you will enjoy. The interaction between the half brother and Charlotte didn't make me like him though. He's not that nice. I'm so glad that I took the time to review The Billionaire in Boots. Do yourself a favor and read the books in order. You will enjoy all the characters better that way especially the mother and grandmother.

As the firstborn son, it's been drilled into Nick that he is the heir apparent to the Prince family empire. But cattle ranching has never been his true passion. Nick wants to be a pilot. However, when his father dies, leaving Nick to clean up the mess, he knows he must do his duty before following his heart.

Nick's grandmother always said Nick was born with a broken heart.
When Nick realized his dream of becoming a pilot was suddenly taken away from him. He started believing with was true.

Nick hated everything about ranching and huge responsibility of caring for the business.

After his father's death realized how much debt was left behind. Nick knew, he had to make hard decisions to save the family business.

Charlotte has been running Prince business for five years. She knew there was some problems.

However, her and Nick had a troubling relationship and want sure they could work together to solve the problems.

Nick knew he was going to have work with investors and take a loan out to save the company. Not sure how he explain the money troubles to his family who never had to budget in their live.

Nick and Charlotte started working together to save business. Along the way they found love and duration to save Prince business.

Finding love Nick realized maybe a broken heart can be mended.

I’ve been waiting for Charlotte’s book and was so excited for this one.

I’ve liked Charlotte since she first came into the page of one of the previous books. She’s smart and sunny and so friendly. Nick is a stoic grouch with a bit of a chip on his shoulder. Together there’s loads of button pushing, banter, and chemistry. Of course it’s fun to see the other couples and Dolly.

Plot wise it was good. There’s a lot of inner monologue, but more dialogue than the previous books. I loved how these two screwed with with each other...okay, it was mostly Charlotte. The good times were going so good, that I almost didn’t see the shoe drop. Thankfully, the angsty times didn’t last long.

Overall, I’ve really enjoyed this series and I’m intrigued at the set up of the next book. I’ll definitely be reading because I want to see more of these two and their HEA.

I received an ARC of this book to read through NetGalley in exchange for a fair review. The Billionaire in Boots by Julia London is the third book in her Princes of Texas series. It’s not necessary to have read the first two books to enjoy this one, but it’s an excellent series, and I highly recommend them all. Nicholas (Nick) Prince had a plan for his life, and it all fell apart when his father died because his father had gambled away quite a bit of the family fortune and as the oldest child responsibility for the Saddlebush Land and Cattle Company fell on him dashing plans to attend flight school. Nick’s great-grandmother described him as being born with a broken heart when he was a baby and he’s beginning to wonder if that’s not true, he’s a cattleman who doesn’t eat meat, has several rescue animals, and can’t even admit to himself that the reason he’s upset about his office manager dating is because he’s pining for her himself but too much of a gentleman to ever do anything about it because he’s her boss and he doesn't want kids. Charlotte Bailey wants a family, and she’s worried that it’s not going to happen… dating sucks, her poor eggs are getting older and then there’s Nick, she knows he wants to kiss her but he’s never going to make the first step. This is a lovely slow-burn romance with a hero and a heroine that you can’t help but cheer for, and I enjoyed it very much. Medium Steam. One of the reasons I love Julia London’s books is that she has the ability to switch it up with just about every book she writes. The result is fresh, crisp writing that engages from the start, and that has certainly been the case with Billionaire in Boots. This is the third book in her contemporary western romance series The Princes of Texas. It reads beautifully as a stand-alone story but the first two books are also fantastic so my recommendation would be to start at the beginning and work your way through. You’ll get a better insight into this complex family and a more rounded reading experience.
This book focuses on Nick Prince, the oldest son, whose passion in life is aviation. He has wanted to be a commercial airline pilot for nearly his whole life and is understandably resentful when his father dies and he is forced into running the sprawling family ranch instead.
Charlotte, his office manager, has been in her job for eleven years working first for Nick’s father Charlie and then with Nick. She’s exceptionally efficient where Nick is sometimes rather absent-minded and the witty, flirty emails between the pair of them keep the story moving at a sparkling pace.
The spark between Nick and Charlotte is explosive but Charlotte is obsessed with having a family and Nick is desperate to fly and see the world, making for plenty of push and pull between this pair. Add in some fabulous secondary characters to keep things light and humorous and you have a story that is definitely worth reading at least once.

I've enjoyed other titles by this author. I did not enjoy this one. I had not realized it was the 3rd book in a series. I feel the book was okay to read as a stand alone, But I found that I did not care for Charlotte Bailey. Charlotte works as the office manager for Nick Prince at the Saddlebush Land and Cattle Company. Nick is unhappy that he is running the company instead of pursuing his love of flying. The romance between the two hit some speed bumps along the way. I didn't understand the title of the book since his father left the company with significant debt when he died of a heart attack.

Love. I love it. I’ve always been a big fan of Julia London, and especially this Texas series! As a Texan born and bred, it’s fun for me to see the Texas references. The storytelling is fantastic.... and I actually shed a few tears towards the end. The only bad thing about this series is how long I have to wait for the next installment. ❤️
I’m in love with the Prince family.

Nick and Charlotte....my new favorite couple. Charlotte, the outgoing, sarcastic heroine. Nick, the brooding, kind hearted hero. I loved them together. Their banter had me laughing out loud, their emotions had me crying. A wonderful story of friends to lovers and following your dreams, even if you have to update them a little here and there. Great book!

A great third book to the Princes of Texas romance series! All three so far have been interesting in their own way, and I absolutely loved seeing that snarky spark between these two - particularly during their email chain in the beginning.
Nick is running the family ranch despite wanting to get out of his home town and stay there. And Charlotte is his office manager who has babies and happily ever after on the brain! You can't deny that she is bound an determined to make her dreams come true, despite our guy Nick not living up to the potential she sees in him right away.
It was enjoyable to see these two end up together, but seeing Charlotte set so rigidly on Nick as her man was almost uncomfortable to read sometimes. That said, it's nice to see the other side of the independent female sometimes.
While I think you could read this as a standalone, it's nice to see some post couple action from the previous duos in the series. And who can't wait for book four with Tanner? He has some ground to cover due to past actions, but there's nothing better than seeing a bad boy taken to task. Yet another great read from Julia London!

This is the third book in the Princes of Texas series. I haven't read the other two in the series but I really enjoyed this one. I will go back to read the others. I really enjoyed Charlotte and Nick's banter. I laughed out loud many times. Very good read!

This is the third installment of Julia London’s contemporary Western series, The Princes of Texas. As is usual with this author’s books, I was delighted by the relationships between characters, her use of humor, the description of the Texas landscape, and the fact that this was just a well written story. Nick, the oldest of the Prince siblings has his lifelong dream come to a halt after the death of his father. Taking over running the Prince ranch, Nick works closely with Charlotte who has been running the office for the family for some time. She too is pining to make her dream of having a family become a reality. The chemistry between Nick and Charlotte is undeniable, even though they don’t see it. Their working relationship is told through their entertaining emails to each other. Lots of humor here which makes this story so hard to put down. Also, lots of soul searching and dreaming of second chances. I highly recommend this and the earlier books in the series. I’m looking forward to more from the Princes of Texas.

Love, love Julia London! I enjoyed the first book in this series so much and the characters in the 3rd book are just as inviting! I am so mad at myself for somehow missing the galley for the 2nd book. My heart won't be happy until I've found and read the 2nd book. I thoroughly enjoy my immersion into the world of these fully-developed and quirky characters!

This was a sweet, sort-of-friends to lovers story with a slow burn and plenty of learning along the way. Charlotte and Nick spent one night together and have tried to ignore their chemistry ever since. Nick's now her boss at a ranch he doesn't want to run, mired down by debt and poor decisions his father made. He's trying to do everything for his family and resenting the fact that he's doing nothing for himself and his dreams of flight school have been put on permanent hold. Charlotte wants a husband and kids and the happy life she imagines others have. But what she really enjoys is tweaking Nick over his isolationist, grumpy tendencies and his inability to follow her color-coding filing system.

The problem with Nick and Charlotte is that they both have goals for their lives, but haven't quite figured out what they really WANT long term. And even though they communicate perfectly at work, relationship communicating (especially on Nick's part) doesn't come as easily. With two loud, nosy, and opinionated families 'helping' them and nosy and opinionated neighbors in a small town wanting all the gossip, they find it hard to have the real conversations needed in any relationship.

Charlotte is a bouncy, fun, stubborn person who needs someone just as stubborn to match her. I have to say it was Nick who I really connected with in this one. A slightly withdrawn loner who still wouldn't mind not being alone all the time but doesn't really known how to go about it, Nick is complicated and quiet, sweet and grumpy. He has an easier time with animals than people and doesn't hesitate to step into his dad's shoes- even though he really doesn't want to. He has the unfortunate habit of imagining there is only one way something can work and not asking for help or talking out other ideas to look for new options, but also has the delightful (and rare) ability to admit when he is wrong and apologize.

Full of awful first dates, adorable animals and plenty of humor, "The Billionaire in Boots" is a light, emotional, sparkling story that will make you glad you read it.

The Billionaire in Boots
Series: Princes of Texas 3rd book
Rating: 4 stars

Great, great story about second chance at love and dreams!! I've wanted Nick's story ever since the first book came out. He has always stood out for me in the previous books. This book, for me, was all about Nick (sorry Charlotte). He has been the one to carry the world on his shoulders. There were many times that all he needed was some understanding or a hug, especially from his mother. Of his siblings he was the one who REALLY got the short end of the stick when his father died. His dreams of becoming a pilot had to be put on hold, since he is now responsible for cleaning up all the mess his father left behind when he died. He lost track of his dream of becoming a pilot and there was no time for love.
His days always seemed a little brighter when he was arguing with Charlotte. They enjoyed pushing each others buttons in their own way. Though they gave each other a hard time deep down they both had feelings for each other. Their first attempt at something went south, but that chemistry was always there for them.
I really liked them together. I loved the antics they pulled on each other and their dogs were just adorable. Those couple of last chapters brought tears to my eyes but all was well in the end.
I highly recommend this book and I will say that I thought it would be the last but luckily we get one more! Yay!!

Nick and Charlotte’s story was a great one. I loved the characters personalities and how they both learned and grew from being with the other. No romance is complete without a little love trouble and I certainly found myself discreetly wiping my eyes.

Nick Prince has had one dream most of his life despite what his family always had in mind: to be a pilot and not a rancher. Since his father passed, Nick had been saddled in a cowboy way with running the huge family spread that is in deep financial trouble due to his father’s gambling ways. Nick’s grumpy demeanor and sad sack personality make it clear to everyone he is not living the dream. Family weighs heavily on Nick’s mind as well as the burden he never wanted to shoulder with digging the ranch out of a financial nightmare.

Charlotte Bailey is the sunshine to Nick’s gloom. As his office manager, Charlotte keeps Nick afloat because he is pretty clueless when it comes to the business side of the ranch. Nick has the cowboy thing down working the 75,000 acre cattle spread which is a relentless job in itself. Besides growing up together in the small Texas town, they have another kind of history that keeps both Charlotte and Nick riled up in push me, pull you kind of way. Their attraction escalates to flame-up proportions, but as everyone knows, office romances have the potential explode.

Charlotte’s bright and happy personality with her witty remarks and saucy attitude are quite a contrast to Nick’s dour demeanor. Words are not his friends and communicating what he wants only frustrates Nick and those around him. His family does not seem to really understand or always support what Nick wants out of life. Charlotte has her own dreams that not have been realized and even though her feelings for Nick are deep as his are for her, he does not seem to see a way forward for them. While I really enjoyed Charlotte, Nick’s stubborn tunnel vision is a bit hard to take especially when his actions cause a lot of hurt and misery all around. My empathy for him was low; Nick is one of those characters that need smacking with his own book. That being said, I still enjoy this series quite a bit as the ensemble of characters are quite entertaining and authentic to Texas. This book is the third in the Princes of Texas series, but can be read as a standalone.
