ARC received via Netgalley for an honest review
Though this is the 3rd in the Princes of Texas series, it could be read as a standalone (I forgot all I read in book 2 and still enjoyed it)
Charlotte and Nick have been dancing around each other for a long while, and just when you think that it is going to be more of the same, moves are finally mad.
I like the Charlotte is not afraid to tell him like it is. She knows what she wants, and she is going to get it, come hell or high water.
Their initial email conversations had me smiling and laughing at times. Full of snark, you can practically feel them both rolling their eyes.
This book was full of sweet, full of sexy and oh my goodness I was so frustrated at times with our cowboy. I knew he would finally come to his senses but sheeeesh it took him a while!
I loved seeing more of Hallie and Rafe from book 2, and I really do need to go back and read book 1
Something started to happen that I was hoping for all through this read, but now I have to wait a while to see where it goes. I don't want to wait lol
I am new to Julia London stories, however I have liked what I have read so far, and look forward to reading more in the future.
Nick and Charlotte have known each other for a long time. They live in small town Texas and she runs the office of his family business. Nick doesn’t want to run the business, but his father passed away and left it to him. All Charlotte wants is an adoring husband to give her children to care for. Nick and Charlotte’s relationship hasn’t always been business. There might have been a hook up at the company Christmas party and while back. Can these two work through the sexual tension to do what needs to be done with the business? Oh...and the dogs are a great addition to the story. Rufus is hilarious! Cute fun country romance for those looking to feel good.
I read this book while I was away. on vacation in Italy. Even though I was on the other side of the world, I was immediately transported to the Texas ranch that Nick owned and Charlotte helped manage for ages. It’s the classic ‘no office romances allowed,’ except this one featured a cowboy. I enjoyed spending time with both characters and I never got the sense that Charlotte was a pushover. The paperback arrives in stores on 03/03/2020 from Berkley Publishing. I’m looking forward to checking out the other novels from this author!
Thanks to NetGalley providing me with an advanced reader’s copy,
I loved the book. It was great. The story was interesting. However there was nothing about a puppy in the whole book. There was animals of all kinds. But when there is a puppy on the cover I would assume that there should be a puppy in the story.
I missed book one with Ella and Luca's story. Though I do need to go back and read it, it's not necessary to enjoy the series. The books stand-alone very well.
I really enjoyed Hallie and Rafe's story but I like Charlotte and Nick even more. Their initial email interactions when we meet them are so entertaining. I love Charlotte's capable nature and her sass to Nick. You can tell Nick isn't near as annoyed with her as he acts like he is.
These stories are complex and don't have cookie cutter endings. London does a fantastic job of building the feelings and drawing the reader in to experience them as well. I read so many books but few give me tingles like I'm really a participant instead of an outsider. London is good with the "feels".
You don't have to love cowboys to enjoy this story. Any lover of a good HEA will enjoy this book and the series.
Nick is a vegetarian cattle rancher who takes care of abandoned animals even though he runs a ranch. Charlotte runs the ranch office and bemoans the ticking of her biological clock. Nick is not sure he even wants children or wants to run a ranch. He wants to fly commercial airlines and see the world. Charlotte is really to settle down and has her children’s names and numbers ready to go.
The characters are wonderfully drawn. Charlotte’s delightfully funny banter alone is worth reading this book but the rest of the book adds so much character and depth. I would recommend this to my patrons.
I read the first book in the series and it was really awesome. I did not read the 2nd book but I loved the 1st book so much that I couldn't wait to read this story. Its about the oldest brother and rancher, Nick and his office manager, Charlotte. I love rancher stories and I love workplace romances so I thought it would be a very fun and flirty romance.
It had its moments I guess you could say. And I absolutely LOVED Charlotte. She is feisty and fun and she challenges Nick a lot. But Nick really was my issue with this story. I truly HATED him. At first I pitied him. He is living a life he abhors and he dreams of being a pilot and is stuck as a rancher instead. His dream kinda makes him miserable and a jerk and a grumpy guy..
At times I felt he was this huge coward. Beyond fear of changing his and Charlotte's relationship I could not figure out why they were not together. So I did not like him as I felt he was a HUGE coward and that is not sexy at all. And then he does something so horrible to Charlotte that I HATED him. HATED him. I enjoyed watching him suffer and I loved that Charlotte tortured him alot.
So while this story was very well written and the author created a male figure that I hated ALOT, if that was her goal. She totally suceeded. I HATED Nick so much. Even though at the end he fixes things I still hated him.
