This book was just not for me. I got lost in all the random characters and it was just hard to follow. Definitely a DNF.

I thought this book was a cute read, but wasn’t something I’d rave about. I enjoyed the traveling/road trip aspect of it but the main character just ruined it for me. She seemed immature and self absorbed I got annoyed. I would say this is a good vacation read or something quick to take your mind on vacation!

This has definitely put me off coach tours lol but the characters dealt with it well and everything they had to put up with of course made for a good story. I liked finding out the backstorys of the characters and why each of them were there. It was interesting reading this at a time where European travel isn't allowed and it perhaps adds a wistfulness to the read.

I didn’t really like the narrator - she seemed very narcissistic. The writing was a bit repetitive for my taste (overuse of “lady parts” really got me).

That Night in Paris was such a cute little break. It's essentially a road trip, but it's a road trip across Europe and there was an adorable romance that I had fun reading.

We follow Catherine on this last-minute trek on an organized bus tour to places including Paris (lol duh), Venice, Rome, Amstersdam, etc., etc. She and the small group of friends that she forms each have their own romance troubles but in a low-key adorable re-meet cute, Catherine runs into an old childhood friend who has had a serious glow-up since they've last talked. All of the characters are a little cliche, but Jean Luc was a literal dream and the romance between him and Catherine was very charming.

My favorite part of this was the romance element to it. If I were to break down the book into two plots, there would be the romantic plot, and the traveling plot. The romance part was the part of the book that I really enjoyed. It was sweet and relatively simple and made the book something that I could totally see me reading on vacation somewhere. There was just enough of a bump in the road to happiness to make me want to pick the book back up, but it wasn't so gripping that I was on the edge of my seat. It had a nice relaxed tone around it.

Maybe surprisingly, I didn't really love the traveling plot of the book. There is something that is almost compellingly interesting about a random group of strangers bonding and spending so much time together, but it wasn't carrying the day for me. Also, while the descriptions of the different locations were beautiful (I definitely added some to Pinterest), I just got to the point where I wanted less of that and more of the romance between Catherine and Jean Luc.

This would for real be a great vacation book for anyone. It's more than because the characters are all on vacation; there's a lightness to the atmosphere and sweetness to it that is refreshing. The series is perfectly titled as "Holiday Romance Books."

A bus holiday with a difference. All aboard for a whistle stop coach tour of Europe in this gorgeous book!

Cat Parsons is on the run. Her roommate has admitted to being in love with her after a messy one night stand. The main issue really is that she doesn't love him back and doesn't know what to do about it. A spur of the moment coach trip is booked to escape from the madness. However, love always does come calling for us all eventually. The first stop is Paris, the city of love...

The main thing I took away from this book is that I never want to do a coach tour. I've seen Coach Trip on TV often enough to know that it's just not for me, but this just reaffirmed it. In this book there's dodgy lodgings and enough shenanigans to last a lifetime.

I really enjoyed this book, it transported me to lots of places in Europe I'd love to visit. There's more description of some cities than others but it was enjoyable nonetheless. I can't wait until this pandemic is over so I can go and visit some of these places. Thank you to Sandy Barker for transporting me in the mean time!

Cat does the deeply unexpected- she goes on a bus tour of Europe. Two weeks, many stops. We won't be doing this anytime soon so enjoy this light rom-com travelogue and think about where you want to visit when it's possible again. Cat's left behind a romantic mess and she plunges into making friends, not lovers, on this tour. Then she meets Jean Luc. There's no heavy lifting here, the pages turn quickly, and Barker's a good storyteller who can capture a character in a few sentences. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. Seriously this book was amazing. It was literally a fast speed journey through Europe. No not that book just the trip ;) Running away from her last mistake Cat makes wonderful new friends and meets her past. That past she still has regrets about, the one and only friendship she worshipped the most. Jean-Luc - French, hot and oh so sweet.

Now it's time to right the wrongs and maybe just maybe get new insight of love.

Peeps this book was truly something else. I was laughing, I was frowning, I was sad and I was happy.

It was simply brilliant.

I enjoyed the first book in this series, One Summer in Santorini, but this one was better. I loved the tour aspect, and the descriptions of the different places. I really want to go to Lauterbrunnen now! The romance was fine, and not as cringy as most (I'm not a huge fan of romances in general). But for me, the best part was the relationship between Cat and her "bus besties", especially Lou. As others have said, Cat begins the trio as somewhat self-obsessed, but she fully realizes this and really grows by the end. A satisfying escapist read, full of heartfelt and touching moments, and just the kind of thing we all need right now.

This was a great fast read about love, friendship and traveling. The friendship in this book was really lovely. It’s a reminder that true friends can be found anywhere at any time. I also enjoyed some of the places that they were traveling to and how they were described.

Although there was some things I didn’t quite connect with. I never really felt connected to the main character and there was some loose ends in the story. I didn’t like the flashbacks about Scott and felt they were unnecessary. I also wanted to know more about the other characters and what happened to them.

All in all, it was a great book and I smiled and laughed while I read it.

Catherine (Cat) has drunken sex with her flatmate Alex and feels the instant need to escape him, and England.
Her sister Sarah used to be a tour guide on European bus tours and it always sounded a lot of fun, so that’s what she did…..booked up a tour. It was leaving the next day.
She ended up sitting next to Louise, who was to be her bus bestie. In the seats in front were Jaelee and Danielle. They all were escaping something back home and we find out about each of them as the story progresses.
The relationships between the travellers on the bus were interesting. There were many characters but I never was mixed up and they all added to the story even if only a small part.
Some of the campsites they stayed in were awful, so they made the most of their daytrips out, finding lovely backstreet cafes and seeing the sights.
After a chance encounter in a Paris street Cat gets reunited with her best friend from childhood Jean-Luc. He was an exchange student and stayed with her family in Australia. Jean-Luc has grown into a really gorgeous man. She has feelings for him, and him for her. Will love blossom, or will the tour put a barrier between them?
I liked the touring aspect. Not something I’ve ever done but all the descriptions of the places they visited make me fancy it, especially the mountain scenery in Switzerland.
An easy-going read and I enjoyed it.

I enjoyed the story to begin with.I must say I found my interest waning towards the end. In saying that the writing was very good and I enjoyed the travel aspect of the story.

I really enjoyed this authors first novel but this one didn't grip me as much as the first. Sometimes I was reading it and had to go back because some of it didn't make sense and I wasn't 100% sure on the characters either. Having said that it was an easy read that was a perfect way to while away a few hours in this uncertain time and at the end I felt more uplifted with it's laugh-out-loud moments. I'd recommend if you want an easy read

Lovely romance, friendship and adventure on the road in the city of romance, Paris. That is, of course after the main character made a drunk mistake of hooking up with her roommate that is secretly in love with her. The trip might have been an escape but it opened her eyes and eventually her heart.

I fell love with the cover and wanted to love this story. Even if it's quite entertaining I found the plot a bit confusing and there are too many characters.

A fun read about a woman escaping from a one night stand and ending up on a European Coach trip!
You get a real sense of what it must be like to be on Coach Trip on the TV to be fair and what campsites in Europe to avoid haha. Plenty of nice places which come across well and there are fleeing visits to enjoy.

The language does let it down somewhat as these are 30 year old women who speak like teenagers. A few too many characters as well but the fun factor of the tour made me smile anyway.

That Night in Paris is the first book I’ve read from Sandy Barker and I did mostly enjoy it. I loved the characters and the camaraderie of the four bus besties. Plus the food and location descriptions were amazing and of course what’s not to love if the author happens to throw a sexy French man in there too. There were some very entertaining parts and I enjoyed the plot line. The only thing slightly less positive I have to say is I thought the pace dropped off slightly towards the middle of the book but it did then pick back up. I would rate this 3.5 stars.

This book was not good. It was a good idea that unfortunately wasn't very well executed.
Cat drunkenly sleeps with her roommate, Alex, and then runs away on a 2 week bus tour - ahem, excuse me, COACH trip of Europe. Alex is in love with her and she wants nothing to do with him. End of.
On the trip she immediately bonds with 3 other female travelers. They all have their reasons for escaping too. On a night out in Paris, she runs into a guy who was her best friend in Australia. She ended their friendship 20 years ago when her then boyfriend got jealous. Will she end up with Jean Luc? Will she let herself fall in love?

So I had a lot of issues with this.
There were too many characters with tangential storylines that went NOWHERE. Why even bother? They didn't add anything to the main plot.
Is the author Australian or British? It's like she had to keep reminding us that the character was Australian and look at me! I'm using Aussie slang! Or is it British slang? She was trying too hard with these characters.
The overall flow of the narrative was jumpy. It was hard to keep track of who was saying what in conversations. Also, what 30 year old woman says "lady parts?!"

Take a pass. There are better books in this genre.

I was hoping this book would be fantastic. It was good but not as enjoyable as I was expecting. It is the first time I have read this author and am willing to try her again.

Unfortunately, I found this to be a very painful read. The premise was promising in a charming and fun way, but the story fell way short of my expectations. There were too many characters, and the dialogue was so disjointed that I had trouble determining who said what. I also had a hard time maintaining interest - the story really dragged at times.
