"The First Date" by Zara Stoneley is a contemporary romance that unfolds with a mix of humor and heart, offering a light and enjoyable read. Stoneley's writing style is breezy, making it easy for readers to connect with the characters and the whimsical setting of the story. The plot, centered around a protagonist's quest for love through a series of first dates, carries a predictable yet comforting charm. While the characters are endearing, the overall narrative lacks a deeper exploration of their personalities, leaving some elements feeling a bit one-dimensional. Despite its predictability, "The First Date" is a sweet and entertaining novel, perfect for those seeking a feel-good romance with a touch of humor.

I’ve read quite a few of Zara’s books and enjoyed them. I liked the underlying storyline of this book. Rosie and Noah’s characters were fun to read and I loved Bea. It got a little repetitive reading about Rosie’s Dad and I did skim read these sections a little. I overall enjoyed the book and expected the ending. I would recommend this book and I look forward to Zara’s next one.
An entertaining uplifting rom com.
This is a very humorous read which is light hearted and lots of fun.
A well written book
Enjoy this author’s writing style. A beautiful piece of writing. A wonderful story. I just adore this story of love.
Thank you to both NetGalley & publishers for gifting me this book
I have read up to 30% of this book but then it just kept throwing me off it and wouldn’t go any further. Other books are fine on my kindle.
So I will review what I have read so far and it is such a lovely story. The author has a real knack of writing and puts so much detail into things. I loved the main character and will buy it on my kindle in the future
I absolutely adored this book. It had a bit of a slow start but once it picked it up it was a sweet, quick read that left a smile on my face.
Cute, funny, uplifting, and sweet. I love the idea of a chance meeting in a disastrous dating situation., as well as ending up with someone you didn’t predict. The characters were realistic and engaging. A fun read.
I've decided not to read The First Date as I've dnf all of the authors other books :(
I just don't think this authors writing style suits me unfortunately.
I had to DNF this book as I couldn't get into the story at all or connect with the characters. A real shame but this book was just not for me.
Thank you to the publisher for my eARC copy of this book. Unfortunately I didn’t love this book and therefore didn’t finish, I just didn’t connect with this one. Not for me, sorry.
This was a brilliant read and is being featured on my blog for my quick star reviews feature, which I have created on my blog so I can catch up with all the books I have read and therefore review.

What can I say. I liked this book. Must read. Do it. If you do anything else. Read this book today. Great read and enjoyable.
Rosie and (the newly single girl that's terrible at dating) and Noah (the handsome dating coach that takes it upon himself to help her become a master seductress) are both a little broken from their past, which makes them a little hesitant about relationships in general, but they find each other in this strange, convoluted situation . We are taken on their "first date", coaching, friendship journey, which includes cute banter and a lot of wit that made me giggle throughout the story. The tension builds with the "will they or won't they" standard which definitely entertained. It started a bit slow, but picked up as I enjoyed the way they interacted. A cute, quick read!
Thanks to Zara Stoneley, One More Chapter and NetGalley for the ARC. 3.5 stars.
A well paced love story with relatable characters, situations and story. Loved that there was a slow burn with no insta-love. Easy relaxing read.
I knew that I was going to enjoy this book after reading the first line above. The First Date is a hilarious romantic read with plenty of British banter and giggles throughout. I enjoyed reading the characters that were created by Zara Stoneley. Happy reading!
I received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.
Didn't review in time for release, premise sounds really good will be picking up a physical copy and come back to review soon.
This book was so entertaining. I was drawn into the story from the beginning and was involved until the end. The characters were complex and interesting. I found the story to be well paced and engrossing throughout the whole book. I was invested in the couple throughout the book and felt all the emotions through both the highs and lows of the story. The side characters were such an integral part of this story as well. This is the love story i needed to read at this time. If you want an entertaining and well written book this is it for you
This was a really sweet romance, and it was FUNNY! I laughed out loud throughout. After Rosie is stood up on a blind date, Noah steps in to help her learn his dating tips and tricks that will definitely help her find true love...but then of course, throughout their matchmaking lessons, it turns out that the two of them might just be perfect together. I haven't read any others from this author but I'm going to check out more from her after enjoying this one.
Absolutely adored this book

I’m never disappointed with a Zara Stoneley book and this one is most definitely one of my favourites. Noah! I loved him from the very first time we meet him. I really enjoyed the story, with relatable characters, this book was really easy to fall into. Alright so a little predictable by that never bothers me. This has to be one of my favourite reads of 2020.
