Those who are on the Ninja Foodie Grill bandwagon will appreciate Kenzie Swanhart and her cookbook, The Official Ninja Foodi Grill Cookbook for Beginners: 75 Recipes for Indoor Grilling and Air Frying Perfection. The cookbook is full of quick and easy recipes that most of us would actually want to make.
The recipes included have minimal ingredients, which make it possible to put meals together quickly. There are quick breakfasts, such as a Grilled Pizza with Eggs and Greens, and Sausage Mixed Grill, as well as Appetizers and Snacks – Fried Pickles, Crispy Rosemary Potatoes, Grilled Heirloom Tomato BLT, and Crispy Hand-Cut French Fries. The Vegetarian section has recipes that even non-vegetarians will appreciate, including a Veggie Lover’s Grilled Pizza, and Cheesy Broccoli Calzones. Other sections have plenty of variety – Fish and Seafood (Crab Cakes with Cajun Aioli are yummy), Poultry (Breaded Chicken Piccata and Greek Chicken and Veggie Kebabs) , and Beef, Pork, and Lamb which includes an excellent recipe for Beef Bulgogi. Swanhart hasn’t forgotten desserts, and there are a few that are quick and easy.
The recipes are well-written and easy-to-follow. Most call for common ingredients that are already on pantry shelves or in the fridge or freezer. Others are available at most larger grocery stores. Even though the Food Grill comes with a recipe book with a few ideas, this is one of those cookbooks that has enough recipes to keep cooks cooking new recipes for weeks. Unfortunately there are only a few photographs which are beautiful, but most of us want to see what every recipe looks like, and that isn’t possible here unless one makes all of the recipes and photographs them.
Every recipe so far has turned out perfectly, and this book is highly recommended.
Special thanks to NetGalley for supplying a review copy of this book.
I did like this book because it had fee easy meat recipes. I don't have a Ninja Foodi, but I used these in my portable grill. They turn out fine.
Next time I am going to practice more recipes from this recipe book on a Ninja one!
I received a Ninja cooker for my birthday but was a little apprehensive of the machine and it's methods. What a surprise I had when I followed many of the recipes in this book and discovered the reason so many people love this machine! If you are planning on buying a Ninja cooker, or have received one but not fallen completely in love with it....buy this book. You will not be sorry!
A good addition to any cooking library. This has some great ideas for meals that can be done on the new Ninja Foodi grill, and some you can adapt to other cooking methods. A simple straightforward approach that is easy to follow
I ♥ kitchen gadgets, and I've been really eyeing the Ninja Foodi since it came out because of the roasting/air frying thing, but I ultimately decided it wasn't worth getting. (Especially when I love my Instapot and have an Air Fryer I've thus far been too afraid to touch.)
Then, then the freaking Ninja Foodi Grill ads started to show and this cookbook and showed up on Netgalley, and if I'm going just off this cookbook?
It's going on my Christmas list.
It will probably remain there until the price goes down, but still! It's there! With hopeful stars.
So, the cookbook itself:
✓s: The recipes actually sounded amazing (even to me and my pickiness), recipes were helpfully tagged GF/DF/NF/under 30 minutes/&etc., the instructions did sound comprehensive even to someone who's never touched a Foodi Grill, nutritional information, helpful food swaps and hacks included as tips, and a good picture-to-recipe ratio,
✘s: More pictures would be nice? (That's always my complaint.)
tl;dr: How dare you make me desperately want another moderately expensive kitchen appliance. (But it grills! And I could cook so many delicious things, as this book demonstrates!*) Curse you, cookbook.
*This review could, of course, change if I get the Foodi, try the recipes, and they're terrible. But they seem legit.
Disclaimer: Thanks to Netgalley & the publisher for the free ARC, with no incentive or coercion on your parts, expect the part where it convinced me I now need to buy a Ninja Foodi Grill. Well played, Ninja. Well played.
