The book has Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia strategies for use by anyone who has trouble sleeping. The first recommendation is to track things through a specific sleep diary template, and then guides you through figuring out which of three triggers is causing persistent sleep issues. There are 75 strategies to improve sleep, and a chart breaks down which are most helpful for your main trigger. Each strategy is explained on a few pages, with info on why ot works followed by how to do it. The book ends with a list of additional resources.
This is an easily accessible and understandable guide for people experiencing sleep issues, with many good suggestions that may help bring relief.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you for the opportunity to review The Book of Sleep by Dr. Nicole Moshfegh. I am interested in sleep and have taught an undergraduate level course on the topic. Perhaps because I have read so much on sleep already, I was not the best audience for this work. Not much new here, at least based on my knowledge base. It's approachable enough, and certainly does have tidbits that folks might find helpful. Not a bad work, not by a long stretch. Just not anything I'll add to my classroom assignments.

There are a lot of good suggests in this book. Most I had heard before but there were a few that were new. I'm looking forward to trying them out.
