God this was awful. I enjoy Harlan Coben. I really do. I've read all of his books, but this one gave me a massive headache from the amount of eye rolling I did. A guy that grew up in the woods named, wait for it...Wilde. But don't worry, he taught himself English and even how to read from breaking into people's houses and watching television. And don't get me started on the lamest "mystery " ever. Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the advanced copy, I think.

Thanks to NetGalley for letting me review this book. It was hard to put this book down. It had lots of twists and turns. He waited till the very end of the book to tie it all up. I did like the ending

I always love Harlan Cohen's work, And this was no exception. The ending blew me away! More Wilde and Hester, please. Hester may be one of my favorite characters ever.

A master of suspense and easter eggs in his stand alone books, this is an author that I never ever miss. He doesn't fail to bring you exactly what he is known for. A well thought out story with characters that have so much depth and short chapters that make the book feel so fast paced that you don't even realize you are almost at the end.
Hester and WIlde are back again and this time we get to delve a little more into both their lives. The ending was one that left me happy and ready to find out where else these characters stories will take us. Hester's grandson Matthew is worried about a missing classmate and enlists his grandmother who enlists Wilde to find her. Along the way another teen goes missing and things get more dicey as we realize some of this isn't just about the kids, but about adults and their seedy political pasts. Jump in and get ready to follow the unraveling of the mystery and fall more in love with feisty Hester and mysterious WIlde.
I have yet to read a book by Harlan that is less than five stars and this one goes right along with the rest. I sincerely hope that there will be another book with these two characters to wet my thirst of where their lives will take them.

I hadn't ever read a Harlan Coben book, but it sounded interesting so I gave it a try. Very good writing and good character development. Lots of action scenes that kept the pages turning. The ending was quite surprising. I didn't piece it together. I also enjoyed the look into the lives and lifestyles of people with a lot of money. I really liked the character Hester, she is true blue, and the real deal. I hope to see her in future stories. I also hope to learn more of Wilde's back story of being abandoned as a small child in the woods, and surviving on his own. Definitely recommend:)

Harlan Coben once again comes through with a great mystery and a cast of great characters. He waits to the last page to wrap up everything but it’s well worth the wait. Kudos Harlan for another great read!!

Top writer Harlan Coben has created fully developed dynamic characters who take the reader through a snappy mystery. While teenagers are at the center of the novel this is a full blown mystery and not a boring coming of age story. Wilde is a complex character and he leads the charge to find missing teens. The twists are believable and fast. As you fly through the book you empathize with the bullied,, privileged and abused while rooting for justice.

I loved reading Harlan COben's latest novel The Boy From the Woods. This book has everything important in it.An excellant plot, characters from his past books, a mystery and a love story. I started it this morning and was so involved that I just had to finish it The end was so touching but made a lt of sense. I do hope to read more .stories featuring Hester and hopefully Wilde.

Harlan Coben's newest book is full of snappy banter, likable oddball characters, and a twisty multithreaded mystery. The story is a definite entertaining and page-turning read. I did feel like I was dropped into the middle of the story with Wilde, the boy from the woods. I wasn't sure if Wilde is a recurring character in another of Coben's book or if the writing was supposed to leave me a bit off balanced trying to figure out Wilde. I do wish Coben would have developed the storyline of Wilde's childhood...or we will see more of Wilde in future books?

Simply wonderful! I enjoyed this book from start to finish. I am a big Coben fan so this perfect book was a real treat for me. It’s really Coben at his best. Those of us who know his writing will enjoy bringing us up to date on some of his prior characters.
This book is about Wilde, the young boy who was plucked from a life in the wooded mountains of New Jersey, with no identifiable home or family. Now in his 30s he becomes involved in a case which has strong political overtones, trying to locate 2 missing children. He works with family friend, Hester Crimstein, the mother of his oldest friend, a renowned criminal defense attorney.
The book moves quickly and Coben uses every word to propel the story. It’s great!
Thanks Netgalley for this terrific read.

So entertaining as always, with that Coben flair for twists and turns. The novel is totally entertaining and I hope Wilde comes back in a future installment with Hester and the gang.

This is one of Harlan Cohen's books. The Boy from the Woods has multiple story lines that come together for a great thriller. I hope to read more adventures with Wilde.

Another fantastic book by Harlan Coben, one of my all time favorite authors. This book was fast paced and a great read. Coben succeeds again! I enjoyed the returning characters (Hester) as well as a new character, (Wilde) but was a bit disappointed we did not hear more about his family situation. Does this cliffhanger mean a dsequel could be in the works? I hope so. Thank you for the advanced copy. This is a book I will definitely be recommending!

A teenager is ruthlessly bullied and then disappears, a character that was found living in the woods who has no memory of his early life, powerful politicians. What a great cast of characters. This book will keep you turning the pages to see what happens next. There is a twist at the end that caught me completely by surprise. Coben has hit it out of the park on this one. Thank you to net galley for an advanced readers copy.

I was given this book by NetGalley for an honest review -
Coben never disappoints and once again he writes a winner -
Naomi is bullied at school and then she disappears.
Nathan has always sat and watched the bullied and felt bad - and so he asks Hester to help find Naomi -
Wildie who was raised in the woods is asked by Hester to help in the hunt for Naomi - but then - another disappears -
Is it the challenge game or is something worse going on?

Full review to be published online in late March.
I can't think of a better way to spend the day than to read an entire Harlan Coben book...and that's just what I did with THE BOY FROM THE WOODS. My attention never wavered from a plot that kept me riveted with question after question about characters and events. I loved Hester Crimstein and her one liners (even the way she answered her phone..."articulate"). Wilde is a fascinating character with his mysterious past and his history with Hestor's family. So many surprises along the way and a great ending (that made me wonder if we will see these characters again). Coben consistently writes great mystery/thriller.
Standalone thriller. Recommended.

As with every single prior Harlan Coben novel, I am in love with these characters, this book and I can't believe I have to wait a year for a new book!
The Boy in the Woods features a connection to one of my favorite Coben recurring characters, the esteemed Hester Crimstein, but this time, Hester is one of the stars of the show (we do get an "articulate" reference as well) - including these easter eggs to past books or characters is one of my favorite things about reading Coben - it's like an inside joke with these characters who have been in my life for so many years.
The book itself - a missing teenager, an unstable political personality and somewhere in the middle, there's Wilde, the man who was rescued raising himself in the woods as a small child (and befriended by Crimstein's late son). Wilde is one of the most interesting protagonists Coben has created to date and if you've read Coben's work previously, you know that that is really saying something. This story had me guessing from page to page and loving as it all came together. Kudos, Mr. Coben on another FIVE star read! I can't wait for March 2020 til the rest of the world gets to experience the magic of this book!
