The writing style in this book was so clunky it was difficult to engage with. I also didn't enjoy reading about the main character. This book wasn't for me unfortunately.

I just couldn't get in to this story at all. I struggled through for a while but I had to give up. The writing was good but I didn't connect with the characters or the story. I'd definitely read another by Anna Premoli, but this one wasn't for me.

I ended up DNFing this one. I did not connect to the writing. I am not sure if it was the translation so I will likely try something else by this author to see if I enjoy it more.

I am going to be honest, I think this book was lost in translation. It was very choppy and the wording was off for me. I could not get into it at all. It was a DNF for me.

Overall, there are some elements that I really enjoyed but it wasn't spectacular. There were some things that I just couldn't really connect with. Sometimes the MC annoyed me a bit and it often felt like it all just progressed a bit too slowly.

I'd still say that it's a good pick that I'd recommend if you like RomCom in general, and just want to get aquianted with a new to you author, like it was for me.

Having read other books by this author I was expecting a lighthearted romcom, this felt like a forced story. I was actually sorry for the male MC that the female MC was such an unlikeable character.

I have been wanting to read Anna Premoli books for a while, but it's hard to buy a physical copy here in Canada. After finishing Mad About You, I realize I should have tried harder to locate a physical copy of Anna's books -- I loved this book.

The writing was clever and well paced. The romance int the story was a wonderful blend of humour and heat. I loved reading a book set in Italy by an Italian author. It definitely inspired a bit of wanderlust.

Really enjoyed this book thank you. Vibrant, believable, characters and an absorbing plot. I will ensure I look out for this author in the future!

It is hard to let go of a book written by Anna Premoli. Undoubtedly, she is one of my favourite romance authors and this humorous and enlightening story has just confirmed my trust in her. Set in Milan, we get to see a hate-to-love story -- well, it might be one-sided -- and as always the humour and the funny banter between our couple bear Premoli's trademark style.
Giada and Ariberto meet first at a bar and Giada hates him at the very first sight. Reason: a boyfriend like him will be surely approved by her mother and she cannot let that happen. Yup, we have got a weird heroine (or should I say she is nuts?) who hasn't outgrown her teenage tantrums. I do have my own quirks, so no judging her in this aspect. Who is perfect anyway? . . . except for Ariberto. He should be recommended for sainthood; really guys, I don't think this man is real.
One of the disadvantages of the first-person narrative is that it is hard to make a fair judgement. Ariberto could be a possessive man, but through the love hazed narrative, it is difficult to ascertain. But the patience and stubbornness he has shown in wooing the lady is nothing but remarkable. I know he is too good to be true, but can't help but wish him to be real.
If you are looking for a sweet rom-com for the weekend, then search no further. This will surely fill your day with laughter and may lengthen you life span for a good measure too. Happy reading!

Mad About You is not Anna Premoli's "regular" rom- com, it is more young adult book. I like all Anna's books and like this one too.
It's about Giada and Ariberto both of them are students. They meet each other in one bar and Giada hates him on first sight. She wants to be left alone that night, because guys like him, hot and arrogant, bring trouble.
Giada is strong very determined girl she has boyfriend and wish to get internship in one of the biggest firm in Milan.
Ariberto is alfa male but can' pass by Giada, she is stronger. Both of them became interns in the biggest consulting firm in Milan.
This book is interesting I enjoy reading it, my only complaint is about the age of the main characters.

Mentioned at the end of the story the author speaks of the story ‘coming to her and demanding to be written.” On the whole, the characters of Giada and Ariberto were cleverly drawn with plenty to like (or dislike about them both. Honestly, the premise for this book had me interested, and I was intrigued and engaged for the first third of the book.

The pacing was slower than one would expect from this enemies to lovers story, and I didn’t feel that the dialogue popped enough. As for them being complete opposites? Well – they were. Ariberto was almost too good to be true: handsome, rich, polite and a truly nice guy -with an irrepressible interest in Giada. She’s far from the ‘delicate flower” who worked hard to get what she wanted: she’s brash, often rude and more negative than he deserved (or should hope for). Sure, working to a goal and achieving it is something to be proud of, but her mannerisms and her low-level snobbery was off-putting and had me less interested in her getting her ‘everything’ than his future.

A bit disjointed in the middle of the book, the end wrapped up neatly without really tying up the loose ends or really addressing the issues, and while it was a low-angst, non-committal sort of read, the story was simply there and not particularly memorable after turning the last page. I suppose fans of this author will enjoy this book, and I know others loved it – all proving that different stories strike chords with different readers and not everyone is on the same song book.

A real, fast-paced, frenemies to lovers romance.
Giada and Ariberto are strong characters that you fall in love with.
I recommend this book.

Giada is nearing the end of her studies at university and preparing to start an internship. She goes out one night to a nightclub and meet Ariberto and they share a kiss. Giada actually has a boyfriend of many years but they live in separate cities and they barely see each other and it seems the relationship is mostly in name only. Giada sees the kiss as a one-off and doesn't expect to see Ariberto again.

But it turns out they both have internships at the same company and so she's going to have to navigate carefully. Ariberto is quite interested in her but she doesn't want to involve herself with him in any way because he's not part of her long-term plan which is she is carefully trying to work on. The story is about their relationship and how it evolves over time.

This started off well enough but I found it dragged quite a bit in the middle and I lost a bit of interest in reading further for a while. I did finally get through it but I can't say it was a very satisfying read. Giada is rather annoying at times and I couldn't really feel that sympathetic. Ariberto was a great character and almost too good to be true. but I really liked him. I think he's the main reason I was able to get to the end.

Overall it wasn't bad but just not all that great either so I give this 2.5 stars.

This was just a great, easy read. It is exactly what you would expect out of a romantic read - perfect to read on the beach or in between more heavy books.

It’s funny how, the moment you see a certain author’s name, you just assume you know what their book’s going to be like. And, in the case of Anna Premoli? I usually equate that “what” with “good”. But was that the case as well for Mad About You?

The story
Giada Borghi has always known exactly what she wants. Graduating with honours? Check. An internship at a prestigious consulting company in Milan? Check! Ariberto Castelli, with his pretty face and unironically monogrammed shirts? Definitely not.

Sure, they may have shared a kiss in a nightclub once upon a time – that doesn’t change anything! Boys like Ariberto and girls like Giada just don’t belong together. But working so closely with a handsome Italian is bound to turn any girl’s head, especially as she realises there’s more to Ariberto than meets the eye.

The summer days are long and hot… can Giada make it through with her head – and heart – intact?

The opinion
Anna Premoli mentions herself, at the end of Mad About You, that this story came to her differently than it would usually. It just sort of “popped up” and “demanded to be written”, so to say. This may just be me, but I do feel as if that came through more than the author maybe intended to.

That’s to say – as a rule, I expect an Anna Premoli-book to have witty conversation and to be rather high-paced. Compared to those expectations, Mad About You seemed more like a leisurely walk in the park than the usual roller coaster.

Of course, that’s not a bad thing – rather the opposite, this book makes for a perfect quick read, as well as a glorious piece of escapism, if you require that. Just keep in mind that, compared to, for example, Accidentally in Love and especially What’s Love Got To Do With It, Mad About You really is a different kind of book.

As I mentioned before, this is certainly an enjoyable read. It’s just that I went in expecting full Anna Premoli-greatness, and in that aspect? Mad About You just didn’t quite live up to my high hopes…

I put this down, I didn't like it. It felt juvenile and worse than a Young Adult book. I've seen people on Instagram that love this and apparently I'm missing something here.

One of the things that always gets me about an Anna Premoli book is how true the saying "never judge a book by its cover" actually is. The cover is always enough to make me forget how intelligent Premoli's writing is and how well she writes, not only her characters, but also the relationships and connections between them. I would definitely recommend to anyone not sure whether to read this or not! 4.5 stars

There were definitely things I enjoyed about this book. I liked the setting being in Italy and the details provided made me feel like I was visiting there. Giada is a perfectionist with a detailed plan and timeline. She finds herself kissing Ariberto, a guy she would NEVER end up with, at a nightclub. Putting him off as a "one and done" she then finds herself working with him and becoming work enemies. She has many reasons why things would never work with him but will her heart listen to her head? I think from here you can figure out where the story ends up.

I really liked Ariberto and thought he was a funny, charming male lead character. Giada is the one that annoyed me. She was immature and her sass and reasoning for things just turned me away. I struggled finishing this book because it was easy to put down.
