Super cute and easy to enjoy. This is the book you want for a pool side read or beach vacation. It’s easy to enjoy the story and a few parts are laugh out loud funny.

I loved the second half of this book, but the first part felt like pulling teeth.

Immediately after the prologue, we’re thrust into a fæashback several chapters long, which tells everything g about how the characters first met. And I don’t know what bothered me most: the fact that it was a basic info dump to give their “new” conflict a basis, but also perhaps accidentally just taking away all of the tension? Or the fact that both of the characters were such charicatures that it made me cringe?

I really felt like I read two different books in one, because the first half was poorly written with cringy dialogue and flat characters, but the second half had all the plot, the character development and just /felt/differently written.

So I’m giving it a completely middle of the road rating. Because in the end, the book as a whole was middle of the road entertaining, but I think it’ll be forgettable too.

Right off the bat, I wasn't a big fan of Heaven. I found her attitude and internal dialogue to be a bit too annoying, I couldn't connect with her, and, as a result, couldn't connect story, and I also felt the plot was a tad far-fetched. I do think if the story was told in first-person, I would have had an easier time connecting with it.

The novel follows the adventures of Heaven and David as they meet, go on separate ways and then re-meet again four years later.

The book is fun and entertaining with some hilarious moments. I enjoyed reading the mishaps and interactions between David and Heaven. The pace was really good, it didn't feel too slow or rushed - the perfect pace. I appreciated the character development, we watched both David and Heaven grow throughout the novel. The dialogue was sharp and funny.

If you love reading about meet-cutes, romances with a summer vibe to them - you'll enjoy this one. It has everything you'd live - sunshine and a good love story.

There was one single moment in the book where I'd prefer the author to re-think the scene and re-write it as it's a bit questionable when it comes to consent. Other than this particular scene (which I really think it's important to be removed), the book was light-hearted, fun and sweet.

Maybe this is me and not the book, but I really didn't like the writingstyle. It was just not my cup of tea. This book had a lot of potential and I don't think that it was executed that well unfortunately. The romance was kind of sweet though.

Honestly, I thought the plot of this story is like the usual romance thing.

I was surprised that I actually like it because of David. He is probably my favorite Love Interest at the moment. Everything that he said and expressed how much he loves Heaven was purely romantic and perfection. I hope somewhere in the world, a David Cooper really exists! I would love to be stuck also on an island with him!

I'm glad that Heaven finally knows where her heart and passion truly should be.

This was written well but just wasn't for me. I didn't connect to the characters at all and found that not all the plotlines worked as well as they could have done.

this book fell into the case of being too juvenile for me. after reading so many romances I have found this to be true recently.

While this book had a lot going on troupe wise, I really enjoyed it. There is a lot of miscommunication and misunderstanding that leads to quite a bit of angst between the characters. Both Heaven and David have a lot of baggage and they let their pride come between the two of them the first time around. When they meet up years later they end up stranded on a deserted island where their obvious sexual tension and chemistry wins. While they try to find a way to make things work once they're rescued you get to meet a few great secondary character that I hope we get to see later on. This one is a tad predictable, but still that classic romcom I've come to love. If you enjoy a quick, but cute romcom you should definitely pick this one up!

There was a lot going on in this story that made it hard to follow at times. Some of the circumstances were a bit odd. The romance was cute. Would recommend for someone looking for a romance a little out of the ordinary.

This book was a little confusing to me in the sense that there was just too much going on. I enjoyed the romance, but there were so many aspects to the storyline that I don’t think needed to be there.

From L.A. with Love was very weird about a virgin preacher's daughter and a guy that left at the altar. Heaven and David end up at the same bar one night; they go together, she loses her virginity, an awkward morning after, and then four years later they reencounter each other. Heaven is trying to be independent, and David has warned off women trying to find his artistic vibes again. After a terrible storm, Heaven and David find themselves stranded on an island rediscovering their feelings from that one nightstand. Now, this may sound like an entertaining story with the potential to be amazing, and I thought the same thing but was sadly disappointed. The only thing that saved this story from a low 2-star rating was the swoon-worthy aspects of the epilogue.

This was an okay read. While I didn’t necessarily dislike it, I felt like it had a bit too much going on to be the si,ole, lighthearted romance I was interested in picking up. Not bad, not great. Just not my total cup of tea.

From L. A. With Love by Cassie Rocca is a very cute Rom-Com that I really enjoyed. Heaven wants to become a journalist, but in order to get her big break she is working as a paparazzi. Heaven just snapped the picture that will make her career, when she falls off cliff into the ocean during a storm. Close to drowning she is saved by David Cooper, the man who took her virginity four years earlier on a bet. Heaven and David are stranded until the storm is over and they can be found. What a fun book, I will be reading more by this author. I highly recommend this book.

This is your typical sweet romance books, but I didn't like it as much as I hoped I would. It started out nicely, but I also felt like a lot was going on too. I wasn't able to make a connection with any of the characters, and that usually can make or break a book for me.

I didn't really care for this book, but by all means, it wasn't a terrible book. The love story between Heaven and David is incredibly predictable. At times it can be irritating and at other times it's quite charming. It just isn't consistent. To me, the characters aren't overly likeable at times. If you like the characters, you'll love the book. I do actually recommend this book to rom-com lovers.

Her head filled with a howling , rushing wind that made it impossible to think. Or process what was going on. Her stepfather had gone to get bash. Her mother had lured her home from college under false pretenses. She’d offered Ember a home cooked meal and she had something to tell her. Although she’d delayed it for a long time apparently today was the day of reckoning . How could How could anyone be ready for the love of their life to walk through the door. And after three and a half years of absolute radio silence. Not a text, not an email, not a like on an insta post. Nothing. Maybe seeing Bash would be good for her. It would be the closure she’d never gotten. She’d see him, say hello, and suffer through dinner with him, than move on with her life. Than she heard men voices. Her heart dropped to the floor . How was she going to do this ? She wasn’t strong enough>Yes you are, a voice inside Ember said. You believed in the tooth fairy for the first nine years of your life. You can believe in yourself for the next two hours.” Than she came down the stairs and he walked toward her and great butterflies formed in her stomach. Her heart felt like she had strolled into a time machine warped back to her seventeen year old self, who loved Bash enthusiastically and wholeheartedly. A girl who couldn't imagine heartache waiting for her. He said “ Hi Ember” , she couldn’t help but close her eyes, just for a second. His voice. How had she forgotten how much she loved the deep timbre of his voice? She had all those feelings again. When he’d run away because he’d been so repulsed by her or by the idea of having a relationship with her, she had decided bash was not the holder of her confidence and self worth. That she was totally fine without him. Now all those things were being exposed for the lies that they so obviously been. All her defenses were being stripped away and all he had said was hi. She ran up to her room but than Bash knocked on the door and she knew she had to listen to what he had to say. His dad was married to her mom and they would see each other on special occasions. He asked if she remembered the last time they’d been in her room. She would never forget . He said there’s something I want to get off his chest.She hissed at her heart to be quiet. “What” He said” I’m sure you hate ne after what happened. I shouldn’t have just left like that, without any explanation.” Ember told Bash she had never hated him. Maybe what she blamed him for not being there when she needed him most. She needed him to go away. Go back to Pennsylvania and out of her life. She felt the old electrical surge spark between them. She had hoped when they seen each other again, she’d be immune enough to him. Not so much. Dash though of how #Ember had been the one he was afraid to see. The one way Bash had tried to move on from Ember was cold turkey. He had suffered some emotional and mental withdrawals that had lead to several bad decisions- smoking pot. He’d done it successfully sworn her off until he seen her again. When he saw Ember at the stairs he was stunned. He still wanted her with a fierceness that shocked him. Than at dinner Ember found out Bash was going to college at EOL where she went. She played volleyball, he would be playing football. Both times he tried to fix things between them he’d somehow made it worse. Six months later-0Staying away from Bash turned out to be easier than Ember expected it to be.
I loved this story and didn’t want to put it down. It was an easy fun read with a lot of emotional moments. I loved Bash and Ember together. My heart broke for all the misunderstanding and pain Bash and Ember had suffered. This was a beautiful second chance romance. I loved the ending- it was great! I loved the pace and plot. I loved how close Ember was to her family and bash to his. Just an all around good book. But it also showed the effects alcoholism and a serious illness can affect a family. The author put this in the story so beautifully . I loved it. I loved the characters and the ins and ots of this book and I highly recommend it.

This is the sort of rom-com that can be occasionally irritating and at other times quite engaging. Heaven and David had a one night stand and went their separate ways until she falls overboard and he pulls her out of the water. You know that they're going to get together so how much you enjoy this depends on how you feel about the characters- these two aren't particularly sympathetic. Thanks to net galley for the ARC. I've liked Rocca's earlier novels but this one wasn't as much fun.

A story about Heaven Taylor, who moved to LA to find a good job in journalism but is struggling to keep her job in a gossip magazine. When trying the get the latest news about a model, she ignores the weather and goes into the sea and the weather goes bad. Then enters David, a guy she met months ago but they are not talking to each other now. David calls her to her boat and saves her, and we flashback to when they met each other and the story of their past. This was a light read and very simple writing. If you want to start getting into YA fiction, this can be one of the first books you can start your reading with.
