A very curious read and one that I absolutely fell into by chance! The blurb was interesting and I had to see what this story was about! Yes there’s a lot going on and at times I wanted to slap both the female and male character but in the end it all comes together and I really hope to see more of some of the secondary characters but more on that later!

David and Heaven met under some very shady circumstances but I love that the interactions aren’t one sided! You get understanding for why the other acts as they do and to be honest I completely get it! I see both sides and it’s like that with every action in the book! You see David’s side you see Heavens! As the book went on I came to love them both for their different qualities; david is protective and at the same time guarded because he doesn’t want to be hurt again! He loves fiercely and he knows it so when he gives his heart he wants it to be forever! Heaven just wants to have a voice! She wants to be heard, valued and understood! She wants to be someone’s priority for once! Their relationship is tumultuous at times but it’s nothing out of the norm of reality! We all have some crazy times and I feel the author did a great job highlighting the issues and showing her characters grow!

I love how the “villain” in the story is redeemed and I hope to get her story one day!

Thank you Netgalley for my arc in exchange for my honest review!

From LA. with Love by Cassie Rocca is a fun beach read! Easy to read and fun plot that goes by quickly. Fun little romance.

Completely cheesy but the perfect romcom for me. Lighthearted, sweet and funny.
I read this book in just a day as it was so easy to read. There are only really two characters in the book with some minor supporting roles so there isn’t much to get your head around and the romance is sweet almost innocent.

Thank you to Aria for the opportunity of reviewing this title.

I had a bit of a conflict here as the narrative started ok, but the third person narration sometimes gets confusing. Don't get me wrong: the setting is excellent and Im pretty sure the author had a great concept at first, but I think the whole plot was 'too busy', for lack of better words. I struggled to find that instant connection you should have with the main characters at least, and I just couldn't. Heaven had so much potential to be the best character, but there were moments when I personally feel she fell very short. Some moments she seemed so secure, some she wasn't, and that confused me even more. David was also a very interesting character, I just feel he could have reached higher standards.

In all it wasn't a bad story, but I don't feel I can give it more than 2.5 /5.

This was an irritating romance. The plot was unbelievable. We have a couple who come upon each other in a storm after one night together four years ago that ended with the lady being humiliated by finding out that the guy had started out talking to her on a bet that he couldn’t get her into bed. He was her first and it was for a bet. No matter how nice the guy seems to be, that is still pretty rough. Now, four years later, they get stranded on a deserted island off the coast of California. How convenient.

And add in that she’s about to lose her job as a member of the paparazzi trying to get a photo of a hot model and her mystery lover. By great coincidence, that model is the hero’s ex. There follow a whole bunch of unbelievable plot points before they find their HEA. It was hard to care about either main character.

The book could also have benefited from proofreading. There were numerable occasions where the pronouns didn’t match up to the person being referenced.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book that I received from Netgalley; however, the opinions are my own and I did not receive any compensation for my review.

A fun read.

Heaven and David met years ago and both ended up hurt. Now they meet again when he rescues her. Do they have a second chance?

‘From LA with Love’ is a novel with a lot of ideas… and some of them work better than others. Heaven and David spent a night together that ended in misunderstandings and hurt feelings. Four years later, he pulls her out of the ocean during a terrible storm, and they’re forced to confront each other and figure out how they really feel.

In my opinion, this book was a lot. Meaning that there were so many threads of ideas, tropes, etc. that the plot felt convoluted; however, it still somehow also felt oversimplified? The use of close third person perspective as a narration style proved to be super confusing to me, as the narrative in some places would shift between characters from one sentence to the other. Perhaps this is part of the reason why I didn’t ever feel a connection to either the heroine or the hero, so I didn’t feel invested in their romance.

I do feel that the author has some great ideas, and I think that if they were pared down and channeled into a more cohesive direction, a greater story would result. Sadly, this particular book just didn’t do it for me.

This was a kinda sweet romance, yet at the same time there was enough 'angst' to get you frustrated with the characters. He approached her as a bet, but after talking to her for a while he forgot all about that bet. She was a preacher's daughter who did everything to try to make her father proud, including marrying a man of his choosing, whom wasn't this man, but she was going to enjoy their time together none the less. The two were total opposites in pretty much every way, so of course they'd be drawn to one another. Unfortunately they both had baggage they were carrying that made it a bit difficult for the couple. Despite her nativity, she is quite smart when it comes to understanding people. He often underestimated her. There is lots of misunderstanding and miss communication... thus all the angst. Both characters had attributes that were endearing as well as irritating. Their story had lots of ups and downs. A few tears might have been shed. While there is sexual content, it isn't graphic and mostly just kinda fades to black. Safe for teens and up.

*I received an ARC of this book from Netgalley.

This book just wasn’t for me. I had a hard time connecting with the main characters and found them both to be extremely flat. Because of this I had a hard time with their love story. There are some things in a book that are hard to get over. One of those things is a bad character name and Heaven is a hard one to get over for me. David seem like a bit player so it made it hard for me to root for him especially since their meet cute was basically a bet. This story, especially how it was written, couldn’t captivate or keep my attention. The dialogue between the two characters was, at times, kind of cheesy. This book just wasn’t for me. It sounded interesting and had the potential to be a good romcom about second chances, but I was a bit disappointed

" The perfect scoop or the perfect man?.."
A very good question.
This is a beautiful story of second chance. And I have to thank Netgalley and Aria publishing for this ARC. I enjoyed every moment reading this wonderful, witty story about a young woman trying to make a name for herself in the cut-throat world of journalism and the man who broke her heart years ago.
This book started with a storm and our protagonist Heaven almost drowns in her attempt to photograph a famous model having an affair. But luckly she was saved when a man came to her rescue in a boat(just like a prince and fun fact he calls her "mermaid"*swoon*)but we later get to know that they had a past togather and a lot of misunderstanding between them. Its safe to say that their reunion was not a happy one. It was uncomfortable for both of them and their was residual anger too. But most of all they had unfinished business and when they were struck in an island in the middle of the storm . It gave them a lot of time to resolve their differences.

It was a nice book with a lot of engaging factors. I love the time they spend on the island. It played a major part in their developing relationship. These two had some serious chemistry. Inspite of the fact that their first meet was far from conventional, I loved the way these two grew into their relation as time passed.
Overall it was a good book with engaging dialogues and a crafty storytelling. Loved it and will sure recommend all rom-com fans to go for this one. Its not my first book by this author and certainly not gonna be my last. Except from some parts this story was an engaging read. If you are a fan of romantic sunsets and great characters its just the thing that you need to relax after a long day.
Hope ya all like it. Happy reading!

This amazing complex story outlines David and Heaven’s journey to HEA. The beginning of the book is slow with immature characters, but the story held my interest and it was a good read. The characters matured, except in my opinion, David.

I dislike David with a passion as a result of the way he treated Heaven. I believe it takes a person with Heaven’s sheltered upbringing to stick with him and his damaged soul and still show love. Is our gender generally that weak to “put up” with this treatment? Despite David's treatment of Heaven at times, the book includes some beautiful, awesome, well written scenes, especially when they on the remote island.

Kudo’s to the author for writing a good clean romance novel with strong emotions, damaged characters stumbling towards HEA. I strongly recommend!
