Danielle Steel does it again with a story of love, family, and identity. Eileen Jackson's world is torn apart upon discovering hey husband's affair. What comes next is where the real story begins.

Many thanks to NetGalley, the author, and the publisher for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an unbiased review.

I received an ARC copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion of it. Eileen found out that after many years of being married her husband was cheating on her with a much younger woman. I was really disappointed in this book because it really was just a typical romance book and I know that Danielle Steel can do so much better. It was really boring.

This was another great read by Danielle Steele. I spent a lovely afternoon escaping to this book. Life has changes for us, all along the journey and it is never to late for self introspection and to follow your dreams.
Many thanks to Ballantine Books and to NetGalley for providing me with a galley in exchange for my honest opinion.

Probably closer to 3.5 stars for me.

Overall, I liked this book. There were quite a few disconnects for me. In the beginning, I struggled to understand the core main characters. It starts out in great detail about Pennie and Tim, then shifts to Eileen and Paul, in a way that was really disjointed to me. It was a recoverable, but confusing beginning. Once I got going with things I generally enjoyed the book despite its predictability and "repetitive" storyline (as in, I've read this subject over and over again). The characters were decent (other than Paul being an ass, but again, predictable). I found Olivia's family to be a great diversion - her grandmother was simply a jewel of a character and breathed some life and interest into the book. Olivia was also an ass (again, predictable) and too much focus was put on her character for my taste. I enjoyed Pennie and her maturity about her circumstances and the changes in her family and life. This wasn't a barn burner, but it was a good "lose yourself for a few days" book.

Thank you NetGalley and Random House, Delacorte Press for the ARC provided.

Danielle Steel’s novel never failed me. Another great and different one from her other novels, I think she’s kind of changing her writing style which is more improving and beautiful as always. The way she put different stories to all the characters in here and putting up the pieces back all together is brilliant. And I love how Danielle Steel brings the power and energy of a woman, to pursue her dream, her future, so strong and convincing. Two characters that I like very much in here is Eileen and Penny, mother and daughter who almost has the same history, same kind of relationship but fate gives them better chance to continue their lives. They both been through ups and down together and as time goes by they both knew they’re making a perfect decision to continue their journey.

Memorable quote from this book : Don’t think. Just do it. That’s the best way to get things done - Gabrielle

There is nothing better than getting lost in a Danielle Steel novel and this one was a wonderful read! So many feelings were touched on in this story and it was both heartbreaking and heartwarming. No matter your age, change can be a wonderful thing! Highly recommend!

I will always be a fan of Danielle Steel novels. I adore her style of writing and I always think her characters are so well developed. This was a great story of a couple ,who maybe got married for the wrong reasons , and have settled into what has become a pretty boring life. As the husband reaches out to another woman, the wife finds her true joy in another path . One of my favorite things about Mrs. Steel's novels are the descriptions of where they take place, always makes me feel like I am there.

Another great story from Danielle Steel!
The story starts out with one couple, Eileen and Paul, and the ins and outs of everyday life with three children. When faced with the knowledge that Paul has been cheating on her, Eileen and Paul separate, and their lives become entwined with the new people that they meet. Through the ups and downs of their marriage, separation, and eventual divorce, Paul and Eileen come to realize that they can each have their happily ever after, it just won't be together. I loved the characters that Danielle Steel developed, their thoughts and emotions completely real and touching. As always, Danielle Steel created a plot with lots of sub stories that flows effortlessly from one to another leaving the reader with a heartfelt story of love, hope and forgiveness.

Age is just a number and Steel's characters reflect that adage. The Numbers Game keeps readers guessing while trying to piece together the puzzle. An unexpected pregnancy derailed Eileen and Paul Jackson plans. Despite a rocky beginning, they solidified their union and became respected members of the community. As the years roll by, history repeats itself and will their daughter, Penny's bright future be tarnished?

Throughout the novel, the family unit is tested and betrayed. As relationships fracture, new ones are formed. Vows are broken, dreams rekindled and Steel adds numbers to the game to stack the deck on the book's future.

Rating 3.5/5 stars

I used to devour Danielle Steel's books when I was much younger, so I downloaded this one in hopes of the same adoration. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. I found it lacking depth and terribly cliche. However, I will always give props to an author who has stood the test of time and been so successful with her books. I'm just no longer her right audience.

I loved how this novel tied together the threads of multiple people into one cohesive story. I really felt for everyone involved and was totally enthralled from start to finish.

Thia book was different from any Danielle Steel book I've ever read. The way she took four different storylines, put them together and made them all come together was so good. All of her books are good, but this was one of the better ones. It reminds you that age is just a number and you're never too old to do whatever you want to in life. I would reccomend this book very highly!

I wish to thank Net Galley and the publisher Delacorte Press and Random House Publishing Group for allowing me to read an advanced copy of this book. I have voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Many years ago I was a devoted Danielle Steel fan and read all her books but stopped about 10 years ago because of the sameness of them all. I decided I wanted to read this one and am really glad that I did.

Danielle has covered all the age groups and the troubles in each era that families encounter. The story gives hope to each one as you walk their path with them. I would strongly encourage readers to discover for themselves what I mean in the wonderful character developments she has shown in this particular book. The parts in Paris make you want to go there and see it all. What a great read for all ages 17 to 92 and beyond.

I am a fan again..

I enjoyed this one.

This was a nice, quick, happy story. The writing flows so easily and the characters are great (even the one or two that you would like to punch).

I didn’t think I would enjoy the story when the shift to Olivia’s family takes place but I actually enjoyed it almost more than Eileen’s story. I loved Olivia’s grandmother and her boyfriend (92 and 84 years of age and just awesome, fun characters).

Each character evolves, finding purpose and love along the way. It is not suspenseful or unpredictable in any way but it was a nice story that left me happy.

Thanks to NetGalley, the author and Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine for a copy in exchange for a review.

Marriage and life are complicated...especially when life pushes you to make choices you aren’t yet prepared to make. This book tells the beautiful story of Eileen Jackson, whose coming of age story happens at forty thanks to some unexpected life twists and her unfaithful husband, Paul.

Honestly, I could not put this book down. I was drawn to Eileen immediately and found myself rooting for her in every way. I loved that the main character was a middle aged, wife, and mom who is finally ready to live out her own dreams, while not looking back or regretting where life led her.

I received an ARC of The Numbers Games written by Danielle Steel. I used to read Ms. Steel's books as they were published and stopped more that 10 years ago. At that time I felt that most of the story lines felt as if thery were recycled. The Numbers Game was a pleasant surprise and I will be reading the author's books once again. The message from the book is that age is only a number and one can have a wonderful life at any stage of life. Change and personal growth can occur whether one is their 20"s, 30's , 40's or even 90's. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and highly recommend it! Thanks to NetGalley and Danielle Steel!

Another bestseller by Danielle Steele!!!!!!!!!!!!!! In my opinion most of her books are that we know everything's gonna work out great & the main characters are gonna end up happy cliche but Ms Steele writes her stories in ways that make you stick with the characters just to follow them on their journey to happiness. Ya know you don't get bored on the journey because you're so invested in them and the families. We have Elaine and Paul- a couple in their forties who are married w/three children. They got married because they were pregnant without their fist child back in the days when it was expected it them. A series of events make them realize that that's not the path they shld have taken in their lives. You don't always do what is expected of you if it doesn't make you happy. Thank you to Netgalley and Harlequin Books for my honest review.

The Numbers Game is an enjoyable, heartwarming, family drama by Danielle Steel. She hits it out of the park this time by illustrating four strong, ageless, diverse women and the lives they lead. The story follows the women through a year of change. Witness love lost and found. Sickness and health. New jobs and new life paths. The story goes to show that change can happen at any age. 4 stars.

As always, Danielle Steel hits it out of the park with the perfect tempo in a romance.

A husbands late night 'meetings' and absences in the family lead to the discovery of an affair that changes the lives of each family member. Approaching her fortieth birthday, Eileen Jackson is afraid she will never find love again, meanwhile her soon to be ex husband finds love in a woman young enough to be her own daughter.
