Such a fun time with the Bellandini sisters in this second installment that has charming characters, engaging plot, red herrings and keeps it interesting. Well done.

The sisters need to solve a thirty year old mystery that occurred around the time of their parents high school graduation. The typical angst of teenagers in high school is involved. A clever mystery that kept me guessing. The characters are unusual and varied in likeability. Thanks to the publisher for providing a copy via NetGalley.

I enjoyed this entry in the Southern B&B series, no sophomore slump here. Quinn and her sister, Delilah are still working with their grandfather running their B&B. If that isn't enough, Quinn is helping her boyfriend, Tucker, build a fire pit for his Aunt Lela, as a Christmas gift. In the process their world goes sideways big time. As they dig, the uncover the bones of a young woman who disappeared 33 years ago and the number one suspect turns out to be Aunt Lela. Tucker turns to Quinn and Delilah to clear his aunt and keep her out of prison. Turns out that it's not just Tucker's aunt in the hot seat, the girl's parents are drawn into the cold case and their investigation becomes more intense. Who, on the long list of suspects, killed the Homecoming queen?
More than just bones have been unearthed. A lot of well kept secrets come to light. In the course of investigating, several prominent families have the spotlight focused on them. It had me guessing to the very end. Lots of twists, turns and red herrings abound and I guessed wrong. As for the characters, they are certainly quirky and I enjoyed spending time with them. I'm looking forward to book #3.
My thanks to the publisher, Alibi and to NetGalley for giving me an advance copy in exchange for my honest review.

Always a pleasure to read a good cozy mystery, without the graphic sex & violence. A good story line with a few twists to keep you guessing about "who done it"

I also the setting in Savannah, could picture the squares and streets described.

Southern Harm, Caroline Fardig’s second entry in her B&B series set in Savannah, just about spun my head around with its huge cast of characters and suspects. The central character is Quinn Bellandini, and the book is told from her point of view. Her boyfriend, Tucker Hayward and sister Delilah, are also heavily featured. The thread of the book follows Quinn, Delilah and Tucker as they try to clear his aunt of a 33 year old murder charge, making for a huge cast of characters, as they endeavor to seemingly question half of Savannah in their efforts to clear first Aunt Lela then others of this ancient murder. I had a difficult time getting into the rhythm of the book at first but the action eventually took off.

This is a standalone book, but I feel like I would have enjoyed it more had I previously read the first book. This is especially true when it came to the main characters, their personalities and why they acted as they did. This was an okay read for me, three stars, but it probably would have been a four star read had I read the initial book in the series. I recommend readers do that as I know Caroline Fardig to be an entertaining writer and have read her entire Java Jive series.

I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I was not required to write a positive review and the opinions stated are solely my own.

The coziest of cozy mysteries. Southern charm. Quirky characters, sibling rivalry, and a killer plot. I'm still laughing at the visual of the dessert table on fire and Quinn pouring a vase of flowers on it to put it out. And then there is the resident ghost..... truly a fine read.

Finding the perfect Christmas gift for her boyfriend Tucker’s Aunt Lela perplexed Quinn. When Tucker come up with the idea of making an outdoor firepit for his aunt to enjoy during the colder days in Savanna, Quinn knew it would be perfect. They started right away, even though a hot spell was blanketing the area. The sweltering heat had them sweating in Lela’s back yard, but when human bones were dug up as the work began things really heated up.

Aunt Lela is promptly arrested after the bones are identified as her teenage neighbor that went missing years ago. Apparently, Lela thought her ex-husband had a fling with the young girl and went so far as torching her car to keep her away from him. That gave the police motive and opportunity for the arrest.

Tucker is devastated, but reluctantly agrees to let Quinn and her sister, Delilah do some amateur sleuthing to see if they can turn up any evidence that his aunt is not guilty. Even though he is uncomfortable with the situation, the girls convince him to let them dig into the dead girl’s past. This ruffles the feathers of more than one of Savannah’s elites, including his parents.

The further the investigation progresses, the closer it gets to home. Two more people are arrested in conjunction to the murder, making it more personal to the girls than before. They will not stop digging into the past, no matter how dangerous it is, until the truth is revealed.

This fast-paced cozy mystery is full of red herrings and plot twists. Each of the suspects have motive and opportunity. Like all cozies, the main characters only solve mysterious murders in their spare time. Quinn and Delilah are the owners of a B&B along with their grandfather. True to life, they have to make the guests breakfast and work the check-in desk, making them well rounded and interesting.

Fardig is a prolific writer and her expertise as a cozy mystery author shines in this series as well as the others she has written. I have read several books in her Java Jive series and thoroughly enjoyed them. Southern Harm is the second book in the series, but read well as a stand-alone cozy. I highly recommend this book as well as this author.

Southern Harm is the latest story by Caroline Fardig, and I believe the 2nd book in a new series, "Southern B & B Mystery". I haven't read the first book but had no problem following along with the story. I enjoy Ms Fardig's writing and in this story she has characters that are easy to like and follow along the clues with them. I want to thank Alibi and Net Galley for a copy to review.

The daily running of B & B inn is what Quinn Bellandini needs after solving a murder. But little did she know that it will soon hit again. While helping her new boyfriend dig up his aunt backyard to do some landscape, they discovered a skeleton and soon his aunt becomes the number one suspect.

Quinn and her sister Georgia will use their skills as they discover who really killed the body as they try to save an old woman from spending the rest of her life in prison.

Soon everyone in town becomes a suspect as they try to find the real killer before more bodies are found. Enjoyable set of characters as they convey the south at it best.

When Quinn digs up a 30-year old murder victim's skeleton while she and her boyfriend Tucker are creating a garden for Tucker's Aunt Lela, she ends up in the middle of another mystery. When Aunt Lela is arrested for the murder, she and her sister Delilah decide to investigate the crime. Suddenly, it's likely her mom and dad may be involved, but she has to know the truth. But there are those who've been around for all those years who don't want the truth known, including a high-profile politician and his wife, a teacher,. and some dangerous local misfits. Just how much danger are they in this time? It's a great fun read with a winding road to the truth if they survive the journey. Entertaining characters and a surprising solution that will let these bones finally rest in peace.

A Thirty-Year-Old Murder Challenges the Bellandini Sisters’ Sleuthing Skills

Quinn and her boyfriend, Tucker, plan a fire pit as a Christmas present for his aunt Lela. While digging in Lela’s backyard to prepare for the fire pit, Quinn’s spade hits a human skull. The body has been there a long time and it turns out to be a young girl who vanished decades ago.

Unfortunately, Lela has a history with the girl and the police find the evidence strong enough to arrest her. Tucker can’t believe his aunt is guilty and wants to hire a private investigator, but Quinn and her sister, Delilah, decide to exercise their sleuthing skills and find the killer themselves. After all, it’s pretty tame running a B&B in Savannah, Georgia.

Then the girls’ parents are implicated and the plot becomes more complex. Plus they have even more reasons to solve the old crime.

I love the characters in this book. Quinn and Delilah are typical sisters, but their personalities fit together well to make them an invincible team. Tucker seems a little too sensitive, but it makes a foil for Quinn’s more take charge attitude.

Savannah is an excellent backdrop for this old mystery. The cast of characters is amusing and quirky. It’s a fun read and the mystery will keep you guessing. This is the second mystery featuring the Bellandini sisters, and it doesn’t disappoint.

I received this book from Penguin Random House for this review.

I greatly enjoyed this latest work by Ms. Fardig (I’ve missed her over the past year!).

Quinn and Delilah Belladini once again find themselves in the middle of a murder investigation, but this time the murder happened over 30 years ago. The sisters try to find hints as to who might have wanted a popular high school student dead in order to clear the name of Quinn’s boyfriend’s aunt, who is being held on suspicion of the murder.

The usual hijinks ensue with tracking down leads, sneaking around homes and businesses, and trying to get to the bottom of the mystery.

I enjoyed the story, but occasionally got a little mixed up with so many characters and who was who. That’s the only thing that kept it from being a five star read for me.

Overall this was a fun and enjoyable read!

Southern Harm
(A Southern B&B Mystery #2)
by Caroline Fardig

Kindle Edition, 263 pages
Published November 12th 2019 by Alibi

Goodreads synopsis:
A little Southern charm never killed anybody—until now—in an enchanting cozy mystery from the USA Today bestselling author of Southern Discomfort and the Java Jive novels.

After solving a murder at a local restaurant, Quinn Bellandini just wants to get back to her comfortable life running her grandfather’s B&B in Savannah, Georgia, with her sister, Delilah. But those plans get buried when Quinn and her new boyfriend, Tucker Heyward, dig up an old skeleton while doing some landscaping in his aunt Lela’s backyard. Before long, Lela becomes the prime suspect in the thirty-three-year-old unsolved murder of a high school homecoming queen.

Tucker is devastated. But Quinn’s conscience won’t let her risk an elderly woman spending her twilight years in jail for a crime she didn’t commit. And Delilah, bored by the quiet B&B biz, has been itching to do some more investigating of her own.

Soon they’re questioning a growing list of suspects, from nosy neighbors and snooty Savannah socialites to mild-mannered teachers and old high-school friends of the victim—including Quinn and Delilah’s own parents. But no one is safe from a killer who’s totally old school.

4.75 Stars

This is the second book in the Southern B&B Mystery series by Caroline Fardig.

The Bellandini sisters are back and invested in a new investigation. This one centers around Tucker’s aunt and a murder that happened in 1986 when the aunt was in high school. The dead body of a classmate was found in her backyard. Apparently, Quinn and Delilah’s parents were also friends of this gal since they were in the same class. Quinn agrees to dig into the past at Tucker’s request since he is having to pay for his aunt’s legal fees and can’t afford a real private investigator.

Just like in the last book, the detectives on the case get on Quinn’s case for looking into the suspect line-up. I find it humorous that neither Quinn or her sister run into the detectives during their investigation. But they do tend to turn up at the most inopportune time.

The last book had quite a lot of Uncle Frank the ghost sightings from various characters. I don’t think there was enough of that in this book. I really think it is time that Quinn meets Uncle Frank or discovers if all his clues are just a ruse set up by her family.

I loved the twist near the end that put the focus on a new set of suspects and how it put Quinn in even more hot water. Not sure why Quinn gets all the grief when her sister is investigating as well.

Really loving this new bed and breakfast series. I wish there was more action around the B&B so we could get a better idea of how it works and what happens there. Maybe the dead body in book three should be found in one of their rooms. ;)

If you love cozy mysteries, you should definitely check this one out. Caroline Fardig has another winner series on her hands. Don’t forget to check out her Java Jive series too!

I received this as an ARC (Advanced Reader Copy) in return for an honest review. I thank NetGalley, the publisher and the author for allowing me to read this title.

The characters in Caroline Fardig's 'Southern Charm' are just so likable that I feel I am visiting with friends. Coupled with a truly intriguing mystery this latest in the A Southern B & B Mystery series is spectacular. The dogged work of amateur investigators Quinn and Delilah was actually believable. There is quirky humor, a resident ghost and expert suspense and I highly recommend the book.
