This is a really good storyline. It makes the reader want to go back and read about some of the characters that are mentioned. The author paints a good introduction so you can get a better understanding of the background story. The main characters are perfect for each other and it’s enlightening to read about their path to love. It has quite a few enjoyable and humorous parts to the story that’s makes it a joy to read. It has all the required parts, family, friendships, love, and steamy love scenes. I highly recommend this book , and would definitely read other books by her. Three Stars for ‘The Wild One’ (Corisi Billionaires #2) by Ruth Cardello

Many thanks to NetGalley, Montlake Romance, and Ruth Cardello for an ARC in exchange for an honest book review of The Wild One (Corisi Billionaires #2). My thoughts and opinions are 100% my own and independent of receiving an advance copy.

Synopsis: “She wants to go wild. A billionaire decides to go with her. For two Americans in Paris, love wasn’t in the plans in New York Times bestselling author Ruth Cardello’s sexy high-stakes romance.

After years of choosing safe over satisfying, a weeklong Paris fling sounds perfect to Wren Heath. And who better to have it with than Mauricio Romano, a billionaire with a reputation as a first-class heartbreaker. A few days. Fun, then done. What happens on vacation stays on vacation, right?

Paris was Mauricio’s playground, and love was never part of the game. Lust? Toujours. Then he meets a sweet woman who wants to be a sex kitten. He knows how to give her the wildest five days and nights of her life. No commitments. No strings. But the hotter it gets, the harder it is to remember his own rules.

What do you do when what happens in Paris stays in your heart and then shows up at home?

Are these two destined to clash or destined for love?”

The framing device of Dominic Corisi and his family “problems” is awkward and confusing in this otherwise fine romance. The main story involves Mauricio and Wren who meet in a kind of meet-”ick” scene that doesn’t really go with the rest of the book. They end up agreeing to a fling and spend a week in Paris which is when the book starts to really shine. In those scenes, as they walk the streets getting to know one another, and back home with their families, lie the book’s greatest strengths. Ruth Cardello does some really great character and world-building. I truly loved the Mauricio and Wren characters and their story. It’s too bad the Dominic Corisi sections take the reader out of their story and detract from the main romance. Readers of her series who know who this person is might enjoy this, but as this is billed as a “standalone”, I can’t really get on board with it. Regular Cardello readers will likely love this book. Casual readers will have more of a difficult time jumping into the story.

I recieved an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This book was just amazing! It took me a while to get through because I was in a reading slump but when I finally started reading it again I simply couldn't put it down!

This book is about Wren who works as an engineer to support her family because both her parents are unable to work, Wren doesn't really enjoy her job but she stays because it's a good paying job and it's a safe position.
Cecile, Wrens friend, invites her over to her other friend Felix's house, but Felix is unable to come and sends Mauricio instead to tell the girls that he isn't coming. Then Wren and Mauricio meet and it's Insta-lust,

Mauricio and Wren eventually get into contact with one another and they go on a week-long trip to Paris together to go crazy.

I really enjoyed this book! I loved Mauricio and Wren's relationship and I actually really enjoyed how they didn't fall in love with each other at first sight, I prefer insta-lust over insta-love and this book had it! :)

This is a safe book with a HEA, a solid 4 stars!!

Ruth Cardello has talent. She weaves a tale and immediately has you captivated. This is the second in the series and you want this couple to have their happily ever after.

The Wild One is the second in the Corisi Billionaires series, but it can be read as a standalone. All of Ruth Cardello's books are somewhat loosely interconnected across series as well, but you don't need to read them all to enjoy any one.

The Wild One is the story of how Maruicio and Wren find each other and fall in love. Their story starts with lust, passion, and the fantastic setting of Paris. Neither of them is looking for love and a long-lasting relationship, but slowly their story goes from pure lust to intrigue and fascination to long-lasting love that neither of them saw coming.

The Wild One is a well-written love story with a happy ending from a reliable author that always provides just enough drama but not too much angst, an abundance of feelings, and two characters that realize they have exactly what the other needs.

Thumbs-Up!! A hero who goes back to a place in the past only to realize he no longer feels the pull of youthful antics. A heroine who has always been responsible and mature wanting to let go and have fun in a place far from home and responsibility. Mauricio and Wren were fun to get to know. I really enjoyed the interaction between them and how they each were always upfront with each other and their expectations. The only thing I missed is I would have like to learn a little more about why Dominic doesn’t want anything to do with his past. What did Althea find out about that made her stop looking into it? Otherwise this was a sexy, engaging romance I really enjoyed.

When Mauricio and Wren meet in Paris, the attraction between them is instant and they agree to a fling while they are in Paris. As they spend time together, they both realize they want more than just Paris, but are not sure of the others feelings. So when Wren gets a distress call from her mom she leaves Paris and Mauricio with just a goodbye note.
The Wild One is a fun, sexy and entertaining read. While their time in Paris was all fun and sexy, I enjoyed how Mauricio woos Wren when they are back home, and how the family gets involved in getting Mauricio and Wren together.
I haven’t read the first book in the series, but I enjoyed the wild one and look forward to reading more in the series and how Dominic Corisi ties in with the Romanos.

I was given an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest and independent review.
This was the second book in the series and although can be read as a standalone, if you have read the first you know the characters and some of the back stories. But this book was better than the first one.
An easy to read, steamy romance with a fairly good storyline and some good characters.
Easy and quick to read, it’s a bit of pure escapism. Perfect holiday read if this is your genre.
3.5 stars.

Really good story but was a bit too steamy for me. Wren is a woman who has devoted her life to her parents. She has lived near them to help as much as possible giving up her dream of creating something that will help people with her engineering degree. Wren takes a vacation to Paris to see her best friend.
Mauricio is a player, love them and leave them. A chance meeting in Paris has Mauricio rethinking his thoughts on relationships.

Do Wren and Mauricio have a chance at a happy ending? Will their family obligations keep them apart?
Thank you to netgalley for complimentary copy. Thoughts and opinions are my own.

Wren was a delight and I believe Mauricio didn’t know what hit him when he met her. I loved that Ruth told their story with the setting in Paris. The city of love and for these two it was. Until reality hit and Wren left without warning. With emotions running high, I totally understood the emotions Maurcio went through – and he felt them all.
With meddling family (what would we do without them) they are given one more chance at happiness. And of course, we get to keep up with other families we love from previous books.
This story is happiness, laughter, a few tears, and best of all an HEA from one of my favorite authors.

This has little to do about the story, but I absolutely love the character names wren and Mauricio. The characters were pretty fantastic too. I enjoyed getting to know Wren and her journey to figure out what she really wants to do with her life and the contrast with Mauricio who is on a similar journey. This is the second book in this series and I have to say I'm really digging the Romano brothers. One thing that sets this book and series apart from others is the secondary story with Dominic, a character from one of Ruth's first books, which currently seems to have little to do with the primary story, but will obviously interact in the future. I like that it is tying the books together with more than just a common family like most romance series.

“Ruth Cardello” romances are so delicious, so captivating and so addictive, a good night sleep isn’t even an option.....I’m so in love with this book. It ticked all of my boxes. I laughed. I swooned. I teared up too. It was just PERFECTION!! What more could you ask for!! Other than the next book that is lol you definitely need this book at the top of your TBR library!! Happy reading!!

Ruth has a true gift of a arrogant man being brought to reality by a strong woman. Wren, was a family oriented woman who was strong willed and knew what she wouldn't settle for. A true vacation brought a little blur to reality. When her reality creeped in Mauricio couldn't handle his feelings. With the help of his family things turned around and brought ease to a strain that ran deep but was out of pure love and respect.

The Wild One is the second book in the Corisi Brothers series by Ruth Cardello. She wants to go wild and he wants to join her. One week in Paris for two Americans turns into more. Wren and Mauricio agreed to a week long fling while in Paris, but the two stray from the plan the more time they spend together. Wren is straight laced, while Mauricio has a playboy history. This story has a love at first sight story line with lots of steam. I really enjoyed how these two met and formed an instant connection. I loved the Corisi family in this story and how they were all pulling for Wren and Mauricio. I devoured this book in one evening - could not put it down!

Thanks to NetGalley and Montlake Romance for an eARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I could not put this book down! I read it in one day! I loved the dreamy landscape of Paris and Wren and Mauricio are great opposites attract characters that somehow actually have a lot in common. This is a common fantasy going away and falling in love abroad. The pitfalls and anxiety of the 'should we do this shouldn't we do this', and the fantasy of being who you want to be when there are no preconceived notions and letting your fears behind for a week away. It's all very sincere and feelings I know I would be put in if I were in a scenario like this. I liked the quirky side characters of Cecile and Felix. I love both Wren and Mauricio's families and how they tie in at the later half of the book. If you're looking for romance abroad this is the book for you!

Where my confusion lies is the minor tie ins with the character Dominic Corisi. Also why is this called the Corisi billionaire series when it focus's on the Romano family. I have a feeling this will be tied up in a bow throughout the series, but as someone who had just read this book and not the other series it was a tad confusing. She did include a disclaimer about the previous book, and his appearance in this book, but it felt like there wasn't enough plot to justify it. It was 98% about Mauricio and Wren, and 2% this side plot about this man who doesn't want to, but is forced to find his family. What really gets me is it's mentioned but nothing actually happens in this plotline.

I think if the author wanted to tie these two families together, it would have been an interesting book on its own about Dominic finding his other family and tie these two series together, but as it is now, it's a bit unsatisfying. Halfway through the book I thought 'what happened to the guy in the first chapter? what does this have to do with everyone" Overall I really enjoyed the book, and plan to read the first book about Sebastian and if there are any sequential books in this series as well. Hopefully we will find more about Dominic out as well.

I really liked this book. It had the perfect balance of steam and romance. Another great outing by Ruth Cardello.

I was very excited to read The Wild One - a second book in Ruth Cardello's series about the Romanos family. Mauricio is the pretty one in is family - he has never had issues with getting women and had quite a wild life whe he was young. However, when tragedy struck their family, Mauricio stepped up and took over his family business. Now, when his brother is finally ready to take over the company again, Mauricio finds himself at crossroads -what to do next?
Mauricio goes to Paris and there he meets Wren, an American women vacationing in Paris, and in some ways also running from her real - complicated - life. They instantly feel attracted to each other and spend their days together in Paris. However, is something more going to happen between the two? They both did not expect to find someone from Paris but life sometimes does not give you the control.
The book was pretty steamy and fun, I felt for Wren and really wanted life to work out for her.
The most interesting part is how Dominic is connected to this family! I wish we would see a happy ending in that quest as well.

I loved this book. Wren was a different sort of girl for Mauricio, but he still asks for a fling. He’s not into relationships. But could she be his “one”? Loved how they were both close to their parents, and that he wants his family to meet her. He does mess up with her, can he get her to forgive him? Had some happy tears. It’s a very touching story. Can’t wait for more, I need to know what happens to Dominic’s family in the next book. I received an advanced readers through NetGalley and I highly recommend this book.
