This started out as a great story but then it just dragged out too long without Ember and Bash getting together. I got frustrated with the direction it was taking and felt like it had too many storylines all joined together.

Bash and Ember secretly dated in high school until their parents decided to get married. They then went their seperate ways but are now back in each others lives because they are now in school together.

This book as first was weird to me that they were step-siblings who dated but then I realized how they were never raised as siblings and it wasn't as weird. Either way, their relationship was sweet and I enjoyed their story. I recommend this book for any romance lover and would read another book by Sariah Wilson.

I received an eARC from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

The whole story revolves around the plot of "forbidden love." Bash and Ember (weird names) meet in high school and fall in love. However, then their parents meet (Bash's father and Ember's mother), fall in love, and get married. So now the two young lovers are new step-siblings and will be living under the same roof.

Fast forward some years (3-4?) after life happens for a few years and they have to deal with being around each other again. I feel like most of the drama in this book could have been avoided if they just talked one another and had open lines of communication instead of "assuming" what the other one was feeling.

I'm sure this is meant to be a romance, but most of the scenes were pretty PG-13... making out and talking about making out. Not steamy at all. It was a quick read, but I didn't get attached to the characters like I prefer to while reading a book.

Sariah quickly became one of my favorite authors after reading #Starstruck. Her books never disappoint. This story was fun, flirty, and still had enough drama. I can't wait for her next book!

I loved the first book in the End of the Line series so I was excited to read Just a Boyfriend, the second book in the series. Although I enjoyed this one, it just wasn’t quite as good as the first book for me. I would still absolutely recommend this book, I guess I just preferred Logan and Jess to Bash and Ember.

3.5 stars

I really enjoyed the first book In the End of Line series and couldn’t wait to get my hands on Just a Boyfriend. Sariah Wilson did it again with this book and gave a different take on step brother romance.

Ember and Bash were secretly dating in high school. Prom was right around the corner and they were all set to go together. Only it didn’t happen when their patents meet and fall in love and get married months later. To make things easier Bash decides to move away.

Bash and Ember see each other years later at college. To make matters worse they have classes together. They both still have feelings for each other but know it would be difficult.

These two have amazing chemistry and the whole time I was hoping they could find a way to make it work. I really enjoyed this book.

Good story, I was intrigued by Bash after meeting him in the previous book. Character development was good, dialogue flowed well, although there were a few moments where it seemed to be on a younger age level than the college setting.

I really really wanted to like this more than the first one because the first one bored me half to death, but unfortunately this was basically the same. There’s nothing wrong with it, like the plot is fine, the characters were fine. Everything was fine. It was just so boring for me. Nothing had me hooked, everything felt kinda flat and I didn’t care much about it. Decent but not incredible or memorable, ya know?

After reading book one, I was intrigued to read Bash's story. But it fell a little short for me, I like the forbidden aspect but the PG-13 writing style didn't really feel right in the college aspect.

The author creates likeable characters, and her writing style is easy to get along with, but this one just lacked the emotional oomph I would expect from the type of relationship this couple had.

Readable, but not memorable :(

The End of the Line series is so fun, I love a sports romance and the men in these books are so sweet despite their conflicted pasts. This story of Ember and Bash was on fire and their love story was beautiful and complicated. I am hopeful that there will be more in the series.

It is a standalone, you do not need to have read the first to enjoy this one.

I really enjoyed this sports romance, it wasn't the best one I have ever read but it was in the top percentile for sure.

This was a super cute clean romance read! I really enjoyed Bash and Ember story and how they are step siblings! They find each other in college and hope to just be friends. But we know that’s not going to last. There was lots of tension between these two! Of course we get to see how they overcome hurdles and family to be together. This was just a easy fun read all in all.

Just a Boyfriend is book 2 in the End of the Line Series but it can certainly be read as a stand-alone.
Ember and Bash fell in love many years ago in fact they were getting ready for their high school prom when their life fell apart, their parents fell in love, had a whirl wind romance and ended up getting married....suddenly the love of your life is now a step sibling .....
Years later and still strictly off limits Bash and Ember end up at the same college only to find the attraction and chemistry is still there. Struggling with feelings can only go on for so long and evening though it’s going to get complicated this couple know they need to be together, they need each other...
This may sound like a romance that should be taboo but in fact it’s a sweet enjoyable read and you can’t help feeling the love and guilt this couple share as the fight the enviable. Looking forward to more in this series.

This was a cute story, with a trope I like with something coming in between two lovers clearly infatuated with each other. It was fun, but I found myself getting a little bored at times. Worth a read but nothing that exciting or groundbreaking.,

Bash and Ember were in love, until their single parents also fell in love and got married. Now four years later they have done everything in their power to stay far far away from each other until circumstances conspire to bring them back together

Sounds like the premise for an exciting story but unfortunately it just couldn't keep my interest & I sadly found myself skimming through the latter pages

I really didn't get far into this one, before putting it down. Lately I've read from so many amazing romance authors that imbue so much personality into their books and have unique writing styles that absolutely capture my attention. Just a Boyfriend unfortunately does the opposite and read kind of... placidly. Also the step-sibling love, second chance, characters have history... is also very much not what I like to read in romances. It seemed sweet enough and a good way to pass the time, but I could tell early on it wasn't for me.

Another great read from the series. What happens when suddenly your father marries mother from your girlfriend a lot of drama, suppressed feelings and on a hell of a love story. Bash and Amber's story is unique and the story is worth reading for.
I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for NetGalley

I loved the first book in the End of the Line series. So great. Bash's story is even better!! Couldn't put this one down and read it an afternoon.

Many thanks to the author, the publisher, and NetGalley for my ARC. All opinions are my own.
