Reparations has been a controversial but central subject in the 2020 election cycle. As someone involved in politics, I've been trying to read and learn as much as I can about the subject, the arguments for and against it, so that I can formulate my own stance on the matter.
This book explains the arguments and reasons why reparations should be paid to black Americans and make a very compelling case. The history behind the movement for reparations is often seen as being derived from anti-racist activism but is actually based on compensations that were promised after the end of the Civil War when the country was reuniting during reconstruction.
Learning about the history of this movement, and the need to create equal wealth, was extremely interesting, informative, and compelling. I recommend this book to those who want to gain perspective on this issue.
