This was another great story in the Dark Alpha series!
The story was well developed and whilst there was not as much action in this book as there have been in others in the series, it was still a story that kept me engaged and I loved seeing the characters develop.
The author has a natural writing talent and it is really showcased with each book she releases, the flow in this story was great and it was a page turner for me. Donna is a go to author for me and I would pick up any of her books from seeing her name on them alone.
I am already looking to the next release from Donna Grant - she never disappoints!! It is 5 stars from me, very highly recommended!!
I've always loved Donna Grant's "Reaper" series but this installment fell short in comparison to the others I have previously read and enjoyed. I just wasn't invested in the characters nor storyline as much as I wanted to be and overall, the book was just… blah. You know? Sure it wasn't terrible and to some extent I did like certain aspects to Dubhan and Kyra relationship and their journey but there was no wow factor. Sadly this installment wasn't for me yet nevertheless I very much look forward to seeing what the author has in store for us next.
Wow what does it take to make a man smile. How about a little hottie who rides a motorcycle and is surrounded by self confidence. She watched him knowing he was more to her than just a pretty face and the day he decides to confront her. He finds his whole reason for breathing. Great read. With just a few more answers!!
Kyra is a light Fae and is living her life the way she wants. She is searching for her aunt that disappeared years ago. She sees the fight between the Reaper and the Queen, and gets sort of obsessed with one. Dubhan is a dark fae and a Reaper who is searching for a man who helped them one time. When he realizes Kyra is following him, he confronts her. She volunteers to check out a symbol Dubhan found on a doorway at a bookstore. This starts a investigation into the Others who are against the Dragon Kings and what they know about the reapers. Time is running out until another war starts.
Good story with a little cliffhanger. I don’t want to give too much away. A little sexy.

Another yummy Reaper meets his match.
This was over much too quick. I want to say so much, but most of it would be spoilerish. Let's just say, no I can't say that, it would be a spoiler. Loved seeing Death, Cael and the other reapers, but not near enough of the Dragon Kings. But that's about to change. Man those Others sure are devious.
Dark Alpha's Temptation is a fantastic journey into the heart and mind of yet another Reaper. I don't know about anyone else, but I seriously love these guys! They are fierce and strong and determined and yet when love crosses their path, they soften and accept as any man would who recognizes the incredible gift that love is. I seriously can't get enough of this stunning world and its fascinating characters. I look forward to many more amazing stories that are sure to entertain and delight!
Kyra just wants to live life on her terms. She has been told what to do and how to act growing up and now she just wants to savor and enjoy what life has to offer. She doesn't put demands on life, and yet one day she finds herself inexplicably pulled toward another being who endlessly fascinates her and pulls her in at every turn. Dubhan knew what he life as a Reaper would entail. He doesn't ask for more or different. He is content to do what Death has asked of him. In one breath, he finds that Fate has altered his life. Not sure what to think of is, he hesitantly explores this new possibility. When he discovers the truth and depth of what has been given to him, he grabs hold of it and savors it for as long as he can. Can two lost and hurting souls find shelter and healing in each other, or will this new dream quickly turn into a nightmare of epic proportions?
I had no idea which Reaper we would be getting to know better, but I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know Dubhan. He is an intriguing character with a dark and mysterious past and yet not to be outdone by his lady love whose past is just as mysterious as his. Together they explore, discover, and attempt to turn the tide for good. Not only do they try to accomplish Dubhan's task, but they find themselves entangled on a much more fundamental level. Oh what a fun and thrilling adventure that I found myself on!
Donna Grant gives us yet another tightly woven and magnificently written work of art that digs deeper and reveals just a little more of her massively brilliantly multiple threaded plot. Her books whisk me away into a world of fantasy, love, adventure, and danger. I couldn't ask for more, and I always long to return soon after. Grant is a fabulous author that has won my heart and reading devotion, and I hope to read more of her for many years to come!
Donna Grant's Dark Kings and Reaper stories are some of my very favorites across all genres of romance. I love the wide range of feelings and emotions that we come into contact with - and how each story advances the overall story arc in some way, while still managing to focus on the main coupling. Over 100 books in to her career - she is still going and writing awesome, engaging stories.
Dubhan and Kyra are each unique and fun characters. Dubhan, as with the rest of the reapers, suffered a fundamental betrayal that led to him becoming a reaper. Even though he was a Dark Fae - he wasn't necessarily a bad person. I think he was a decent person who was never shown that there could be another way. He had less tolerance for the dark ways than the rest of his family - and therein led the route to his betrayal. He certainly contributed to the ways of the dark - with silver in his hair and red eyes. But his commitment to that way of life wasn't there.
Kyra is very special and has some very unique abilities. She was also different from her family - but instead of being murdered by them, she stepped out on her own. She's been on her own for a long time - but truly seems pretty content and happy living her life and doing her own thing. Until she find Dubhan.
I would not necessarily recommend this book as a point of entry into the series - or into Donna Grant's Dark World. There is a lot going on with the overall story arc that won't have as much meaning to a stand-alone reader. That being said, the main story of Dubhan and Kyra wasn't sacrificed to move the story along - instead it showed how sometimes it takes new eyes on a situation to make progress. Kyra is not young or new to the scene in anyway - she's a smart, outspoken woman with good ideas. All those around her take her seriously - which was a pleasure to see.
Overall - I loved the story, and I loved the continued progress we are making on the overall story arc. A fabulous continuation to a series I love.
I received this as an ARC from NetGalley - but these opinions are my own! And I would have bought this book myself regardless of whether I received an ARC or not!
I love the Reapers and look forward to each one. This one is about Reaper Dubhan and Krya. She has been following Dubhan since the fight at Light Castle. They have insta love and Make a nice couple. This is definitely a bridge book. Not much happens in this one but if your a fan of the series you will enjoy seeing past players. No dragon kings or Rhi , just Reapers getting ready to face the Others. A battle is coming. Can’t wait!
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Another hit in the Reapers series for Donna Grant Loved it. Couldn't put it down finished it in one day.
