Gudetama is an adorable little egg, that's for sure. I loved this book... can't wait to see more!

I received an advanced reader copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review via netgalley and the publishers.

This is a cute book and the artwork is very bright and eyecatching. The book reads like a graphic novel but the humour just wasn't to my taste really.
This is the first of this series I have tried so maybe its just my taste, but if you have read others in this series i am sure you will enjoy it.

Thanks to the publishers for sharing this one. It wasn't really my cup of tea. The Gudetama character is cute, but I think overall I just don't get it. Maybe it's a bit too out of context. My full review appears on Weekend Notes.

Fun book, where gudetama helps others find love. Highly recommended for gudetama fans, but if you don't know who gudetama is, you may be confused. The dating advice and scenarios are mostly whimsical, occasionally drifting into heartfelt. A nice, light read.

Charming, adorable, and freaking hilarious! Wook-Jin Clark has made a wonderful thing and that thing is this. Read it, laugh with it, and be ready to OBSESS over it. -Jess Smart Smiley

Happy New Year!! Coming into a new decade we need to start with a stunner of a book and what else says WOW then Gudetama??? And even better a Gudetama DATING GUIDE. Just in time for Valentines Day too.

Sick of dating apps? Want to mingle with real people in real time? Never fear, Gudetama is here.

Kind of sucky with the lads/ladies? Do you blurt out inappropriate things at the wrong time? Are you just a wee bit obsessed with murder and conspiracy theories? Uh, one can never be FYI. BUT, if you want to go after the bland and boring Gudetama is the one to call.

Heartbreak sucks. It’s the worst. It can be a physical pain as much as emotional. But hark, the angel sings and Gudetama has come to dry our tears and heal us from the inside out.

This graphic novel is a joy. It’s humorous sure but it deals with plenty of real life situations. It’s cute as hell and I love seeing Gudetama’s egg yellow booty.

Thanks very much to Netgalley and the publisher for this copy of my ARC. All opinions are my own.

Gudetama is a grumpy and very lazy egg that gives dating advice that is good even if you are lazy like Gudetama.
This is the first time I read something with this character and I found it pretty enjoyable.
Also the illustrations are beautiful and funny.

Cute, silly, all around good fun with a bit of a bite. It's all nonsense mostly but there are some hidden gems in the advice. I loved the art style and hope bright and colorful everything was. For the first moment it prepares you to not take it serious. But the "story" is still compelling.

Didn't really feel like anything special. The art style was nice but the plot was a bit weak for one book. It was also way too short. I hope that no one needs to pay money for this book if they really wanna read it as it wouldn't be worth it.

“Likes: Sleeping, Chilling, Eating”

So, I’m not gonna lie: I’d never heard of the Sanrio character Gudetama before this title popped up on NetGalley. But how could I turn down love advice from a lazy, grumpy, chubby egg (alternately hard boiled and fried, it seems) with a butt that just won’t quit?

While Gudetma is unexpectedly adorable, the rest of the artwork just isn’t my bag. There’s just something about human faces without noses that turns me off. But it is colorful and skillfully executed, so I’ll give Clark that.

The advice is more of a mixed bag; some of the comics fall flat, while others are amusing or relatable or both. I especially liked the “phases of a break up” maze – someone should make that into a Candyland-esque board game. Preferably with more swearing and cards that let you binge real live junk food.

This book has cute illustrations but the comics themselves fell flat to me. It's a quick read and not a complete waste of time.

Sweet exactly what you would expect from a comic about the lazy egg, Gudetama. Lots of fun minimal effort dating advice with some definite laugh out loud moments.

I love Gudetama and the artwork throughout the graphic novel was great, but I couldn't relate to the short stories or weird dating advice at all. This unfortunately wasn't my kind of humor.

Thanks Oni Press and Netgalley for providing me a copy.

I love Gudetama. I don't remember exactly when I learned about my favorite lazy egg, but I've been a fan for at least the past two years. Gudetama: Love for the Lazy is hilarious, heartwarming, and surprisingly full of good dating advice. Gudetama and his buddy Nisetama are trying to help people find love. Through a series of short stories, Gudetama helps various hapless singles find romance. The advice that is given, for the most part, is pretty solid dating advice. This would be a great gift for any fan of Gudetama or for someone wwho is going through a rough patch in their dating career. Short, cute, and a lot of fun.

Thanks to Oni Press and NetGalley for the galley!

{I received a copy of this comic on Netgalley in return for an honest review.}

'Gudetama' is a cute graphic novel that follows the Sanrio characters, Gudetama and Nisetama, as they give light-hearted dating advice to different characters.

I really enjoyed reading this comic and I thought the artwork was absolutely adorable. Gudetama is probably one of my all time favourite Sanrio characters- so seeing a comic book for him was honestly amazing, (I wish there were more!)

And despite the fact that they took a comedic and light-hearted approach to the dating advice, I still thought that their points were really useful, valid and important.

Overall, a very well-written/drawn comic that I would definitely recommend to anyone who's looking for a short and fun read.

Rating: 4/5

The artwork in this was (while not to my personal taste) well done and fun, but the short dating tips were just not all that funny or relatable. I know Gudetama is meant to be lazy, but this egg is kind of just a jerk in this book...

This was a really fast read and fit right in with my love of other Gudetama stuff. The art was cute and poppy.

Gudetama: Love for the Lazy is a sweetly silly and surprisingly spot-on look at dating and love advice from an anthropomorphic lazy egg-yolk named Gudetama. Due out 14th Jan 2020 from Oni Press, it's 48 full color pages and will be available in ebook/comiXology and hardcover formats.

I love upbeat positive silly situational comics. These are very short 1-3 page vignette stories about dating and related advice with Gudetama and his buddy/helper/narrator Nisetama. The artist writer, Wook-Jin Clark's work is frenetic and colorful in a good way. There were several of the stories which elicited a smile from me and at least one surprised chuckle (what to wear on a blind date).

Definitely a good choice for manga lovers, fans of comics, Sanrio fans, and 'just because'. I really loved the art and the cute (very silly) stories.

Four stars.

Review to come at the end of December on blog/goodreads.

I received this comic from Netgalley in exchange of an honest review.

I love Gudetama, the cute lazy egg, so I couldn't resist this comic when I saw it. I first thought it was manga, given it is Gudetama, but it is a comic. :P But since I didn't know that when I started I read the manga way and was quickly finding out I should just read it the normal book way.

In this book we meet our lazy egg, Gudetama and see him help out various people with problems in love. Like the guy who looks normal but has a BIG BIG problem, thankfully Gudetama has a solution for him, though as his friends also said, they can't meet at that place all the time. I had a big laugh at the second story and how Gudetama was using a dating app and getting all the attention (then again, if the one seeking help has that kind of profile... um I can imagine him not getting any attention). And each story has someone new who needs the help of love guru Gudetama. Though if they actually get good advice? Well, I guess that depends on how you look at it. He did have some valid points from what I could see, but sometimes I was just scratching my head. I do wonder why people still come to him... knowing that he doesn't always answer right.
But I did like seeing all the various people and what kind of trouble they had. I am not sure how I felt about the guy who was for OJ and his girlfriend for Cranberry. Who the f cares? I am a tea person, my hubby is a coffee person. We drink our own drinks and don't give a f. Do people really care about such little things?

The gift guide.. who the hell gifts a person a bottle of vitamins? Also gift certificate being a bad present? Excuse me? Give me all the book gift certificates in the world, you make me happier with that than a tattoo or chocolates.

And the comic ends with various very short life questions asked to Gudetama with a very easy and lazy answer.

All in all, despite it being a bit repetitive, I had lots of fun reading this and seeing what kind of advice people wanted and what Gudetama would tell them. Plus, I just adore Gudetama so a whole book with him is just perfection! I would recommend this book.
