Ooooh, this was such a great story and I enjoyed it from start to finish. This was my first time reading a book by this author and I was very impressed. I love Viking stories and this one did not disappoint.
All Thorvald wants is to get his land back and if he has to kidnap a princess for his Jarl to do so, so be it! Alodie, a servant for the princess, comes up with a plan which involves her pretending to be the princess. It all seems pretty cut and dry but neither of them expected to start having feelings for each other and Thorvald is pretty torn up about what he's doing. Alodie is confused because she's always believed the Norsemen to be "demons" and yet, Thorvald is so honorable and gentle with her. The whole story is well written and all the characters very believable.
