I could not get into the story because the characters felt flat to me, like I’ve seen them before a hundred times.

i had a lot of fun reading this book, I loved that the character were working for the Roman God of Chaos and had vampires in it. It was a trip and I look forward to more from this series.

Diving swiftly into book two, I was not disappointed. The story had a great, steady paced flow and easy to follow. I enjoyed much of the story and also the development of the characters. I cant fault it, I'll be picking up book 3!

I was provided with an advanced copy of this book to read and provide an honest review.
Her Majesty’s Fury by Stephanie Mirro is the second book in the Immortal Relics series. I have not read the previous book nor anything else by Stephanie Mirro. Even though I have not read the first book in the series I was still able to follow what was happening, thought it would have been helpful to have a bit more background information in relation to certain elements in the story.
Imagine you are a young woman at a college studying, working and you also have the most amazing boyfriend anyone could ask for. Life is great, life is normal. Or at least it is until suddenly your world is shattered, everything you thought you knew is completely wrong. The divine, the gods, they are all real and exist. As do vampires, known as Bacchae, oh and of course witches are real too and surprise, your mum was one but you never knew. Well, this is Serafina’s, or Sera for short, new found reality.
After she discovered the amulet of the god Bacchus, which contained his essence, she is always connected to him and can hear him in her mind. But her world has also been total chaos since she found the amulet. Her mother was actually a witch and her boyfriend, Hiro, was brutally murdered in front of her by a group of Bacchae. This group was led by a psychotic and power hungry bacchae known as Danae.
Sera is intent on getting revenge for Hiro’s murder, but that is not all she must do. Sera must face the new threat that Danae intends on bring down on the world and all of the humans. Total control and enslavement of the human race, just like her own personal herd of cattle, with Danae reigning as Queen over it all. But in order for Danae to achieve her goals she must steal Bacchus’s amulet from Sera.
With the help of her best friend Nora, Renee, a formidable witch, and Theo a police detective who is more than meets the eye, Sera will have to race against time to stop Danae’s evil plans for world domination.
Her Majesty’s Fury is a delightful new spin on the supernatural world. I found the concept of having the essence of a god or divine entity held in an amulet or an ancient relic to be quite original and entertaining concept. This YA Fantasy novel was a nice relaxing and enjoyable read. I could switch off from the real world and immerse myself in the story and characters.
Will have to try and locate a copy of the first book in the series while I await the next book!

ARC from NetGalley

I hadn't read book one, and I was worried that I would be confused, but it dropped me into the story and I caught on pretty quick. Never once while reading did I come across any questionable grammar or editing issues. It was a page-turner for me. I assume it would have been even more so if I had read the first book.

I thought there would be more sex, or any sex, considering the Bacchus situation, but it was still an enjoyable read. Hopefully the next book doesn't disappoint. I don't need to be punched in the face with it, but a little fade to black would have been nice. I feel like there was a good opportunity missed with one of the couples. That's personal preference though. All in all a good read. Looking forward to the next one.

I only had one complaint really, and that is a spoiler which can be read via goodreads if so inclined.
