This book kept me reading late into the night. Plenty of twists and turns to keep you guessing. I look forward to reading more books by this author.

MM Chouinard is one of my favourite authors, with Dancing girls being one of my top reads since joining netgalley! First off I didn’t realise I had missed the book in between dancing girls and this one (something that I quickly remedied this morning!)
Although a series, there is no reason why it can’t be stand alone - as there is very little links to previous books apart from the main characters!
This wasn’t as good as the dancing girls, but it was still pretty decent!
A woman , covered with blood - turns up with amnesia. Jo and her team tasked with finding out what happened. There isn’t much in the way of twists and turns, but it was easy to read and well written! I am now off to read the previous book, which means my ironing will have to wait!

this book is a must read so enjoyed very gripping a woman walks in to a shop covered in blood and does not remember anything detective Josette and bob are put on the case they name her Zoe until they know who she is , she finds out from Josette she has a daughter . then someone comes to the hospital and Zoe runs .detective Josette has her own problems as well its a brilliant read so recommend

Wow.. This book gripped me from the very first page until the very last page. I just couldn't put it down and when I had to put it down I couldn't wait to pick it up again! I would most definitely recommend this book to lovers of thrillers!

Thank you to Bookouture and NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This is another entry into the "crime thriller with amnesia" genre. Part classic police procedural, part thriller from POV of the amnesiac heroine - and a few bits from POV probable murderer - that lets us follow the case from several very different angles. The author does a great job of developing the character of the lead female detective (her male partner, however, remains rather bland and non-descript), and also manages to very subtly turn what is initially a sympathetic character (the afore-mentioned amnesiac) into someone you would rather not have to deal with due to what is revealed bit by bit about their (lack of) morals.
I did feel the book as a whole was a bit too long for what it was, and the story lagged a bit, but the ending was very satisfying and well done. I would enjoy seeing how the author develops her female detective character further.
3.5 rounded up to 4
