Like other books in this series, it is a fun little introduction to inspiring people. Definitely a great way to introduce kids to biographies and a nice read for adults too. I would recommend all the books in this series.
I'm a big fan of this series of books! I do not have kids, but, since I'm a teacher, I've found the illustrated books are a great tool for teaching and ope the kid's minds. The story of this great mind, it's a beautiful and hard lesson about overcoming of many difficult situations we sometimes never imagine.
As for all of this series, I think it's a book for kids around seven to nine years old, but I'm sure a lot of adults like me, would enjoy this simple but wonderful books
This was a super cute condensed version of Stephen Hawkins amazing life. It’s a wonderful way to introduce children to science and for them to see that everyone started as a kid and had to learn before becoming “geniuses”. The artwork was amazing. Matt Hunt did a wonderful job. It reminds me of the very hungry caterpillar artwork.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for granting me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Another lovely example of this series which offers children the chance to find out about the lives of famous people. Perfect for the class library!
I was curious about how Vergara was going to handle Hawking's illness, but I should not have worried. Another adorable addition to the series.
Another great introduction in the series. The artsytle is very cutesy and I enjoyed going through the book. I really liked the concise introduction from how Hawkings grew up until he reached adulthood.
Thank you Netgalley for providing me with a digital copy for an honest review.
This book is part of the "Little People, BIG DREAMS" series and is a board book for younger kids to learn the story of Stephen Hawking. This is a pretty cool way to teach kids about dreaming big - "No matter how difficult life may seem there is always something you can succeed at" is a great message for children - and anyone, really!
I received a free e-copy of this book in order to write this review, I was not otherwise compensated.
Stephen Hawking was a physicist. He loved studying science when he was a kid. However, when he was a young adult, he developed a motor neuron disease, which caused his muscles to degenerate. He lost the ability to move and speak. He was able to overcome these challenges and become a success in the world of science.
Stephen Hawking died a few years ago, which generated more interest in his life. There was a popular movie made about his life before he died. He was an extraordinary man who defied expectations. He is an inspiration.
I think kids will love reading this book about Stephen Hawking.

Thank you to Quarto Publishing Group - Francis Lincoln Children’s Books for a temporary digital edition via NetGalley of ‘Stephen Hawking: My First Stephen Hawking’, written by Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara and illustrated by Matt Hunt, in exchange for an honest review.
This little board book is intended for children aged 4-7 and is part of the publishers acclaimed ‘Little People, BIG DREAMS’ series that introduces young readers to the lives and works of significant people via books and educational games.
It presents in a few pages the essence of Hawking’s life and work and includes his illness and how he didn’t allow it to stop him reaching out to understand the cosmos and share this with others in an accessible way. It is an inspiring little book.
The artwork is simple and colourful and works well with the text.
This is a book and series that I would happily recommend to any parent, teacher, or librarian.
‘Instead of looking down at his feet,Stephen decided to look up at the stars’.
An example of positivity, dedication and resilience, this little book narrates the story of Stephen Hawking,
Despite his illness, he dedicated his life to science and he is particularly known for his work with black holes and relativity.
Beautiful illustrations and perfect words are used to present his life to the little ones!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I adore these books from Little People, BIG DREAMS series, This new book is about the life of Stephen Hawking, the genius physicist and author.
I highly recommend this new book Stephen Hawking, by Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara.
Come to think of it all her books. They are so adorable, stylish and quirky colourful illustrations throughout and extra facts at the back.
This is great for small children to learn about some of the wonderful people that were and are a part of our lives and did great things they did.
Big Thank you to NetGalley and Frances Lincoln Children's Books for the ARC provided for an honest opinion.
Beautifully done. Loved learning about hawking in this lovely picture book form with amazing artwork.
Stephen Hawking, the genius who, if nothing else showed us all what a determined mind can achieve, is a role model for anyone. More so, for little kids with impressionable minds who find even the smallest things like an argument with a friend in the playground, nerve racking. This book in bite sized nuggets brings alive the life of the great phsysicist and cosmologist Stephen Hawking. The illustrations are done beautifully and compliment the text which touches upon everything that was important in the life of Stephen Hawking.
He could have let sickness rule his life. He could have given up. He could have. But he didn't. He decided to "look up at the stars" and became one of the most famous scientists. He let us a legacy a lot richer than the knowledge regarding black holes.
This is one of the best books of the Little People, Big Dreams series! A story of passion and courage. A great read for children and parents!
Thank you to Net Galley and Frances Lincoln Children's Books for providing me with an e-book copy in exchange for my honest review!
A really positive book. A colourful simple book on Stephen Hawking. Told in brief words with colourful pictures. Lovely book on one of our geniuses told for younger readers. Positive message that someone can overcome their disability. Highly recommended #stephenhawking
I will buy any book in this series! These are perfect for little learners! My 2.5 year old loved learning about Stephen Hawking with me. Big sister was excited to compare it to the "big kids'" version!
Thank you for the opportunity to read and review this book. Yet another great book in the "Little People, Big Dreams" series. I love the simplicity of them, but yet learning so much.
This was a great little biography for young kids about Stephen Hawking. It doesn’t go very in-depth, but it shares the basic information about his life and is enough for very young children and to get them interested in asking more. I enjoyed the pictures and the message that you can still succeed when things are difficult.
Thank you netgalley for an ARC in exchange for my honest review.
Little People, big dreams nails it again with this beautiful book about Stephen Hawking. He was such an interesting and brilliant man and this book perfectly depicted who he was. These books are great to get kids curious and thinking.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review!
Again, I don’t have much to say that I haven’t already said in my previous two reviews on “David Attenborough” and “Martin Luther King, Jr.” However, I will say, the writing in this addition to the series makes MUCH more sense as a board book. Again, this one would serve as an excellent introduction to a lesson on who Stephen Hawking is, but to a much younger audience. I can also see younger children really enjoying being read this one on one by a parent or loved one
