A story of two sisters with a hidden past, and you don’t know who to believe. A bit predictable when the Floyd family was introduced, but overall a fast-paced read. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC.

Really liked this book. Fresh reading and angle about the friction and love in the sister bond. Kept me engaged to the point of not wanting to set this one down. I found nothing in this story to dislike. It was well written with good characters and nice thick plot. Good read for sisters.

This is my first novel by Roz Nay and I really enjoyed it. A great thriller with a storyline centred around two estranged sisters, one of whom is living an idyllic existence in a resort town, the other whom has been doing it tough for longer then sh’d care to remember. That’s all I’ll say as I don’t want to reveal the plot but do your self a favour and read this book, it’s really enjoyable. Thanks so much to the publisher and netgalley for the arc.

Sisters Alex and Ruth meet up again after 10 years and that is when we find out about their many secrets. Could this happen? An eye opener and a must read.

Hurry Home, by Roz Nay
My thanks to #NetGalley for this ebook in exchange for an honest review. Alex Van Ness seems to be living her best life. Living in an upscale loft with her boyfriend, a champion skier turned model, her (seemingly) perfect world is turned upside down when her pregnant sister turns up needing help. As a social worker, Alex is torn between wanting to help her sister and protecting the perfect world she has built for herself – and protecting the lies of her past? Will Alex and Ruth be able keep the past in the past or will her sister betray Alex and tear apart everything she’s worked so hard to construct? This was an interesting book. A tight psychological look into the world of Child Protective Services and the disturbing world of family conflict.

Every story has two sides.

It starts off simple but is anything ever really simple?
Alex is a family service worker who seems to be trying to protect the children, when her sister comes back into her life it brings up the past which she had carefully kept to herself only sharing bits and pieces with her boyfriend Chase.
Ruth comes bring trouble hot on her heels, Alex forbids her to talk about the past but as everyone knows its impossible to tell a story without revealing a small part of your past. A suspense until the very end. Its brilliant and I cant wait to read others by Roy.
Sisters bonds for right or wrong.
Thank you to Netgalley/ Roy Naz/ Crooked Lane Books for The ARC in exchange for an honest Review.

Hurry Home kept me on the edge of my seat right through to the ending.
Alex Van Ness is living her bets life. She is a successful child protection officer, living with the man of her dreams, and is happy! Then one day her trouble-maker long-loss sister shows up pregnant and Alex’s life begins to unravel.
High,y recommended for all.

Yes, this book creeped me out!! I mean how could it not with a title like that? Honestly though this was one of those books where you are constantly questioning what is going to happen next. Which is exactly the kind of book I enjoy reading!

Holy. Wow. I really want to curse but I won’t. This book...wow. It felt cheesy at times, but I literally inhaled it in two sittings. It was addicting. It was SO GOOD. It was twisty and turny, and I felt like I couldn’t grasp what was going to come next. This was a wild ride and I absolutely LOVED it. I highly, highly recommend this.

Hurry Home was. game that Ruth and her sister Alex used to play when they were children but Alex never stopping playing her role as protector.
Alex has a dreamy boyfriend, Chase, an amazing apartment and a job in child protection services where she helps children everyday. Alex is comfortable in her life until his sister Ruth, who has always been trouble, shows up in her life after 10 years, pregnant and looking for help. Alex will help her on one condition: Never speak of their childhood past to anyone. Ruth has made some mistakes but is determined to make things right with her sister and for this baby, but some secrets can’t stay hidden forever and the domino effect can threaten the most idealistic life.
I felt bad for the wrong sister but couldn’t help myself and I found that some of her choices were a necessary evil. I enjoyed the book and the characters. Though I did think that some characters were swayed too easily to the other side. But don’t take my word for it, grab a copy and see for yourself! Thank you Netgalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I liked this psychological thriller that kept my interest throughout. It has some twists and turns that I didn't really see coming. I enjoyed this book and I will definitely read more from this author.

This is the first book I read from this author and I have to say that it really impressed me. I liked his writing style and the characters were interesting enough to keep me reading. It is a good family psychological triller with good twists and turns. I would definitely love to read other books from this author and would recommend this book.

Hurry Home was a fantastic thriller with several twists and turns! The plot was engaging and smooth flowing. The story had content that was difficult, dealing with child abuse, trauma and families torn apart. The story line involved the department of children and family services and highlighted some of the issues involved when there isn't enough oversight. The flawed system is definitely brought out in this drama. Great book, great characters.

This is a story about two sisters told in their respective POV. Though the story is predictable one can still read through it because of the fast narrative. The reason why the sister reaches out to the younger one is not clear. An easy going domestic. 3.5 stars

Ok, this was so much fun even though I knew where it was headed most of the time!

I’m not one of “those”. I read tons, mostly thrillers, but I don’t always see it coming, probably not nearly enough. This one seemed to foreshadow each twist and I felt it was deliberate. But just because I knew what was coming, didn’t mean I knew what the fallout would be.

This author knows how to write. There weren’t any slowdowns in pace and the characters were so well developed. It is definitely a family drama. I always wished I had a sister but I’m rethinking it after this! Also, I didn’t see the last reveal. Wow! I look forward to the next by this author!

A new author and a new story, neither disappointed. I love domestic thrillers and this one was no different. I "flipped" furiously through the pages as I read, wanting--no, needing--to read what was next. a GREAT READ.

I found it really hard to characterize this book. It didn't read quite like suspense and it didn't read quite like a thriller.

I found it hard to engage with the characters and plot line for the first section of the book. The characters are definitely deeply flawed, but not necessarily in a likeable, relatable way. I was a little lost as I wasn't sure where we were headed. Holy manipulative, dysfunctional, narcissistic relatives - I'll never complain about my own family again.

By the second part of the book, I was more engaged. I was flipping pages because I needed to know more of the story. I was a little more confident that I had this figured out.

Oh wait... I didn't see that coming. What is going on? This seems so predictable but I've completely been taken by surprise.

This was an interesting read. I can't in all honestly say it was my favourite, but I found it disturbingly entertaining. I felt a little wrung out by the last sentence. I appreciated the author's unique cadence as she presented some very dark (possibly triggering) emotional situations while exploring the frustratingly delicate and intricately woven ties of our families and our pasts

5 stars!

Alternating between the pov's of two sisters worked really well for this narrative. Each has a different view of how past events of their childhoods played out. Although I guessed a few plot developments early on in my reading, it didn't detract from the effectiveness of the storytelling. It was well written and the main characters were both flawed and well fleshed out.
This was my first book by this author, and I will definitely be back for more.

My first Roz Nay book. I really enjoyed this read!

Suspenseful story about a long lost sister (Ruth) who shows up on her sister's (Alex's) doorstep after 10 years. There is doubtless bad blood between the two but Chase, Alex's partner, is patient and warms to Ruth. Oh, yes - Ruth arrived pregnant, as well.

As the story progresses, we become familiar with Sully, a cop, who is friendly with Alex. The two meet for lunch/breakfast often. Chase finds out but he is suspicious of this "friendship.

Lots of twists in this suspenseful read. This is not a story to be missed!

Recommend!

Many Thanks to Crooked Lane Books and NetGalley for a roller coaster of a ride!

This is my first Roz Nay book, and I have to say I need to go read her first book immediately!

Hurry Home follows the Van Ness sisters and their convoluted family history. The story begins with Alex Van Ness, a social worker, who seems to have it all together: the perfect job, perfect boyfriend, perfect apartment, perfect x, y, z. Until her sister Ruth, estranged for the last fifteen years after a horrific family tragedy, knocks on her door.

What follows is a complete roller coaster ride. You aren't sure who to trust or believe until the very end. I don't want to share too many details for fear of ruining the story. But you will NOT want to put this down until you've finished it!
