This is a collection of the War and Peas Webcomic. I quite enjoyed it. It’s definitely more for adults, as the adult humor is sometimes crude and very often suggestive. But it sure is a lot of fun. Some of my favorite parts involve death riding a skateboard, or the seductive witch and her slutty nature.

Some oft-kilter, 4 panel comics that may make you smile. There's nothing earth shattering here but I did find some humor. This is probably for a teen or older audience. There is some cursing and adult themes. The comics mainly revolve around a reoccurring cast of a robot, a dog, the Grim Reaper, a slutty witch (She refers to herself as such), a gay couple, and a kid ghost.

Hilarious read! War and Peas is a collection of odd, morbid comics with recurring characters throughout.
I enjoyed some of the comics, especially the ones with the dog and ghost! However, I found some of them to be a bit too morbid for my liking.
A quick, light easy read — perfect for fans of the comic strips or for people with a dark sense of humour!

While this wasn’t laugh out loud funny, I enjoyed the humor of these comics. I was not previously familiar with these strips but I look forward to reading more from the authors.

I come across the War and Peas comics once in a while when I'm goofing around on the Internet, so I was excited when this ARC was available on Netgalley! I really enjoyed this collection. The humour is a little dry and dark, so it's probably not all of it is for everyone. But it's still entertaining! The art style is unique and accessible and despite the book being a collection of single page comics, there was some narrative there which was pretty cool! Would definitely recommend if you're looking for a quick read! 😁

FUN! Funny and very simple. Great little collection. A great way to spend a bit of time. Laugh Out Loud moments galore. A little dark, but that was perfect!

An example of dark humor, contains recurring characters (such as grim reaper, witch, ghost boy, robot). Characters were charming but the jokes were unfortunately somewhat ordinary.

I'd seen a lot of War and Peas comics online and really enjoyed reading them as a book. The one page comics usually have a great twist and often made me laugh out loud.

Perhaps not the best collection of comics I've read, but the way it switches between story lines through alternating comics is so unique! Definitely loved the dark humor throughout.

War and Peas is like a lot of Andrews McMeels books: reprints of webcomics, mostly one-pager comedy riffs. Unfortunately unlike their more successful books, like Sarah Andersen’s output, War and Peas is never funny. They’re like bad Family Guy cutaway gags where you can see the punchline coming a mile off and mostly the setup is uninteresting to start with. Bad comedy, boring comics to read – War and Peas fails across the board.

This was a hilarious read; a fast one too. I came to know of the creators of these comics through Twitter. Later I found out how big they were! War and Peas is well worth the hype. These don't make you giggle, they make you laugh out loud, scream in laughter. I like how the characters reappear after some pages—it was a nice touch. Morbid, dark, wickedly funny. There are vampires, the Grim reaper, a witch trying online dating, ghost, robots, scientists—a mad, funny cast that are guaranteed to make you laugh. I found only very few of the comics to be meh/okay-ish. Most were pretty good. This book would make a great gift for someone with a nice sense of humour.

A collection of dark humor comics that include memorable characters such as Slutty Witch, the Grim reaper, and Robot.

If your sense of humor is a little f***** up, you'll love this collection. If you're easily offended, you'll probably hate it. I happen to love it and can't wait to see more.

An inventive look at the comic book style. "War and Peas" includes a series of panel comics with recurring characters. There is some kind of linear fashion to the sequence of comics, even though it is never specified. There are jokes that are impacted by some of the previous comic sets, but they can each be enjoyed on their own.

I finished this collection in an evening and while they did brighten my evening I wish there was more. The length of the collection wasn't an issue, I thought it was just about right, but I wish the characters and scenes would have interacted more and given more insight on this world as a whole. Overall I was hoping for more of a storyline than the one-off panels.

This comic collection was pretty good. I liked most of the comics. A few made me laugh out loud, but there were a few that seemed lackluster and a little tired.

Really nice comics, stand alone. Some merge with others. Really nice collection. Straight to the point.

Comics with a dark and morbid humor. Quite original and funny.
There are several characters with their own strips, such as the Grim Reaper, a dog, a robot, and a witch (those are my favourites).
All the comics in the book are new, in case you follow War and Peas on instagram.

I have been following War and Peas account on Instagram for a long time. They have an unusual sense of dark humour, maybe not everyone's cup of tea, however, I can highly recommend you to give a chance to this duo. Their book was super fun to read - just as I expected!

I've never seen the webcomic, so these comics were all completely new to me. Despite the subtitle, they aren't all that raunchy. There are only a few that wouldn't be appropriate for younger readers (most teens have probably seen worse, anyway).

I enjoyed some of the recurring characters such as the slutty witch, the two Bobs, the little ghost boy, and the robot. None of the comics were laugh-out-loud funny (at least, not in my opinion), but they are amusing.

I might have to check out the online version. There's plenty to smile over here, so now I'm curious about the comic's origins.

This quirky collection of comics will have readers young and old laughing their pants off. The characters have hilarious conversations, and the storylines are easy to follow. As the collection follows several different characters and plotlines, things move along quickly as I wanted to read more about each of the cartoon plots. The witch had to be one of my favorite characters, especially in the strip where she visits her gynecologist and they find out about her vampire-ex! I would highly recommend this book to Millenials who enjoy funny comics online, and I look forward to reading more comic strips from this artist!
