Definitely a lot of twists and turns in this story. I could not relate to Shay and her need to be friends with these ladies. I found her too needy and how she stalks all of those who were in Amanda’s life rather creepy. I found the story a little too long but did enjoy the ending.

This book starts off with Shay Miller....going on an interview after seeing a woman commit suicide on the subway platform.....Shay picked up a charm bracelet and just as she was going to ask the woman if it was hers, the woman jumped to her death. Shay gets some help from the woman's friends the Moore sisters and things become weird.

"The average person will walk past 16 killers in the person's lifetime."

Good book, kept the reader on a roller coaster on a psychological suspense ride!

I thought this book was okay. I wasn't in love with any of the characters and thought it was a bit slow for the most part. I liked the ending but feel like something was missing still. Thank you NetGalley for the ARC.

This novel was enjoyable but not one of their better novels. Normally, their novels have that “ can not be put down” to them. This one just did not have it for me.

I was interested in this book because I enjoyed two of her previous books, “The Wife Between Us” and “Anonymous Girl”. “You Are Not Alone” was good but not as good as “Anonymous Girl“.

I didn’t love the main character “Shay”. The book starts with her at the wrong place at the wrong time which starts a series of events she has difficulty navigating. At the start of the book, she is fairly dim-witted and lacks confidence. It was frustrating to have the book slowed down by her poor choices and poor character judgment.

I enjoyed the “data book entries” at the beginning of Shay’s chapters. They were similar to a diary but instead of a review of her day she listed short statistics on facts that relate to her. It provided variety, entertainment, and humor throughout the book.

I received this galley from NetGalley.

Loved! Great suspense, didn't really know what the purpose of the circle of friends was until late and I did NOT see the twist coming. My only gripe was Shay's constant referring to "the Moore sisters" - it just seemed forced. That and she just was so meddling!

Okay, next time I mention that I’m planning on reading a thriller can you please stage a ‘reading intervention’?

I won’t go into the detail of You Are Not Alone by Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen, short of saying it’s the standard middle-class-women-go-psycho thriller.

What bugs me about these stories is that:
◾the very smart women do lots of very stupid things
◾the plot hinges on one minor but specific detail (in this case: cat ownership)
◾and that minor but specific detail may as well be in neon because within the context of the paragraph you’re reading, it’s glaringly obvious (cat ownership only needs to mentioned once, not five times – Okay! I get it! She owns a cat!)
◾no one ever thinks to go to the police when the shit hits the fan

There’s nothing wrong with the writing – it does the job – but I spent a lot of time rolling my eyes. Hard.

Stacey dropped out of school after the eleventh grade but later earned a GED and has taught herself so much about technology that she is now in demand as a cybersecurity consultant… Stacey was the one who hacked into Amanda’s laptop. She’s also savvy enough that she was able to install a security camera on a streetlight just outside Amanda’s apartment…

Stacey sounds like a handy friend to have *eye roll*.

2/5 Too ridiculous.

I received my copy of You Are Not Alone from the publisher, St. Martin’s Press, via NetGalley, in exchange for an honest review.

You Are Not Alone by Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen is the third psychological thriller penned by this duo together. Since I absolutely loved their first two efforts, The Wife Between Us and An Anonymous Girl it was obvious that I *needed* to read this next effort.

Shay Miller is down on her luck needing a new place to live, a new job, new friends and basically a complete overhaul in her life. One day when Shay is waiting for the train she sees another woman jump to her death right in front of her which then afterwards Shay cannot get the scene out of her mind.

Whether it was guilt or simply curiosity over who the woman had been and why she did what she did Shay finds herself tracking down her personal information and where the funeral will be held. Walking into the victim’s life Shay finds herself suddenly becoming friends with her friends and turning her own life into a mirror of the victims.

Being masters of a twisted psychological thriller that immediately become an addiction that a reader must have I knew going in to expect awesome writing and a creative tale. While I wasn’t disappointed in the least with this one something just kept me from really feeling the five stars with this one but it was still an excellent read and will still have me impatiently waiting for more from this duo.

I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley.

I enjoyed this book and there were definitely some very suspenseful parts. There was only really one twist, and while it was surprising, it wasn’t shocking. I feel like a version of this type of story has been done before, more than once, so the originality is lacking. Shay was unbearably naive. I thought there were missed opportunities in this book. A shock that I was really looking forward to was why Amanda really ended up killing herself. I just felt like things could have been written better, or plot points should have been just a little different.

I always eagerly await the next book by this fantastic duo. Each of their books has some thrills, but each book is very different from the previous books. This one started out with a bang and drew me in. However, the pace slowed somewhat after the beginning, and I didn't feel it picked back up until right at the very end. I found this one interesting and it did have a twist which I always appreciate, but for some reason this one didn't suck me in quite like the previous books have. The main character was a sad character, and I just didn't connect with her as much as I would have liked because she seemed like such a stalker because she was so lonely. I was engaged in trying to figure out the group connected with the sisters. I did find their maneuverings to get their way and uncover information cleverly done. I still enjoyed the book and would recommend it to people who enjoy psychological suspense thrillers.

My Rating: 3.5

Another great book by the Hendricks/Pekkanen duo! These fast paced thrillers with interesting characters keep my attention. The storyline was riveting as I rushed to finish the book as quickly as possible. I had to know whodunnit! As always, this is another one of their books that I will be recommending to family and friends.

Greer and Sarah know how to write a suspenseful book, that I know for sure. Shay Miller isn't the most likeable, or believable, character, but I found myself guessing what would happen next throughout. When she witnesses a tragic event one morning, it sets in motion events that could lead to her own end, and keep the audience guessing.

This book is co-written by two amazing authors. I’ve read everything that they have written together and none of them have disappointed me! Basically this is a thriller where a domestic situation happens and the mother doesn’t believe our main character. Someone is believed to have committed suicide so if that’s a trigger for you I don’t recommend you read this book. I definitely didn’t expect the plot twist that happened because the whole time the person was betrayed as an innocent person. This plot was definitely well thought out and I didn’t see it coming at all. Like I said before if suicide is a trigger for you I don’t recommend it but, to everyone else I definitely recommend it!

What another great book from Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen! I’ve read previous books from this author and really enjoyed them. I was pleasantly surprised to see that this was just as good as those. I enjoyed the story and the characters were very well written.

In their newest title, Hendricks and Pekkanen provide another page turner with a twist the reader won't see coming.

One Sunday morning, Shay's life is changed when she witnesses a suicide in the New York subway system; the victim seeming to lock eyes with her prior to jumping. Although she is a stranger, Shay can't stop thinking about her and feels compelled to pay respects -- first by leaving flowers and then attending her memorial service by pretending to be a friend. What Shay doesn't know is that others have taken notice of her interest and want to find out who she is, what she knows, and how they can quiet her, if need-be.

You Are Not Alone was my first book by this author duo.

From the very beginning I noticed that I had a hard time keeping the characters apart from each other. They all started to sound the same since there were so many female characters to keep track of.

The feeling I got the most throughout the book was that it was quite odd, and a bit strange that the heroine was SO interested in another person’s life. It was a bit obsessive, and if I’m honest sad too, how the main character needed to attach herself to virtual strangers, to find some meaning in her life. That’s probably when I stopped connecting with her.

The book was put together in three parts, with different POV’s throughout the story. As I mentioned above, the different POVs from all female cast members, were barely distinguishable from each other. There were just too many female characters that all sounded the same to me.

But I must say that the twists and turns in this book were quite something. Also the writing was good, and the plot made for a great thriller.

You Are Not Alone was such an amazing book! I have always heard amazing things about Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen’s writing and I loved reading An Anonymous Girl last year when it came out. I will be honest in saying that for the first half of You Are Not Alone, I truly had no clue what was going on with the Moore sisters ploy to use Shay but I was so engrossed with the book that it did not matter. I just wanted to keep reading! Once you figure out all of the connections, there are so many twists and turns that make you question everything you know. I really loved how the book wrapped up because I felt like there was some closure but still the ability to leave you questioning. One of the most unique parts of the book was the inclusion of fragments of Shay’s data book which I always looked forward to because they set the tone and foreshadowed the chapter. After reading this book, I need to make a priority to read The Wife Between Us by this dynamic author duo because their writing is so suspenseful and leaves you reading until very late to find out what will happen.

The main character Shea witnesses a suicide and becomes obsessed with the girls life and why she did it. But was it a suicide? Shea meets this group of woman who seem to be very successful and a close knit group that Shea desperately wants to belong to. But there are things about the group that Shea doesn’t know. I thought the book was just ok. It was interesting to see where the book was going and how it would end, but there was really no big mystery or suspense. It was very predictable and just not overly exciting. It wasn’t bad and I wouldn’t not recommend it. I just didn’t jump up and down about it. I just found it to be pretty unbelievable in the way the characters acted and responded to events.

Shay has an existence that is common to many people. She works a job that isn't going to get her anywhere and has no prospective love interests that will give her a happily ever after. Everything she wants she sees when she happens upon the Moore Sisters.

The sisters are glamorous and seem to have the life that Shay has always wanted. So when they bring her under their wing Shay can't believe her good fortune. She thinks that life may finally be turning around for her.

The Moore sisters however have secrets that Shay could never have imagined. Secrets that will threaten even Shay's seemingly boring life.

A twisting and turning delve into friendships that are made with ulterior motives in mind.
