This was an Redbook for me. Was very confusing in beginning, so it felt extra slow. It was hard to get into characters because you didn't get a chance to understand them. The last quarter of story was good and brought everything together, but I didn't like the backward feel to the book. Thank you netgalley for chance to read.

A tale of an unhappy, lonely woman who is apparently befriended my two mesmerizing sisters who use other people in revenge schemes. An intriguing read that keeps you wondering until the end. Well done.

You are not alone was the first book to help me get out of the Covid-19 funk. since this started I have not been able to concentrate on ay books at all until I picked this up.
The first chapter is when everything started off, so very fast-paced which was very enjoyable. I've read Greer and Sarah's other books "the other wife" and I enjoyed this one just as much. a lot of plot twists and the ending came together brilliantly, I was shocked with every turn.
I'm usually a Ya fantasy, contemporary reader with a mix of adult thrillers like this one but right now thrillers are the only genre I can concentrate on, I love plots and thrills.
I definitely recommend You are not alone to thriller fans of course but if you need or feel like changing up your routine check this one out you won't regret it.

Thank you Netgalley and St Martins Press for providing me with a copy to review.

These two have done it again! They make a wonderful writing team.

Shay Miller is in the wrong place at the wrong time and that starts her on a roller coaster ride of her life. While she tries to keep her sanity, Cassandra and Jane Moore are trying to take it away from her. This book is hard to put down. I stayed up late several nights! It had me on the edge of my seat until the very end.

This book was the right kind of addictive. I loved how the characters developed. It was a perfect book to read at the end of the day. Highly recommend!

This book took me awhile to get into and honestly I just kept reading once i was so far in. Shay the main character, we also get to hear different perspectives as well which got a bit confusing to me. I really wanted to enjoy this book but everyone just seemed so unlikable and trying so hard to be this strong take no BS woman when it's not true. There were some twists in this novel but not enough to make me enjoy it as a whole.

Awesome thriller by Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen. I was on the edge of my seat reading the whole time! It's a little challenging to review without spoiling anything.

Thank you NetGalley for this ARC.

I received an e-galley of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

For someone who self-describes as "not much of a thriller person, " I sure do end up reading a lot of them. When I saw the description of this book, coupled with the esteemed authors, I couldn't pass it up. I do believe it lives up to the hype, at least for thriller fans.

The first half and the second half of the book are vastly different, which has its pros and cons. I enjoyed that the first half of the book focuses on character development. We learn about the main character, Shay, who witnesses a tragic event in the beginning of the book. We follow along as she befriends the friends of the victim, and we begin to see how these events could be misconstrued. At first, it seems like we're being set up for a classic "she's not crazy - or is she?" type storyline.

The second half (or quarter?) of the book moves much quicker, and this s where the suspense builds. I was glad to have had the character development in the first part, which allowed me to follow along and identify with the characters during this part. This part had a few plot holes, which I'll refrain from mentioning here, but I was still hooked. I definitely did step back and question Shay's actions a few times, and the end was a little bit suspicious to me, in terms of plausibility.

As someone who's not a thriller buff, I found this to be less fast-paced than I would have liked, but more well written than I've come to expect from this genre. Kudos to the authors on another success.

Shay Miller is a 30-something data researcher living in New York City. Estranged from her family, with few friends, she spends a good portion of her time on her own.

Sharing an apartment with a cute guy she has an unrequited crush on seems to be the highlight of her existence. That is until he gets a new girlfriend, Jody, who is slowly pushing Shay out.

Shay knows her days in that apartment are numbered, so like her numerous temp jobs, even her living situation is unstable.

As her life seemingly drifts out of her control, Shay witnesses a horrific event on a subway platform that unknowingly sets her on a new course.

Witnessing a young woman's suicide, Shay is understandably shaken. She feels like she could have done something to stop it.

Compelled to learn more about this tragic girl, she discovers her identity, Amanda Evinger, and ends up attending her memorial service.

Once there, surrounded by Amanda's friends and loved ones, Shay tries to blend in as well as she can. She makes up a loose acquaintance to Amanda for her cover story.

Everyone is so nice to her, including the glamorous Moore sisters, Cassandra and Jane. Despite herself, Shay gets caught up in the warmth of the service and begins to let her guard down.

After the Moore sisters come into her orbit, things begin to fall into place for Shay. She suddenly finds herself with an alternative living arrangement, a better job, and a potential love life.

When things seem too good too be true, however, they often are.

What happens next is a wild ride through the streets of New York as Shay slowly pieces together the truth of the Moore sisters.

Who is friend? Who is foe? If you don't read this book, you'll never know!

Much like previous works by Hendricks and Pekkanen, You Are Not Alone does a great job of building suspense throughout.

Alternating perspectives help to amp up your sense of dread as you rush towards the final conclusion. I was biting my nails, for sure!

It was definitely tense. I really enjoyed Shay and was feeling everything she was feeling.

This is a solid suspense story and it kept me entertained all the way through. At first, I had no clue what was happening and as it was revealed, I thought, how clever.

Thank you so much to the publisher, St. Martin's Press and NetGalley, for providing me with a copy to read and review. I appreciate the opportunity and will continue to read anything this dynamic duo writes!

This is one of the best psychological thrillers I’ve ever read. I would read chapters in my car in between grocery store stops, that’s how good it is. I’ve never done that before. I had no idea what was going to happen next, and I can usually guess many plot twists. Lucky for me I have never read these authors before, and now I can catch up with their other novels. I am going to buy this novel on audio so that I can listen to it next.
I, too, was drawn to the Moore sisters, Cassandra and Jane, who seem to be a lifeline to a woman like Shay Miller. Shay lives such a lonely, unfulfilled life that she’s a little desperate and can’t believe her luck that these two women like her and draw her into their circle. Everything the sisters do enchant her more and more until. … To give any more away would ruin it for you. Halfway through the book, I wondered what these sisters were getting out of this friendship, and when I found out, I almost choked. I had that feeling of wanting to scream at Shay to get out, run, get as far away as you can. I strongly agree with one of the reviewers who said the authors made farfetched situations seem entirely plausible. The story almost touches on horror at times, and you’ll find that you’ll have to remind yourself to breathe. I can’t wait to read the other novels by the authors.

Thanks to NetGalley for the advanced reader copy and the publisher.

This is the first book that I struggled with from this pair of authors but I’m glad I powered through. I found the idea of Shay seeking out Amanda’s life inadvertent at first but it felt predictable and like some of the development was convenient for the authors to carry the story further. I still gave this book 4 stars because I was hooked after making it past the 40% mark and because watching Shay transform was a pleasant surprise and welcomed change in the way the story moved along.

I am a big fan of the authors, so I was very excited to receive this book. I really liked the story. The main thing that I did not like were the characters. None of them were likeable. The Moore sisters were obviously manipulative. It seemed like every other character was oblivious to that. And Shay... she was pathetic, desperate, and tried entirely too hard. Other than the characters making it hard to feel for them, the story was good. I still stayed up late several nights unable to put it down.

If you read the Wife between us, you know that these authors know how to hook a reader and keep them hooked. YOU ARE NOT ALONE has a very original story to tell even though you'll see bits of every thriller you've ever recommended to your friends. A young woman's life is less than what she'd like it to be. The saying "be careful what you wish for" definitely applies here. A definite "just one more chapter" read where you will not find a good spot to take a break from reading. It gives me tingles just trying to write a review without giving away the story. Just know that this is one you definitely want to read.

Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher and the authors for providing me with the opportunity to read and review this book.

Unique and twisty, this pair has done it again! Every detail and character trait carefully played, suspense and plot finely executed. This was one of those books where, whenever I was doing something else, I wished I was reading. I devoured it.

I don't really know what to say about this one. I could not get into it at first. I got to 25% and set it down for months. At times it is long and seems to go nowhere. But in the end I can appreciate the cleverness woven throughout. It's an interesting enough story, although maybe a bit far-fetched. The characters felt real. Lots of twists and turns. I can't wait to read more from these two!

Once again Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen put you on a rollercoaster that doesn't stop until the end. I loved the character development and the slow lead up to how every thing is answered. the novel keeps you guessing and on your toes and what you think might happen and what you doubt is the truth. I've been in a reading slump because of COVID-19 but this book brought me right out of it. A definite for readers of books like Gone Girl, The Other Woman, and Mrs Parrish.

So, so much better than their last effort but the release timing of this was unfortunate as I worry it got lost in the pandemic shuffle. I hope readers will discover it when it comes out in paperback and will definitely suggest it to customers and library patrons when it does.

This is a story of sisters who have it all and a girl who is on the outside wanting so badly to be a part of their circle. Through a suicide on the subway they become friends. It has your heart racing until the very end.

*** 5 Stars ***

When Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen have a new release, you immediately move it to the top of your list because you're guaranteed something great that you won't be able to put down. "You are not alone" lived up to the expectations I had for it. I just love their writing style; they really know how to rope you in to a story line. I'd say I didn't feel this had as dramatic twists or mystery as their previous books, I seemed to not be blindsided or shocked as things unfolded and I'm okay with that. I still couldn't put this down because I felt very invested in the story line; I really liked the main character Shay, she was well developed and likable. I know some of the reviews I've read on Goodreads are mixed with this one, but I loved it and would encourage anyone who enjoys psychological thrillers/mysteries to give this a read!
