This was a solid thriller and fans of Greer and Sarah's previous work will enjoy this one as well. It is very well-plotted and you are never quite sure which way the story is going and which characters are trustworthy. I didn't see the ending coming at all. This would be a great book for book clubs to choose--the ending itself would take a good hour or so to discuss. Worthwhile addition to the thriller genre!
The cover is also beautiful!

Another fabulous book from this incredible writing duo! With new friendships reminiscent of Mean Girls, this story took it to a whole other level.
Shay finds her life changed after simply being in the right place at the wrong time. Deeply affected by the tragedy that she witnessed, she finds the new friendship of the Moore sisters filling a huge hole in her life. Single, with no prospects on the horizon, a dead-end job, and feeling even more isolated at home as her roommate moves forward in his relationship, Shay is desperate for companionship. She finds herself sucking up the sisters' attention and inclusion in their seemingly glamorous life. Little does she know they aren't quite who she thinks they are...
A highly recommended read and I can't wait to see what's up next!

I really enjoyed this book but find it a little hard to review because I don't want to give away too much of the book. It's a good psychological thriller. I had read reviews saying that there were too many characters and while there were a lot, I didn't think it distracted from the overall plot. Although, I did have a little trouble keeping everyone straight at first. The book started off really strong but I felt like it dragged a little in the middle but by the last 20% of the book, I couldn't put it down because I had to find out what happened.
Without giving away too much, it's a story about a girl in NYC, Shay, who witnesses a suicide in the NYC subway. After that, her life changes in big ways and small and not all of it is good. I really enjoyed reading how it all unfolded.

Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen have written another winning psychological thriller. The book is well written and the plot is an intricate web. Unfortunately I found this particular plot too unbelievable and I didn't like any of the characters very much - nothing really grabbed me. Still something made me keep reading until the end to see what happened with Shay.
I've really enjoyed the previous books by Hendricks and Pekkanen and this was wasn't bad - it just didn't catch me as much as the others. I will still keep reading their books!

There are so many thrillers out there these days, so it takes a bit to impress me. This one definitely did the trick!
Shay is a quiet, shy, and somewhat insecure New Yorker going through a difficult time when she is witness to a suicide. As a witness, she becomes involved in the deceased’s past in alarming ways.
Shay loves logic and statistics. She keeps a ‘data book’ with stats that relate to her experiences. I loved the stats that started each chapter. This book was very exciting and I did NOT see the twists coming. That said, the main character was so frustrating. I was so angry while reading this book at what was going on. I had to stop and fume for a few minutes; that’s how you know you’re involved with a story!
I recommend this to fans of Ruth Ware and Silent Patient.

You are not Alone is a novel that begins quite innocently as a story of friendship and hardships shared. Then things begin to subtly change. I was quickly engrossed and eager to learn where this story would end. I thoroughly enjoyed the journey!

Great story line. It was a fast read for me and I really liked the plot and the twists. I didn't find myself loving any characters or maybe I just didn't find a lot of depth to them, however it really didn't take away from the story and I really did enjoy the book.

This was a good read. Solid but not amazing. Going back over the synopsis, I wish it was rewritten. I don't think it really covers what this book is about. It sounds like they want to switch lives where that's not the case at all. However, it was enjoyable and I would recommend it. I did enjoy the quirkiness of Shay and her statistics - it also foreshadows that chapter.

4 Sinister Stars!!
The third book from my favorite duo did not disappoint! Captivating, entertaining, and deliciously sinister. I loved the writing style and the short chapters. There were many characters to follow, but it was not as overwhelming as I thought it would be. I did predict some things but I thought the ending was great, and I felt satisfied with how things unfolded at the end.
I am looking forward to the next book from this talented duo, and hopefully it will be as entertaining as their previous books.
Thank you NetGalley, St. Martin's Press, and both authors for providing me with an ARC copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.

I really enjoyed this! It was such a quick read that kept me on my toes and kept surprising me. I never saw that plot twist coming!

She decides to attend the woman, Amanda’s funeral. She becomes obsessed with Amanda’s life and begins hanging around with Amanda’s friends. The Moore sisters are everything that Shay is not. They are beautiful, sophisticated and successful and now they are showing Shay attention. Shay has no job, no boyfriend, 1 friend and she has just been told that she needs to move out of her place. Enter the Moore sisters to boost her confidence and help her with all the things that she doesn’t have. Shay can’t help but be captivated by them but what could they
possibly want with a simple girl like Shay?
It was a great book with some great twists that I definitely did not see coming. Thank you Netgalley for the ARC!

4.5 stars
Great thriller which had my mind working hard to figure out where the story was going, who was "good" and who was part of the overall twisted plan. It's hard to say much about the book without giving anything away, but this was a page-turner for me and I really enjoyed the story.

You are Not Alone will have you looking over your shoulder, staring suspiciously at people that try and befriend you .
Shay witnesses a suicide on the subway. She cant get past it , delves into the victims life.
Let the games begin.
THe Moore sisters are the ones befriending Shay. If you think its too good to be true , it usually is. Shay does not have a suspicious bone in her body. I shake my head.
That's all I will reveal. You have to read this one for yourself.
The pages fly by, no matter how much I told Shay dont be stupid, she did not listen.
Twists and turns will keep the light on for one more page, make that a chapter.
Thanks to NetGalley and St Martins Press for this wild read. It will stay with me for quite awhile.

Shai Miller lives in NY but her life is not ideal, she lives with a roommate she has an unreciprocated crush on and her career is a series of unstable, temp jobs.
All changes when she witnesses the suicided of a young woman in the subway, her name was Amanda. Shai becomes interested in knowing Amanda's background and starts learning about her life and friends.
This is where she becomes involved with Amanda's friends and her life changes for the better, or worse? I found the first half of the book difficult to get into because there were many characters and took me a bit to become familiar with each of them and not get them confused.
The second half of the book is when the plot picked up for me and was more entertaining. I enjoyed the book but did not love it, I've read the authors' previous novels and found them more engaging. Still, I recommend it to readers of thrillers and mysteries.

A 3+ rating from this reviewer.
Having enjoyed this duo’s work in the past, I looked forward to this, their newest, but unfortunately, I found it lacking a 4 or 5 star rating. It was still pretty good, creative for sure, and not run-of-the-mill.
This starts off convoluted, too many characters, all with back-stories of course, and various time frames. The jumping around seemed choppy and each time I picked it up, I had to go back a few chapters to refresh my memory of the character-of-the-chapter’s background. It didn’t flow easily. Also, none of the characters were likable except for the protagonist Shay, and her male roommate. Shay is obsessed with data, statistics to be exact, and each chapter is precluded with a statement of fact from her Data Journal. which I found interesting. She is going through a rough spot, unemployed and lonely. She is kind, empathetic and likable, and was in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Shay witnesses what appears to be a suicide on a subway and it profoundly affects her. She is curious about the young woman. Curious enough to attend her memorial and learn more about the deceased, Amanda. As a result the decedent’s close group of female friends are curious about Shay as well. Little does Shay know about what they have in store for her.
The second half was much better than the first and ended up being suspenseful once Shay (and us readers) realizes what is happening and how she has been manipulated. The last few chapters flew by.
I encourage any potential readers to please make up your own mind. You may find it fascinating and worth the read, which it was, if you don’t mind concentrating from the beginning on who is who, and why they are where they are. This is doled out in small segments to the reader throughout the novel. All opinions are my own.

3.5 stars. I didn’t love this one. I loved the wife between us and enjoyed the anonymous girl but I was hoping for a bigger twist with this one! I felt like the book was almost too straightforward. Yes there was a twist I didn’t guess but it didn’t really matter all that much to the plot. I was very interested at the beginning but started to slowly become less invested and ultimately didn’t enjoy it as much as I hoped I would.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was such a FUN thriller, as opposed to some that can be very gruesome and depressing. This was not that. It had a lot of twists and I was left guessing until the very end at how everything would turn out. I’m also a sucker for books told from alternating perspectives, which this book had a lot of.
I’ve seen criticism of this book about the “boring” stats that start each chapter, and I could not disagree more. While I am a #mathnerd and so love statistics, I thought it was a fun little addition to each chapter, and helped build the identity of the main character. Also, for those griping, they were barely more than a paragraph long!
#favauthors Having read all of this author duo’s books, I do believe this one just became my favorite! And I liked all three. Must read for female thriller fans. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 / 5

I was so excited to read this book after An Anonymous Girl,, which was my favorite book of 2019, I just knew I would LOVE this one too! It took me a little while to figure out where the story was going, but once it got going, it was just as much of a page turner as the last. This is a fast and easy read. It has some dark themes such as suicide and rape, but the book doesn’t dig too deep into those parts of the story, at least for me it was ok. If you love thrillers, you’ll enjoy this one!
Thank you so much to Netgalley and St. Martin’s Press for this ARC, I can’t wait to read their next title!

This book was brillant! Shay witnesses a suicide and it's downhill from there! I love the Author's writing style in this book! The ending was fantastic! I can't wait to see what is next from the Authors!

You are not alone is the first book I’ve read from writing duo Greer and Pekkanen and wow, I absolutely loved it! Shay Miller is a lonely female in NYC who’s a bit down on her luck. She witnesses a woman committing suicide in a subway station and subsequently finds herself being drawn into the woman’s life. I couldn’t put this book down. It was fast paced and full of twists and turns. There was one point when I felt that some aspects were becoming a bit unbelievable but then the major twist completely threw me, I didn’t see it coming at all, and I felt that once that happened a lot of things fell into place. The book is told from multiple perspectives and while I really enjoyed this, my only criticism is that I felt there was perhaps too many secondary characters, as a couple of times I had to go back to check who was who. I was worried with only a few pages to go that I was going to be left with unanswered questions but that wasn’t the case and I really enjoyed how the loose ends all wrapped up. A fast paced, twisty, edge of your seat thriller that I would definitely recommend.
