A group of besties since college are getting together for a big vacation in France. This time they are bringing their spouses and kids. Before the vacation really gets started, Kate hears her husband’s cell phone ding and decides to look at the text. He has been acting a little strange and although she knows he loves her, she is still wanting to know what is going on. What she see on his phone leads her to the discovery that he is having an affair and it is with one of her best friends. She looks at all of her friends trying to decide which one is trying to destroy her life. What she finally discovers is way more than she was bargaining for.

This is a great thriller with many red herrings and chapter cliffhangers that will keep you guessing until the end. Highly recommend!

This was a quick read! The characters were well thought out and I enjoyed following the fast pace of the novel. The ending was slightly predictable but I still enjoyed the story.

Four friends on a vacation in France seems promising. Overall the plot, characters, twists and reveal are mass market at best and fast forgotten which is a good thing.

I loved this book. It reads like a domestic suspense, but the action really picks up at the end. Just great. All the characters were relatable and fully developed. Will definitely read more from this author.

Thanks to NetGalley, the publisher and author for a copy of this book.

The Vacation is built around a clear plot and its twists rather than characters or setting. Because of this, I found it to be a slow, plodding read until the second half when the action picks up. I was surprised that despite taking place in such a beautiful location the story didn't feel very atmospheric. I wasn't drawn in by the villa or the friends, but kept reading to get to The Twist.

Thank you to Net Galley, St. Martin's Press and T.M. Logan for the ARC of The Vacation. This book is a perfect summer read. It has a propulsive, page turning plot that takes the reader in varied directions. What seems to be a simple case of infidelity takes a left turn and leaves the reader needing to know what is going on. This book follows several families and characters with their own side story secrets on a reunion vacation together. Over the course of the trip, mistrust begins to form and deceptions begin to unravel. It would be unfortunate to give a summary of this book because it is one that should unfold from start to finish for the read.

Another thriller by T.M Logan! A book about secrets, lies, and betrays which takes place in a beautiful setting when 4 best friends from college reunite. I loved everything about this book and it really kept me guessing until the end.

Vacation is a tense psychological thriller about close friends on a joint family vacation. As soon as they arrive and begin to interact, the narrator suspects that her husband and one or another of her friends are harboring secrets. As the book unfolds, she convinces herself of one possibility after another until all is revealed in a shocking conclusion!

Imagine going on vacation with your three best friends from college and learning at the start of that vacation, your husband has been having an affair with one of them. When confronted, he denies everything so you spend the week trying to figure out which of your friends has betrayed you.

This is the premise of T.M. Logan's deliciously addictive new book, The Vacation. I say "deliciously", but also annoyingly, especially when your eyes grow heavy with sleep or you have work to do, yet you can't bring yourself to put it down. The Vacation is Logan's best novel thus far with a full cast of fascinating and relatable characters.

The Vacation is the perfect vacation book, best started when you have all the time in the world to read as long as you want ... you will want to read cover to cover in one sitting!

Thank you to NetGalley for an advance reader copy in exchange for my honest review.

With The Vacation, T.M. Logan has returned to the level of intrigue and engagement of his first novel, Lies!

The Vacation is about 4 women, longtime friends that have gotten their families together to celebrate their upcoming 40th birthdays with a luxury vacation. Each friend is in a very different place in her life. Kate suspects that her husband is having an affair with one of her friends, and her focus is ferreting out evidence of his philandering. Rowan is in the middle of a company merger. Izzy has started a new relationship. Jennifer has her own family crisis. However, they come together to celebrate their friendship and to encourage friendships between their families. Beneath the surface of their friendships, many little secrets have accumulated over the years. After a body is found, how will the women react? Will they band together in a united front? Or will their separate lives and secrets lead to fracture within the group and their families?

Much of the storyline of The Vacation is dedicated to Kate investigating her husband’s affair. As the summary of the book mentioned a death I kept waiting for the death to occur...and it took a bit. However, the story was engaging and I was on the edge of my seat with each twist and turn (fully expecting the body) before we reached that point of the story. I do wish that a bit more time had to spent on the unraveling of the story towards the end, but this didn’t take away from my enjoyment of the book. The Vacation has a heart pounding ending; I can’t wait to read T.M. Logan’s next thriller!

Thank you to T.M. Logan and St. Martin’s Press for the advance copy of this novel!! You can preorder on Amazon - the US release date is July 21st, 2020.

Thank you NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

The Vacation was another fabulous read from Mr. Logan. It grabbed me on page one and did not let me go through all the wonderful twists and turns that happened to a group of friends and their families while on vacation in France.

A group of four friends from the university in Bristol are all turning 40 and they are having a family get together. Kate, Rowan, Izzy and Jennifer along with their husbands and children arrive for a week near the Village of Autignac in a gorgeous place that Rowan arranged for them, the Villa Corbieres. Kate and her husband Sean have two children 16 year old Lucy and 9 year old Daniel. Rowan is married to Russ and they have 5 year old Odette. Jennifer is married to Alistair and they have two sons, 14 year old Ethan and 15 year old Jake. Izzy is the lone unmarried one with no children. She grew up with Sean since infancy in Limerick, Ireland.

The story is told from Kate's point of view in the present with chapters interwoven that tell the story from different points of view - 10 months earlier, Ethan, Alistair, Jennifer, Sean, 9 months earlier, Russ, Daniel, Rowan, 6 months earlier, Izzy, Lucy, 2 months earlier, 1 month ealier, Odette, 1 month later and DS Foster.

Secrets and lies, misunderstandings and loyalty all combine for a gripping story that has you on the edge of your seat for the entire book. The best line of the book is "A true and loyal friend" - it absolutely describes what the book is about.

Just when you think you’ve figured out this author, you’re going to be pleasantly surprised. Moving slowly at first, but gradually hooking you until you’re caught up in the excitement of the story, Logan has once again created a winning novel.

Amazing.....Spellbinding.....Captivating.....!

That’s the best words I know to tell you how much I loved this book! I enjoyed T.M. Logan’s former books, but this one hit a whole new level of suspense.

At first glance, this is an ordinary story, just old friends getting together for a fancy vacation, one that few could afford. Told primarily from Kate’s point-of-view, there wouldn’t be much to tell if not for her constant worry, with compelling evidence, that her husband, Sean, is having an affair with one of her friends.

There are the normal complications that happen when large groups get together in close proximity. The main complication, naturally, is dealing with other people’s kids. None of us think that your kids are as precious as you do! Odette, the five year old daughter of Rowan and Russ, complains constantly and loudly about everything and demands constant attention. She’s the child that makes you pretty sure you can end a friendship rather than listen to her running amuck all day long. Jake and Ethan are the teenaged sons of Jennifer and Alistair. They’re full of teenaged boy angst and mischief, a little annoying but staying mostly to themselves. Sixteen year old Lucy and her younger brother Daniel belong to Kate and Sean. Lucy is sulky from the beginning, a typical teenaged girl, while Daniel is just having fun. Izzy, the last to arrive, has never married and has no kids.

As a crime analyst back home, Kate knows that the clues she has about her husband having an affair with one of her friends will be tricky to investigate. She can’t be wrong when she finally finds the truth and confronts them both. There are brewing issues among the adults. One drinks too much, one smokes too much, one doesn’t think the kids are being supervised enough and Kate’s behavior is being noticed. She’s suspicious of everything.

And the tension builds to a climax that I did not see coming! It was a fabulous and shocking ending. Dee...licious! I loved it! I think you will too. Grab a copy and...

Enjoy! ARC graciously provided by St. Martins’s Press and NetGalley for an honest and voluntary review.

This book held my interest from the very beginning. There were lots of twists and turns and I was shocked at the end. I stayed up till 1 AM finishing this book because I didn’t want to go to sleep without knowing the end. This is the first book I have read by this author and I plan to read more. I found the characters very easy to get to know and I just didn’t want to put the book down.

3 stars rounded up to 3.5 stars. I'm not sure why it took me a little while to get into this read, I guess I found it kind of slow and boring with Kate "studying" all of the friends while on this vacation. On the other hand, I did want to know who her husband was having an affair with out of the best friends.

This really started to pick up the second half of the book, where it became much more of a page turner.

Last few chapters kept me on the edge of my seat, which I think makes this one a worthwhile read.

Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book!

Thank you Netgalley for giving me a chance to read this ARC for my honest opinion. Have I told you lately how much I love TM Logan? He keeps writing such great books, I hope he comes out with another soon. I love when Im reading a book and think I know where this is all going to end, and them boom...a surprise twist. This was a 5 star for me.

I really wanted to like this book more than I did. It started off good but fell flat in the middle. The “friends” were all getting on my nerves. A twist towards the end helped it pick up speed and had me glad I hadn’t quit. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this early release in exchange for my honest review.
